Wrath of the Re-climber

Ethan pushed open the door of the fifth floor and entered; the blond guy immediately followed, and for a brief second, the blond guy's eyes met with that of Ethan.

"Close the door fast!" Shouted the blond guy; after the remaining classmates entered, they shut the door and leaned on it. Soon...

Bang!

"Those bastards!" They heard screams outside; the door was pushed violently, the women screamed, and the girls pleaded. Ethan frowned, "If they keep screaming, they will lead them here!" He shouted; the blond guy looked at Ethan for a moment, "Let them in!" He ordered; his friends weren't in favor, but at the glare of the blond guy, they immediately compromised, the door opened up, and the people entered; closing behind, one of the adults glared at them.

"Keep quiet!" I spoke to the last person who entered; she closed the door and leaned on in; time passed, and they waited for a moment before a series of creepy screeches passed by behind the door like a hurricane.

One of the girls was at the point of shouting, but her mouth was covered by one adult, suffocating her on the spot; she held the man's hand, trying to breathe, but this instead forced the man to increase his strength.

The screeches became violent as her gesture of fighting to breathe became frantic; seeing this, the others immediately felt fear, and Ethan and the blond frowned at what the adult was doing, but nobody was going to move to stop him.

Screech...

Soon, the sound behind the door was reduced as if distancing itself from the door; this meant that the rabbit had either exited or moved up; the place was still not safe.

"What are you doing, free her?" Said a lady. Ethan turned and saw the adult still preventing the girl from breathing; her eyes had already lost focus.

Pow!

The man was punched by another adult; he fell on the ground trembling, and the girl's body immediately collapsed on the floor.

"I am sorry, I am sorry. " The man apologized again and again, his body trembling; Ethan clicked his tongue; he was certain, and he looked at these people.

"I have drawn out the wrong card." This group was dangerous; they would cause his death, and he had to find a way and run away from them.

"She... She's dead," Said another man who came to look at the collapsed girl; he looked into her, "She had an attack due to fear." Everybody looked at the pleading man.

"Ethan..." Ethan looked away from the people and saw Katnese looking outside from the window, he walked towards her and looked outside.

Soon, the blond guy and his classmates all came forward; as the adults were bickering with each other, they saw the world order crumbling in front of them.

The obelisk stood up high as the pitch laughter of a fairy could be heard in the sky, "I remember... Wait for me, Athena," Murmured Ethan; he glared at the sky.

Nobody knew how much time had passed, but the surroundings were eerily quiet; Ethan, who sat by the window, eye closed, looked like he was sleeping.

"That bastard, is he sleeping?" Asked the boy beside the blond guy; his name was Dimitri; he looked at his friend, who leaned on the wall cross-handed.

"I don't know, I have never paid attention to him until today; his reaction was fast," said the blond guy, Damian.

Dimitri looked at Damian, "what do you mean?"

Damian looked outside; it was already midday, "before those creatures fell from the sky, he was already ahead of everybody; it was as if he saw it coming," Said Damian.

"You mean... He might have known that something like that might have happened?" Asked Dimitri; Damian nodded, not really sure; this was only speculation.

The two boys spoke, but they didn't pay attention to their surroundings as some people heard their discussion.

After an hour...

Ding!

A sharp bell rang throughout the town; everybody shook; this was an awakening. Ethan immediately opened his palms, and a short sword materialized in his hand; he wasn't the only one. It happened to all the remaining survivors in the town.

"The true game has started," Thought Ethan. The first time, he did not understand the purpose but only found out in the next stage the importance of learning how to...

'kill...'

Katnese looked at the dagger; she trembled for a moment, and she looked up at Ethan.

In the past, I was weak; she had to suffer for me in the hands of the monsters and humans and became strong. She showed me a way to survive, and for that, I am ready to carry you along until we part ways, Katniss.

"Stand up, Katnese," Said Ethan, Katnese looked up at him, and the others did the same.

"We are going out," Said Ethan; Katnese immediately became frightened.

"Wait, what? Those things are still out there; we shouldn't," She protested; Ethan walked towards her and grabbed her collar.

"Don't waste my time, is either you tag along or I leave you behind? " He warned her; certainly, he was ready to take her with him, but he would abandon her if she slowed him down.

"Ethan?" Katnese called out; it was the first time she saw Ethan like that; she knew him as a quiet and shy boy always bulling Dimitri and the rest, but his eyes, his sharp eyes, were like daggers, staring deep inside your soul, this terrified.

"Tss... Stay here; when I finish, come down," said Ethan, turning his back; Katnese nodded, and Ethan walked towards the door.

"Hey! Wait don't open that door!" An adult called out; he adjusted his glasses as he walked forward; Ethan remembered him as the perverted business worker.

'How did this man survive?'

He wondered, but that wasn't important...

'why is he stopping me?'

"What's the problem?" Asked Ethan; the adult was slightly annoyed by the boy's behavior.

"It's dangerous outside; as a kid, stay inside and listen to adults," The man said, but Ethan ignored him and took down the stuff blocking the way.

"Hey, I am talking to you. " The adult was furious, but a man stopped him, "Leave the kid; you don't have any responsibility over the kids; if he wants to go out, so be it," said the man; he eyed Ethan for a moment.

Crack!

The door opened up, startling everybody; Ethan walked out, closing behind.

He found himself in the dark stairway, he started walking down while staying vigilant.

'damn!'

He hadn't reached the down floor when he spotted a white silhouette vigorously eating down on what was left of a hand; the rabbit had already entered their second face.

"Kill them before they reach face 3." That was his objective. The rabbit, who was first a fist size, had double that of a soccer ball size, and the rabbit's ears twitched as it looked up at Ethan.

He was going to take a step back, but he felt the push of someone behind him; looking behind, there was nobody, 'what was that?'

"I would be waiting"

'Athena?'

Ethan grinned, "Wait, I will be up very soon" He took a step forward, and the second-tier rabbit immediately dashed towards him, like a shadow bouncing on walls; his target was Ethan; Ethan took his stand and slashed forward.
