The Vixen's Gambit: Tonight We Hunt

Chapter 126: Holy Crap, It's Light!

"Being too beautiful isn't always a good thing, you know~"

Though wearing a McDonald's bag on her head was still eye-catching, it was better than being stared at constantly or mobbed. After all, Shoko didn't have time to change her clothes. If she removed the bag, people would think she was cosplaying Shoko, and swarm her for photos.

Normally, Shoko wouldn't mind granting those small wishes. But now, she was about to transform to fight, and she was worried she might accidentally step on someone when she transformed… This was her first time becoming a beam of light; she was still inexperienced.

"Hey, look, there's a cosplayer with a really avant-garde style over there."

Gao Ming, his eyes scanning the crowd for his isekai'd waifu, quickly spotted Shoko near the edge of the venue.

"She looks kinda like Shoko, but what's with the McDonald's bag on her head?"

"Maybe she's also cosplaying Faust from the Masked Swimsuit Squad?" Liu Yue pondered. "But there's no writing on that bag…"

While those two were debating who Shoko was cosplaying, Shoko herself had reached a relatively empty spot in the venue and was silently doing warm-up exercises.

To eliminate the Gun Devil the moment it appeared, Li Bei's plan was to transform beforehand and charge the Zepellion Ray, firing it directly at the Gun Devil's face as soon as it showed up.

Thankfully, the plaza had a clock. Li Bei's Future Foresight had clearly shown the time when the Gun Devil would appear. Otherwise, with Tiga's three-minute limit, he wouldn't have had time to prepare and transform beforehand. Without a head start, the Gun Devil would inevitably cause casualties before it was defeated.

Hopefully, he could obliterate the Gun Devil with a single strike…

As Li Bei calculated the optimal time to transform, he suddenly raised his head, his expression odd.

He could distinctly sense the hidden security personnel converging on Shoko's location.

Oh, so they weren't entirely useless after all. Had they sensed Shoko's demonic aura? Or did they simply think a weirdo wearing a paper bag was suspicious?

Either way, they'd successfully located a non-human – but the bad news was, that non-human was now preparing to save humanity.

"Everyone, I know I'm as dazzling as a firefly in the dark, but please refrain from hitting on me, okay~" Shoko looked at the guards closing in on her, unconcerned.

Shoko had been surrounded countless times, but these guys were far weaker than the Public Security's Devil Hunters. They were practically useless.

Judging by their gaze, they were fixated on the bag in her hand. Oh, right. She'd thought carrying the Spark Lens around was too eye-catching, so she'd covered it with a black plastic bag… A masked weirdo carrying a bag with a cylindrical object heading into a crowd definitely looked suspicious.

But Shoko didn't have time for a misunderstanding and face-slapping scene now.

Seeing the guards looking shocked, some even reaching for their guns, Shoko casually pulled out her Spark Lens.

Instantly, the tense atmosphere dissipated.

They'd thought it was a bomb or something, but it was just a toy… That obvious thought was written all over their faces.

"Dude, Shoko + McDonald's + Faust + Spark Lens? That's a lot of stuff!" Gao Ming couldn't help but comment. "And why does it feel like she's nailed Shoko's vibe even though it's so random? My waifu isn't that outrageous!"

No, Shoko was far more outrageous than you could imagine - Li Bei wouldn't tell Gao Ming that. At least not until after the Gun Devil was dealt with. No time to waste.

Then, to the bewildered expressions of Gao Ming, Liu Yue, and all the Chinese citizens present, Shoko raised her hands, her voice clear. "Everyone, please look this way! I have an important announcement!"

"Is she, is she going to do that?!" Liu Yue cried. "She has such a beautiful voice, why does she have to do this?!"

Abstract? What was about to happen was even more outrageous than abstract.

Under everyone's watchful eye, Shoko gripped the Spark Lens and smiled. "Please stay safe everyone, and don't wander off, or I can't guarantee your safety."

The next instant, brilliant light exploded from Shoko's hands, forcing everyone nearby to instinctively close their eyes.

When the light faded, the girl in the clearing was gone, replaced by a figure that made everyone gape in awe.

A gigantic figure, with red, purple, and silver accents.

"...Am I hallucinating?" Gao Ming looked up at the massive Ultraman, dumbfounded. "I think I just saw Tiga."

"Well, looks like our hallucinations are the same." Liu Yue squeezed her cheeks, her voice muffled.

"Isn't this normal? We saw Lihua isekai'd before; is an Ultraman that weird?"

"True... but the size and impact are way beyond Lihua."

Like Gao Ming said, Lihua, despite being isekai'd, still looked human. She was a beautiful woman, and though you knew she was from another world, you subconsciously still thought of her as a normal person.

But this fifty-meter giant…

"Is the world going to end?" Gao Ming mused. "If I have to die, seeing Tiga fight something like the End of Humanity before I do is a pretty good deal."

"Before you turn into a bloodthirsty audience member, shouldn't we try to escape?!" Liu Yue showed her common sense and dragged her friends away from Tiga.

Whether Tiga was here to protect them or something else, a being that big was dangerous enough in a fight with a monster, much less just standing there.

So, the correct choice was to run!
