The Vixen's Gambit: Tonight We Hunt

Chapter 128: Descending

The Gun Devil versus Tiga was always destined to end in the Gun Devil's defeat. Adding the Herrscher of Flames to the equation, who already favored Tiga, the outcome was obvious.

The Zepellion Ray obliterated the Gun Devil's heart with devastating force, even empowered by Earth's fear.

After the Gun Devil's pathetic sneak attack, it had barely lasted a minute before being effortlessly taken down by Tiga.

Is that it?

I was so tense before the fight, but it turned out to be this easy.

Watching the Gun Devil's corpse, now a pile of rotting flesh on the ground, Shoko crossed her arms and pondered, ignoring the deafening cheers from the crowd.

What should I do with this corpse?

Usually, when a monster was defeated by the light, it would explode into fireworks, right? Was it because the Gun Devil was from another world that it left behind so much non-combustible garbage?

Was it the Ultraman's job to deal with this?

The monster was dead, so cleaning up the battlefield and disposing of the corpse was surely a job for the human government, right?

And the Gun Devil's corpse didn't seem like a toxic material. She hadn't heard of any devils from the Chainsaw Man world becoming a source of contagion.

So should she just leave it?

Shoko looked at the disgusting mess, unable to bring herself to clean it up. But if she didn't, given the Japanese government's track record…

Would they just dump this thing into the ocean?

Thinking back to recent events and some movie about a giant monster being disposed of, Shoko realized that was a distinct possibility.

Why does a perfect beauty like me have to clean up garbage like this…?

But complaining was futile. It was a decision made by the main body, so Shoko had no choice but to grit her teeth and use her light to encase the corpse before silently flying off into space.

I'll just dump it on the moon. It's not like littering is a big deal.

"...He flew away."

"I saw."

"Do you think Earth will establish a Victory Team? Do you think I have a chance?"

Li Bei silently turned his head to look at Gao Ming, who was still wearing his itasha t-shirt and emitting a strong otaku aura. He offered a practical suggestion.

"Since Lihua and Tiga have appeared, maybe you should explore other ways to become a super-human. Maybe you can start using magic?"

"Oh!" Gao Ming was enlightened. "That's a good idea! I might even become a magical girl?!"

"Are you talking about Madoka Magica, Cardcaptor Sakura, or Magical Girl Site?" Liu Yue quickly retorted. "But given your perverted personality, I think you're more likely to become a mook from the villain side of a magical girl anime!"

"I'm fine with that!"

The two goofballs, having narrowly escaped death, were back to their usual antics. But Li Bei knew, that from today, Earth was going to become a real mess.

My peaceful life is officially over...

In a hotel room in Japan, Li Bei lay in bed, contemplating the day's events.

He'd thought he was invincible, but reality had slapped him in the face. The Earth was becoming increasingly dangerous, and the situation was escalating quickly.

The Herrscher of Flames was powerful, but it couldn't guarantee his peaceful life. If he hadn't had the Spark Lens, today could have ended very badly. He wouldn't be lying on a bed enjoying air conditioning; he'd be standing in the ruins, speechless.

But the Spark Lens was a one-time use item.

What would he do next time? Would he just stand by and watch people die?

Li Bei had initially been opposed to old geezers like Fu Hua from the Honkai world coming to Earth. But now he hoped that kind of thing would happen more often - he couldn't just let the monsters come to Earth. He needed some powerful, righteous forces to help maintain order!

If possible, he also needed some powerful leaders who could sort out the Earth's political situation, encouraging all countries to set aside their differences and cooperate to face the dimensional intrusions.

Li Bei didn't even need to turn on the TV to know that every channel, no matter the country, including Tokyo TV, was showing footage of Tiga battling the Gun Devil. And every country was blaming each other, distrust and recriminations all around.

Even when faced with disaster, most people wouldn't let go of their own interests.

Besides, ruling the world was no simple task. Of the people Li Bei knew, only two were probably capable of doing it.

Otto and Makima.

But both of those were way too dangerous. If either of them came to Earth, he didn't know if the planet should be rejoicing or lamenting.

But in any case, at least he was sure of one thing - his current strength wasn't enough. His plan to farm energy couldn't stop, nor could his path to power.

He needed greater combat power, and so his next incarnation would not only focus on farming energy but also on strengthening the incarnation itself. He couldn't have another incarnation like Lihua and Shoko, who could barely reach double digits in combat power.

Otherwise, the next crisis would force the main body to step in, which for Li Bei, was the worst possible outcome.

"System, prepare a new incarnation for me."

A glint of determination flashed in Li Bei's eyes. "This will be a big sale for you."

"A big sale? Host, are you planning to make a million incarnations?" the System asked, confused.

"A million? Don't underestimate me." Li Bei scoffed. "Make it a five-million-energy incarnation!"

This time, he'd make an incarnation so strong it could defeat the entire world!

"Miss Lihua, here's today's schedule..."

"Hm, put it there."

In China, Lihua sat in a chair, wearily flipping through a pile of documents.

The main body had gone into hibernation to create a new incarnation, but Lihua, who hadn't been unsummoned like Shoko, still had to stay on the outside, diligently working while waiting for her old friends from the Honkai universe to appear.
