The Vixen's Gambit: Tonight We Hunt

Chapter 127: Eat My Ray!

"Tiga?! It's Tiga!!!"

"Mommy, look, it's Ultraman!"

"I knew the light was real!!!"

After a moment of stunned silence, the bustling convention suddenly erupted into a cacophony that seemed to shake the very sky.

After all, who could remain calm in the face of such a sight?

The only two who seemed unfazed were Li Bei, who was being dragged away by Liu Yue, and Shoko, who was now standing there as Tiga.

As a devil who was now the embodiment of light, Shoko could only describe her current feelings as – thank goodness I'm not afraid of heights.

Looking down from such a height, anyone who was afraid of heights would likely be paralyzed with terror.

But despite being so high up, her hearing was more acute than ever. Shoko could easily identify the source of each astonished shout from the crowd.

Surprise, excitement, and fear… but perhaps it was because this was a gathering of otaku, but the fear was the least prevalent. Despite witnessing an entity that could accidentally crush them with a single step.

But Shoko didn't have time to greet the crowd or pose for photos. She only had three minutes as Tiga, and the Gun Devil would arrive in less than thirty seconds.

Whether she could obliterate the Gun Devil or end up in a protracted battle, her first action had to be clearing the area. Looking at the crowd's excitement, she doubted they'd have the common sense to flee like Liu Yue. Fortunately, Tiga had a diverse skill set!

As Tiga, Shoko channeled a sliver of her power, and a gentle light enveloped the entire plaza, transporting everyone, along with the light, to the riverbank some distance away.

The once-crowded venue was now empty.

Excellent. There was nothing to worry about now.

With that thought, Shoko focused, ignoring everything else and channeling all the light within her, striking her pose to begin charging.

"Ooooh, it's the Zepellion Ray!"

Gao Ming, initially stunned by the sudden teleportation, forgot his earlier terror the moment he saw Tiga's pose, jumping up and striking the same stance. "I never thought I'd see this move in real life! I, I can die happy now!"

"Don't be so dramatic..." Li Bei shook his head. How could someone get so excited over an Ultraman?

He's an Ultraman now, and he wasn't that hyped!

"But... who's Tiga aiming at?"

It wasn't just Liu Yue. Many of the spectators were wondering the same thing.

Tiga's stance was too imposing, the light charging on his body almost engulfing him, even for someone unfamiliar with Ultraman, they could see that this was a full-powered move – but he was facing empty space!

"He, he's not going to blow up the city, is he?" Liu Yue shrank back in fear. "He doesn't seem like an evil Tiga…"

"There's a reason! I'd rather believe he was about to blow up the city then that Tiga was a bad guy!" Gao Ming stated firmly. "He's my favorite!"

He didn't know who Tiga was, where he came from, or what his goal was… But just seeing that familiar Tiga face, he'd place all his trust in the giant.

He was a true inheritor of the light!

"If you say so..."

Li Bei threw his half-eaten popsicle stick into the trash, and at that moment, Shoko, as Tiga, finally sensed it.

It's here!

Calming her thoughts, she didn't hesitate, releasing the full power of the light she'd been charging for dozens of seconds at the empty space before her.

A blinding silver ray of light erupted, crashing into a massive, black shadow that suddenly appeared in the sky above the city!

The entity was twisted beyond description. Its head resembled a huge gun barrel, its arms were a mass of machine guns, its ribs were exposed, and within them were countless terrified human faces.

Li Bei knew this was the Gun Devil, but to everyone else, it was simply an unprecedented, terrifying monster. Unlike Tiga's appearance, which had been met with awe, the Gun Devil's arrival was like a splash of cold water on a hot stove, sending the crowd into a frenzy of screams and desperate flight.

But Shoko and Li Bei had no time to care about the fleeing people. All their focus was on the Gun Devil. If they couldn't kill it here, those people would die no matter how far they ran.

In terms of size alone, the Gun Devil was even larger than Tiga, its terrifying appearance far more menacing.

The good news was that Tiga's light was extremely effective against the Gun Devil, preventing any meaningful counterattacks. The parts hit by the light were instantly vaporized, like snow exposed to fire.

The bad news was, the Gun Devil was far too big.

Being hit by Tiga's ray was like a human being shot by a bullet, instantly causing a fatal wound. However, if the bullet was too small, the person would still have time to react, even counterattack.

Shoko was facing this exact predicament. She could only watch helplessly as the muzzles on the Gun Devil's arms aimed at her, continuing to fire her ray and hoping to defeat it before it struck back.

Tiga could definitely kill the Gun Devil. Shoko could even abandon the ray and use a barrier for defense. But if she was dragged into close combat, what would happen to the crowd?

Luckily, he had multiple incarnations, Li Bei thought, feeling some relief.

The moment the Gun Devil's bullets hurtled towards Tiga, Li Bei's eyes sharpened—come on, let's see what my flames can do!

The space in front of Tiga suddenly shimmered, as if distorted by intense heat.

The Herrscher of Flames couldn't quickly and safely eliminate the Gun Devil, but she could easily help Tiga block a few attacks!
