Chapter 3: Thoughts
As Rui woke up, he was shocked to find himself in a crib, his last memory was him in his new mother's embrace. As he thought about it for a minute, he calmed down and thought that his mother put him into a crib while he was sleeping, that was the most logical explanation he thought.
After looking around, he found himself captivated by the moonlight streaming through the windows, casting a gentle glow on the grand room. The crib seemed enormous from his perspective, making him feel both small and awestruck. His parents were asleep nearby, their soft snores and movements lulling him with a sense of comfort.
Eager to get a closer look at his new parents, Rui mustered all his strength to lift himself up. However, his unsteady attempts at standing ended with him falling face-first onto the soft cushions. Frustration washed over him as he realized how his coordination was lacking, a consequence of his tiny, inexperienced body.
With a sigh, Rui glanced around the room, his curiosity piqued by the strange, white substance floating in the air. It reminded him of the ethereal material he had encountered during his birth, stirring up a mix of wonder and confusion within him.
"What is this substance? It passes through my hand, and I can't help but feel an odd sensation," Rui pondered, his mind filled with unanswered questions.
Rui thought aimlessly, he reflected on the recent events that he went through in his mind. Did he die on Earth? Was he still on Earth? What happened to his parents, friends, his world? How did it come to this?
"My memories are hazy, I can barely remember most of my life, they feel like what I lived then was not real, but only a dream."
Rui reflected on his current situation, he chose to forget about his past and focus on the present that he was in. He was in an unusual world and needed to focus on learning more about it.
Rui's silver eyes scanned the room, taking in its regal splendor. The massive painting of his parents, especially the man next to his mother, caught his attention. "Is that my father?" Rui questioned to himself. The figure in the portrait exuded a commanding presence, resembling a king or a legendary warrior.
A thought crossed Rui's mind, tinged with a hint of irony. "At least in this new world, I won't have to worry about working a day in my life." The opulence of the room suggested a life of privilege, shielded from the mundane concerns that burdened his previous existence.
Rui chuckled to himself, imagining a life of luxury and leisure. But deep down, he knew there was more to this world than just opulence and grandeur. There were mysteries waiting to be unraveled, adventures to be had, and knowledge to be gained.
"I wonder if this world is special, I did get, I think?, reincarnated for whatever reason. Actually, I do remember that figure saying that I have some sort of gift, I wonder what that would be..."
As Rui contemplated his newfound existence, he couldn't help but be drawn to the enigmatic white substance that floated through the air. With a sense of curiosity, he reached out his tiny hand, watching in fascination as the substance passed through his fingers. It sent a peculiar tingling sensation up his arm, both foreign and intriguing.
Lost in his thoughts, Rui's attention shifted back to the room itself. The grandeur and elegance that surrounded him hinted at a world far different from the one he had known. He couldn't deny the allure of the lavish lifestyle that awaited him, but he also yearned for something deeper, something meaningful.
A glimmer of purpose ignited within Rui, urging him to explore his surroundings and uncover the secrets of this new world. He knew that he possessed a unique gift, mentioned by the figure that guided him during his transition. The mention of this gift stirred a sense of anticipation and wonder within him, fueling his desire to discover its nature and purpose.
With determined resolve, Rui carefully maneuvered his way to the edge of the crib, using the bars for support. It was a challenging feat, his unsteady limbs and lack of coordination hindering his progress. However, he refused to be deterred, embracing the process of learning and growth that lay before him.
As he stood there, wobbling yet determined, he realized that he would need time to develop his physical abilities.
The world beyond the crib beckoned, but for now, he would focus on strengthening his muscles, honing his coordination, and embracing the wonders of his immediate surroundings.
Rui kept thinking about what type of world he was brought into, was it some time period in the past? Or was it some whole new world filled with magic and wonders? Rui hoped for the latter. It was what he always wanted! Splitting mountains with one sword swing and flying through the air at breakneck speed! Who didn't want that?
Rui's imagination ran wild as he envisioned himself soaring through the sky, wielding powerful magic, and embarking on epic adventures. The possibilities seemed endless, and the mere thought of such a world filled his heart with excitement and anticipation.
Yet, Rui knew that his current reality might not align with his fantasies. He was just a newborn baby, barely able to stand on his own. He didn't even know if this world was special but there was hope.
The journey to becoming a mighty warrior or a master of magic seemed distant and daunting. However, he refused to let discouragement overshadow his spirit.
"I may be small and powerless now, but I won't remain this way forever," Rui thought to himself, determination glinting in his eyes. "I'll grow stronger, uncover the secrets of this world, and fulfill my purpose."
