Chapter 7: The Protagonist Strikes Again? It Turns Out People Can Be So Awkward:

Inside the lively room, the atmosphere was buzzing with energy when suddenly, the door opened, and a figure stepped in. It was the protagonist, Lin Feng.

He confidently made his way through the crowd and took hold of the microphone. “Good evening, everyone,” he announced.

The crowd went silent, their gazes filled with confusion.

Who was this guy?

Did he come to the wrong party?

“You may not know me yet,” Lin Feng continued, a faint smirk playing on his lips, “but I believe you’ll soon remember my name.”

Ignoring the puzzled looks from the audience, Lin Feng kept his cool. He looked calm, as if everything was going exactly as he planned.

“My name is Lin Feng,” he declared, “and earlier, I met a girl. From the moment I saw her, I knew she was the love of my life. I’ve come here tonight to express my admiration with a song.”

As he spoke, his voice remained steady, and his expression didn’t waver. He had been thinking about his fiancée earlier, but now he claimed to be head over heels for the campus belle. Apparently, Lin Feng’s heart was wide open to many.

His eyes fell on Xia Mengyao, the brightest presence in the room.

However, the crowd exchanged confused glances.

Who was this guy?

Where did he even come from, and why is he about to sing?

“Wait a minute… did he just say his true love is the class monitor?” a voice muttered from the crowd.

Everyone’s eyes darted around, and they quickly put two and two together. Lin Feng was referring to their class monitor and the school beauty—Xia Mengyao.

At this moment, Xia Mengyao was sitting quietly beside Xu Hao. She looked like a gentle, obedient girlfriend, occasionally serving food to him as if they were an old married couple.

“What the…? Is the class monitor really that charming? She can even draw a public confession during a simple dinner!” one student whispered.

“But wait, is he serious? Didn’t he see she already has a boyfriend? Is he really planning to steal her right here?” another asked in disbelief.

“I think this guy’s out of his mind. He’s interrupting a dinner like this. Does he not know basic manners?” another person chimed in.

“Yeah, doesn’t he even realize he’s nowhere near good-looking enough to compete with those rich, second-generation guys?”

The whispers spread throughout the room, but Lin Feng merely smiled. He knew the louder they talked, the more satisfying it would be to shock them later.

He glanced at Xia Mengyao, who was busy serving food to Xu Hao and paying no attention to him.

What the heck? Lin Feng thought, his plan beginning to crumble. He had hoped to declare his feelings, create a rift between them, and swoop in for the win. He certainly hadn’t expected this.

“Just wait, once I finish my song, I’ll have all their attention.” He thought,

Growing up in the mountains with no friends, Lin Feng had spent his childhood practicing martial arts and studying medicine. The only entertainment he had was making things by hand and singing to himself. So, naturally, he was very good at singing.

He cleared his throat and smiled confidently. “For you, my lovely girl, I’d like to dedicate a song—‘Love is a Last Resort.’”

As he began to sing, his voice deepened and softened, filled with emotion. His entire demeanor shifted as if the song had transformed him. His eyes locked on Xia Mengyao, filled with affection.

The first time I saw you, I couldn’t forget your eyes. Your image is burned into my mind, and I can’t shake it away.

When I hold your hands, I feel your tenderness. It takes my breath away. I want to protect your innocence.

Lin Feng’s voice was rich and soulful, pulling the room into the world of his song. Each note carried a heavy emotion that touched the hearts of the listeners. The students couldn’t help but be drawn into the scene he painted with his voice.

Why have we met again? I didn’t want to fall into the trap of love like this, but I just can’t stop myself.

I’m scared to fall in love with you because I know I can’t give you everything. Loving you takes all the courage I have.

The lyrics spoke of deep affection, longing, and fear. It painted a vivid picture of a love so intense that nothing else mattered.

I’m scared to fall for you, but I can’t resist. The more I think of you, the more it hurts, but I can’t stop myself. Falling for you is my last resort.

After years of singing in solitude, Lin Feng’s performance was captivating.

Even Xia Mengyao, who had been avoiding him, couldn’t help but be mesmerized by the emotion in his voice. The entire room was caught in the grip of his song.

Everyone except Xu Hao, that was.

No matter how moving or artistic the song was, Xu Hao wasn’t interested. He wasn’t going to sit there and admire the performance of a guy trying to steal his girlfriend.

To be honest, Xu Hao found the whole thing ridiculous. ‘Really, dude? You just met the girl, and you’re already singing her a love song? Isn’t that a bit much?’

When the song finally ended, the students began to wake from the trance Lin Feng had cast over them. They stared at him in disbelief. This ordinary-looking guy had just blown them away with his talent.

Lin Feng, clearly pleased with himself, walked over to Xia Mengyao and looked into her eyes, filled with affection. But then, he shot a challenging glance at Xu Hao.

The entire room turned to see how Xu Hao would respond. Lin Feng had just publicly confessed to his girlfriend. How would Xu Hao handle this insult?
