Chapter 21 - I
Huo Yao completely intoxicated Xie Zuo with passionate kisses and fine wine.
In a daze, Xie Zuo remembered the picture album Feng Yi had given him. He hadn’t seen it in the past two days, and it seemed to depict scenes like the one unfolding in the water. He felt more proactive…
Huo Yao held down the struggling Xie Zuo, lifted his hair, and bit him hard on the back of his neck. This bite was cruel; the teeth cut deeply into the flesh, causing blood to flow, and the pain made Xie Zuo tremble.
.
In the middle of the night, inside the cabin.
Shi Yuan and Lu Xiaopang went to bed early, occupying the only bed. Xie Zuo could only sleep on the floor with Huo Yao.
Xie Zuo’s whole body turned crimson from the hot springs and strong alcohol, with bruises all over. At first glance, he looked like a pitiful little boy.
He leaned against Huo Yao like he was boneless. “Great Thunder Deity, this is the second time you’ve bitten me…”
Huo Yao kissed his hair repeatedly. “You can bite me back.”
Xie Zuo smiled triumphantly. “I feel quite comfortable.”
This time, Xie Zuo was sure of one thing—Huo Yao was very, very eager to practice dual cultivation with him! He just didn’t know what Huo Yao was worried about, refusing to take the last step. Xie Zuo thought about stimulating Huo Yao more to capture him in one fell swoop.
Xie Zuo began to miss Feng Yi, blown away by Huo Yao. Feng Yi seemed very experienced. If it was Feng Yi, the matter might have been finished by now.
What did Feng Yi say?
“Just be yourself; nature is the most beautiful.”
“You just wear this face and don’t have to do anything; Huo Er will be tempted.”
Huo Yao liked his appearance because he resembled his heavenly father—a natural advantage…
When he and Huo Yao successfully cultivated together, he would draw more divine power from him. Then, using the secret method taught by Wu Xiao, he could separate surplus demon power from his body, helping him survive the heavenly tribulation. Once the tribulation ended, Huo Yao could no longer imprison him, and he would be free!
.
Xie Zuo fell into a deep sleep, dreaming of wandering freely in the six realms.
In the dream, there was romance, luxury, and beauties from all six realms, but something seemed missing. Xie Zuo ascended to the heaven in his dream, omnipotent, no longer bound, and no longer subject to thunder. Everything was fine, but he still felt something was missing, an emptiness in his heart.
Thunder punishment… Xie Zuo looked at the sky; it was clear, no possibility of thunder and lightning. Where was Huo Yao, the great Deity of Thunder chasing him all day long?
Xie Zuo searched all over but couldn’t find Huo Yao’s shadow. Suddenly, he felt a sharp pain in his abdomen. Looking down, he had changed back to his original form. There was a bulge in the snake’s belly, as if a foreign body was inside.
Xie Zuo opened his eyes suddenly and woke up with a fright.
Startled, Lu Xiaopang, who was crawling under the bed, exclaimed, “Uncle Xie, you want to scare me to death!”
Still frightened, Xie Zuo touched his belly uneasily. Fortunately, it was flat and strong, without any foreign matter. He breathed a sigh of relief and asked Lu Xiaopang, “Where are you going?”
Lu Xiaopang ran out with his legs crossed, “Release the water, do you want to come together?”
Xie Zuo laid back next to Huo Yao, “I’m not going. Don’t run too far, be careful of being picked up by a wolf.”
Lu Xiaopang didn’t run far, as expected, and Xie Zuo could clearly hear the sound of him draining water.
Xie Zuo had mentioned wolves casually; he didn’t even know what a wolf was. He had only heard villagers mention how scary the northern wolf was from time to time.
In fact, wolves had been extinct from the Northern Plains for thousands of years. Xie Zuo heard Huo Yao said that this Northern Plains was the territory of the Northern Plains demon wolves a long time ago. Each of these beasts was as huge and burly as an adult bear, extremely fierce and intelligent. They were bloodthirsty and often attacked humans in groups, nearly wiping out the human population in the area.
Deities were sent to eliminate the wolves, but they were never able to completely eradicate them. It wasn’t until Beiyuan Deity fed the wolves with his body, turning his divine bones and flesh into nutrients for them, eliminating their ferocity and suppressing their bloodthirsty nature. After that, the wolf problem in the Northern Plains was completely eradicated.
It was a pity Beiyuan Deity, who endured countless tribulations to attain the status of a deity, ended up with no bones left, his soul detached, his fate unknown, and he never showed his face to people again.
However, the people of Beiyuan were grateful for Deity of Beiyuan’s righteousness, building temples everywhere to pray for him, hoping for his swift return. Beiyuan was the only place in the human world devoted solely to one deity, Beiyuan Deity.
Xie Zuo didn’t quite understand why the deity was ‘feeding wolves’ for a group of unrelated people. He was ridiculed by Shi Yuan for a while, with remarks like ‘selfishness’, ‘low consciousness’ and ‘summer insects cannot talk about ice’.
Huo Yao didn’t expect Xie Zuo to understand; he was thankful he didn’t cause trouble and only said, Deity of Beiyuan’s righteousness was extraordinary and incomparable.
This left Shi Yuan red-faced.
.
Xie Zuo turned over to look at Huo Yao, noticing a difference after drinking. The blush on his face hadn’t completely faded, and if observed closely, he seemed to be smiling at the corner of his mouth.
Huo Yao claimed the world was divided into six realms: humans, deities, demons, ghosts, asuras, and Infinity. Humans, deities, and demons were born as creatures, and would die and enter the ghost realm. Fallen deities and ghosts became asuras.
Humans, deities, and demons were all created by Tiandi. Those who knew restraint became humans; those who didn’t become demons. Those willing to sacrifice and possess great mercy become deities.
“Restraint?” Xie Zuo poked Huo Yao’s cheek. “Do you still know what moderation is?”
Drowsiness overcame him, and Xie Zuo closed his eyes. Suddenly, he sat up, wondering why Lu Xiaopang was silent. He went to piss and hasn’t returned yet. With a flash of blue light, Xie Zuo met a pair of ice-blue eyes – the same blue light he saw during the day!
The pair of blue eyes blinked at Xie Zuo and then disappeared into the darkness.
“Your Majesty, don’t disturb the person next to you; please come with me,” a gentle and clear female voice sounded in Xie Zuo’s mind.
Xie Zuo glanced at Huo Yao, got up, and chased after the disappearing figure.
The blue light flashed in front, guiding Xie Zuo. He shouted, “Where’s Lu Xiaopang?”
“Don’t worry; he’s safe.”
Xie Zuo frowned and quickened his pace to follow.
