Chapter 8: The Little Girl’s Resistance? I’ll Crush It in Minutes:
Seeing Lin Feng’s provocation, Xu Hao smiled indifferently.
He knew this guy was just another villain swept away by the plot. He wasn’t even tempted to fight back with a song contest.
After all, Xu Hao wasn’t much of a singer, past or present.
Besides, he had no interest in performing like a circus monkey, waiting to be judged by the crowd.
The best way to deal with this was to let the girl Lin Feng admired be the one to shut him down. That would sting the most.
Xu Hao coughed lightly and patted Xia Mengyao on the shoulder, snapping her out of the daze brought on by Lin Feng’s singing.
Seeing the slight anger on Xu Hao’s face, Xia Mengyao’s heart skipped a beat. She had been too enchanted by Lin Feng’s performance, and now her boyfriend was upset. She had to make up for it!
In a flash, her eyes fell on a glass of wine sitting on the table.
Without hesitation, she stood up, grabbed the glass, and splashed the wine directly on Lin Feng’s face.
The action was so sudden that Lin Feng didn’t even have time to react before the wine hit him square in the face.
Then, Xia Mengyao’s voice, cold and distant, rang through the room.
“Who are you? I don’t even know you. Stop disturbing our gathering, and leave. I don’t want my boyfriend to get the wrong idea.”
The room fell into stunned silence.
Just moments ago, everyone had been enjoying Lin Feng’s singing, but now things had taken a sharp turn. No one expected the usually elegant and composed Xia Mengyao to act so fiercely.
But it made sense—what girl wouldn’t get mad if someone tried to confess to her in front of her boyfriend?
A few of the students in the room shot envious glances at Xu Hao.
Wow, they thought. He’s really got their class goddess wrapped around his finger.
Meanwhile, Lin Feng stood frozen, still processing what had just happened.
The rejection stung, especially in front of so many people.
And the worst part?
Xu Hao’s expression was nothing but smug amusement, as if Lin Feng was nothing but a joke to him. Though Xu Hao hadn’t said a word, the silent ridicule hit harder than any insult.

Just then, Liu Yun’s voice broke the tense silence.
“Where’d this beggar come from? Get out of here and stop ruining our party.”
Liu Yun glared at Lin Feng, his expression hostile.
He was eager to side with Xu Hao, fearing he might get caught in the crossfire if he didn’t.
So, he quickly took the chance to act like Xu Hao’s ally.
Lin Feng’s eyes narrowed, his cold gaze locking onto Liu Yun.
Memories from his past—being a homeless child, mocked and humiliated—came flooding back.
Under Lin Feng’s cold stare, Liu Yun’s bravado faltered slightly, but he forced himself to hold his ground.
“Here’s a tip for your song. Now, get lost.”
With a sneer, Liu Yun pulled out a 100-yuan bill and held it out to Lin Feng.
Lin Feng’s face darkened.
Did this guy really think he was some kind of beggar?
The tension was thick when suddenly, a soft laugh cut through the air.
All eyes turned toward Xu Hao, who had been quietly observing the scene.
“I don’t usually laugh,” he said, grinning, “but this… this is something.”
Xu Hao found the whole situation unexpectedly amusing.
He hadn’t expected Lin Feng to be insulted like this, called a beggar and even offered money. It was a level of humiliation that even Xu Hao hadn’t anticipated.
Liu Yun seemed encouraged by Xu Hao’s reaction. His posture straightened, and he looked even less intimidated by Lin Feng’s cold stare.
However, Lin Feng merely scoffed.
He had no interest in picking a fight with these ordinary people. After giving Xu Hao a long, intense stare, he turned and walked out of the room.
From beginning to end, Xu Hao hadn’t said a word to him directly.
But that lack of acknowledgment made Lin Feng even angrier.
He wanted nothing more than to punch Xu Hao right then and there, but he knew he couldn’t. This wasn’t the mountains where he was untouchable.
Still, he made a silent vow.
One day, he’d make Xu Hao regret this. He’d show him what happens when you mess with a genius doctor.
…
“What an idiot, how dare he try to confess to the class monitor.” one student muttered.
“Honestly, I’m more impressed by Xu Hao. He’s the first guy to get the class monitor so worked up. I don’t think I’ve ever seen her this mad.”
“Yeah, but… don’t you wonder who Xu Hao really is?”
As Lin Feng left, the tense atmosphere in the room began to ease.
Xu Hao, feeling that he had had enough of playing the rich, mysterious guy for the day, was ready to leave.
He said a few words to Chen Dong, who escorted him out respectfully.
Of course, Xia Mengyao followed, though she looked reluctant.
Outside, the sky had darkened.
The city was lit up with colorful neon lights, making the streets glow. People crowded the sidewalks, vendors called out their wares, and music drifted through the air.
However, Xia Mengyao felt out of place.
As she walked beside Xu Hao, they made a striking pair—him handsome, her beautiful. People glanced their way, but her mind was elsewhere.
Where was Xu Hao taking her?
Would they… would they be going to a hotel?
Panic set in as her thoughts spiraled. She had to do something. She couldn’t let this go any further!
Suddenly, she stopped.
“Young Master Xu, my parents will worry if I don’t go home soon.”
Xu Hao raised an eyebrow, a playful tone in his voice.
“It’s fine. Just tell them you’re with me. They’ll understand.”
Xia Mengyao hesitated.
Understand? Her parents would be even more worried if they knew she was with him!
“I… I don’t want to go shopping anymore…” Her voice came out small and nervous.
“Then let’s go straight to the hotel.”
Her face turned pale.
It was just as she feared—he really wanted to go to a hotel.
[Ding! Xia Mengyao’s fear value +999]
Her body trembled slightly as she bit her lip, trying to find the courage to resist.
There was no way she’d just give in to him. She’d rather face anything else than let Xu Hao take control of her like that.
“Young Master Xu, please… don’t do this. I won’t give in to you.”
Xu Hao smiled inwardly.
He admired her bravery.
It wasn’t easy to stand up to him, especially for someone in her position.
But it didn’t matter. There were many ways to get what he wanted. He wasn’t in any rush.
“Relax,” he said with a grin. “We’ll talk about the hotel later.”
Then he raised an eyebrow and added, “But as boyfriend and girlfriend, shouldn’t there be some sort of parting ritual?”
Xia Mengyao blinked in confusion.
“What ritual?”
Xu Hao tilted his chin toward the corner of the street.
She followed his gaze and saw a couple passionately kissing in the shadows. Realization dawned on her, and her heart began to race.
Was he… was he really going to ask her to do that?
