THE PATH TO SUPREMACY

Chapter 4: Curious

With each passing day, Rui made small but steady progress in his physical development. He practiced standing for longer periods while holding onto the grib and doing any sort of movement to develop his muscle as quickly as possible, with this, Rui gradually gained stability and balance every day.

However, he couldn't help but be drawn to the floating substance. Whenever he reached out to touch it, he felt a surge of mysterious energy coursing through his veins. It was as if the substance itself responded to his touch, resonating with his presence.

While Rui was engrossed in his own internal discoveries, his parents showered him with unconditional love and care. They marveled at his every milestone, from his first babbling sounds to his feeble attempts at crawling. They were there to support him, guiding him through the early stages of his life, unaware of the depth of his introspective musings and the awakening of his innate curiosity.

As time went on, Rui's determination bore fruit. He could now stand without faltering while only hanging onto walls or a supporting structure. The world beyond the confines of his crib beckoned with its untold wonders, and Rui yearned to explore it. However, he knew that he still had much to learn and discover within the immediate surroundings of his grand room.

The grand room became his domain, a place where he could unravel the mysteries that intrigued him. He observed the paintings adorning the walls, depicting scenes of valor and ancient legends. Each stroke of the artist's brush seemed to whisper tales of heroism and triumph, igniting a spark of courage within Rui's heart.

Every time he was lifted out of his crib, it felt like a newfound experience for Rui. He began to notice that even mundane tasks, such as picking up objects, cooking with a frying pan, or even just lighting a candle, somehow involved the use of the transparent white substance that he sees. "Is it like mana or some sort of energy in the air? The feeling is like no other in my previous life." It fascinated him to no end.

"I wonder if everyone can see what I am seeing?" As he was deep in thought, he got served his food, and it looked like dog food...

Rui expected this since he still remembers the baby food on Earth and what he always gets given here isn't much better. Still, Rui tries to force the food down, knowning he has to get better, faster, stronger than the day before if Rui thinks he is in the world he thinks he is.

After enough time to think about it, Rui concluded that this world was not a normal one. There was no electricity, no phones, nothing resembling the modern conveniences of Earth. It was like being transported back to the medieval ages, in a realm of magic and mythical creatures.

6 Months Later.

Rui found himself still confined to the house. Though he was grateful for the love and care of his parents, his growing curiosity consumed him. He had to stay calm and patient, understanding that if he was in a noble household and in a maybe magical world, perhaps they did not want to reveal his existence to the outside world.

The floating substance, continued to aimlessly drift around Rui and his surroundings. He had grown accustomed to the sensation of touching the mysterious energy, but he wanted to go further. He NEEDED to go further he thought.

So one night, when everyone was asleep, he decided to try something new.

"What if I try to will this substance to move?" he thought to himself.

With a surge of determination, he forced his baby body into a lotus position, puts his tiny hands on his knees and sat there, waiting for something to occur...

"This is what people do right? Am I supposed to do something?"

Rui imagined something like a core or dantian like in the novels he read in his previous life.

"This is harder than I thought."
