Chapter 33: “The Calculated Pact”
The alliance was forged. Two powerful warriors, united by temporarily aligned goals, began to work together. But in the darkness of the ritual, one thing was clear: this partnership was a calculated game that could fall apart at any moment. Eventually, the time would come when the shadows of rivalry would once again stand between them. But until then… they worked together.
Rex and Kyro sat on the rubble of an old loading bay, deep in the heart of the abandoned industrial site. The massive, rusted factory halls offered plenty of hiding spots, but just as many dangers. Monsters with crystalline forms lurked between the steel beams and the remains of shattered machinery.
The dull sound of footsteps echoed through the empty corridors as the two discussed their strategy. "The Wolf Ritual isn't a game, Kyro," Rex began, tossing a piece of iron to the ground and using it to sketch a rough diagram in the dust.
He pointed to the distant silhouette of a monstrous creature slowly wandering through the ruins. Its crystalline surface reflected the dim light as it glided menacingly through the shadows. "I know," Kyro replied. "But if we focus only on fights, we'll waste too much energy. The others are already collecting crystals. If we wait too long, we'll fall behind."
Rex grinned, a hint of recognition flashing in his eyes. "Exactly. That's why we let them do the work. We observe, we wait – and as soon as they've gathered enough, we strike."
