Chapter 31: The Epic Sleepover: Part Six
"Everyone..." spoke Olivier, whose hands flared up with magical energy.
"I hope you're all ready for a fight, because like it or not...We're getting one."
(("ATTACK!")) commanded King Andrias, drawing out a sword with a superheated blade.
As the Frobots all fired their rockets at the group, Olivier acted first before anyone.
Raising his hand up and drawing a blue ring of light that he then pressed like a large button.
In an instant, there was a burst of energy that enveloped everyone in a dome of blue energy,
which caused time instantly to slow to a crawl, seemingly freezing the flying rockets in mid-air.
"whooooaa...I've never seen a spell like THIS before!" spoke Luz, astonished.
Olivier grinned in response. "thank you...It's one of my special skills."
"COOL!" exclaimed Luz, giddy. "Can you teach me!?"
"LATER. We need to move, NOW!" exclaimed Olivier. "My Spell won't last forever!"
Sure enough, the frozen rockets slowly began to resume moving again.
Grimacing, Olivier quickly drew a large golden ring of light and jumped through it.
His body now glowing bright gold, he moved like a lightning bolt as he relocated everyone away.
His first spell finally ended...and the rockets all collided in the same area,
causing a massive explosion that knocked everyone off their feet.
"OLLIEEEE!" screamed Anne in fear, her hazel eyes turning cyan blue.
In a flash of gold, Olivier reappeared before everyone. Looking completely unharmed.
"Wow!, that was FAST!" exclaimed Willow, stunned.
"yeah." spoke Amity, also stunned. "I thought only the Golden Guard could move THAT quickly!"
Willow smirked. "Well, Ollie WAS glowing Gold for a moment."
As the Frog-like Robots advanced, Olivier ignited both his hands with Gold and Blue energy
and lobbed flaring orbs of magic at the machines that burst like grenades upon impact.
"Hey!, Whadda we doing just STANDING AROUND FOR!?" exclaimed Luz, as she drew out a Glyph Slip.
"Let's help him fight these things before he actually gets hurt!"
The group all charged ahead, attacking a given Frobot with their respective abilities.
Amity and Willow teamed up using Wild Vines and Abomination Tendrils to strike at a distance,
as well as wrap around a cluster of bots and crushed them like the coils of a python.
Luz slapped Fire and Ice Glyphs onto individual Frobots like stickers,
Causing them to either combust into flames, or freeze into solid ice.
Anne called upon her Calamity Powers to sprint in a streak of cyan light,
and punch the Frobots with supercharged fists that actually did some damage.
Olivier drew out his Staff, and along with Maddie...Performed various magic attacks,
While Polly...simply used a Medieval flail like a mini-wrecking ball.
"THIS IS TOTALLY AWESOOOME!" exclaimed Luz, hopping like a Jack-Rabbit.
Anne proceeded to tackle Luz before she was hit by a stray rocket.
"WHOA!" exclaimed Luz.
"Luz, FOCUS!" snapped Anne. "This may be a Simulation, but it's a VERY serious fight!"
"r-right, Sorry." said Luz (forcing herself to calm down.)
Amity was watching from afar, and breathed a sigh of relief at Luz being okay.
But she then looked to Willow, who was struggling to hold back a horde of machines advancing towards her.
"AHH!" exclaimed Willow, whose knee got burned from stray laser fire.
"WILLOW!" Amity rushed forward, summoning Abomination tendrils...
...However, Olivier suddenly sped past her in a golden light.
Materializing a blade of energy from his hand, he literally sliced through the machines.
Once the danger was clear, he (and then Amity) ran to Willow and helped her up.
"Thanks." said Willow, adjusting her glasses.
"TITAN, this is too much!" exclaimed Amity.
Olivier rolled his eyes.
"It wouldn't be THIS HARD if you'd stop wasting time fighting them one-by-one.
Aren't you able to summon your own army of Sludge Monsters!?, orrr...did you forget?!"
Amity froze, feeling like the Realm's Greatest Idiot. "crap."
With a grumble, Amity's eyes glowed pink as she summoned numerous Abominations.
The Formless Creatures then began to engage the Frobots individually.
At last, granting the party a much needed breather.
"IMPRESSIVE..." spoke a deep voice.
Olivier and Anne scowled as everyone looked up at the illusion that was King Andrias.
The towering Newt King bearing a smug grin as he continued to brandish the heated blade of his sword.
"MAGIC TRULY IS FASCINATING. NO WONDER MY FATHER FEARED IT SO..."
Luz looked to Anne...who was growling angrily, her eyes burning bright blue.
The Thai Girl started to flare up with incredible energy...when Olivier grabbed her hand.
"no, annie." spoke Olivier, his voice soft.
"the first time you fought him, it nearly killed you: It's MY TURN, this time."
Anne's blue energy faded as she looked at Olivier...who was already walking away.
Willow and Amity then ran up to Olivier. "We'll back you up, Ollie!" said Willow.
Olivier looked at his two childhood friends...and then moved them aside. "no need...I can handle this myself."
Amity looked at Olivier. "are you SURE?"
Olivier cast a glare towards Amity. "I'm not as weak as you THINK I am."
"That isn't what I mea-"
Olivier ignored Amity, and walked off...Approaching King Andrias.
"DON'T FIGHT ME BOY...NOT WHEN YOU KNOW I CAN HELP YOU." spoke Andrias.
Olivier rolled his eyes, having heard this same conversation once before.
BUT, he decided to let the illusion of the Newt King continue to speak.
"I KNOW HOW YOUR WORLD IS UNDER THE TYRANNICAL RULE OF THIS EMPEROR BELOS..." continued King Andrias.
"HELP ME WITH MY INVASION...AND I WILL NOT ONLY RETURN YOU HOME,
BUT I WILL *DESTROY* THIS EMPEROR FOR YOU...AND MAKE *YOU* THE BOILING ISLE'S NEW RULER."
Luz, Amity and Willow gasped at this, their minds already imagining this Giant Newt King
invading the Isles that they call home, and attacking the Emperor's Palace...
Part of them liked the idea of Belos FINALLY getting what he deserved,
but it also horrified them that someone like this King Andrias INTENDED to attack the Boiling Isles to begin with.
Luz trembled, finally feeling the gravity of this new threat
She thought Belos and the 'Day of Unity' was the worst thing she had to deal with.
But, if this guy ever showed up...Then all of that wouldn't even matter.
Luz hoped that Anne and Olivier had already stopped this guy.
and that this whole illusion really was a simulation of his defeat.
"SO, WHADDA YA SAY?" spoke King Andrias once more.
Olivier breathed in deep...and then suddenly disappeared in a flash of light.
"Where'd he-?!"
Suddenly, a series of blinding flashes ignited all over King Andrias.
The giant roared as he was mercilessly attacked by some invisible enemy.
Andrias then fell to his knees, dropping his sword...which then disappeared out of thin air.
"HEERK!" King Andrias gasped as he felt a burning pain in his chest.
Everyone then stared in shock at the sight of the massive, burning sword
now driven straight through the Giant's torso...it's blade piercing through his chest.
There was one last flash...and Olivier appeared.
He glanced back to the others, His eyes as cold as the most frigid ice.
Olivier then looked back at the impaled Andrias...who groaned as he looked down at him.
"what...have you...d-done?"
Olivier glared up at the tyrant king without a shred of remorse.
"what I should've done back then." said Olivier, his voice colder than Ice.
King Andrias paused...and then chuckled. It started low..and then started to grow.
And as he laughed, his form began to flicker as the illusion holding him together began to unravel.
He started to glitch in-and-out between different forms and his own.
One of a dark haired, Taiwanese girl dressed like an explorer with a similar blade in her chest.
And one of a figure clad in black armor, wearing a horned helmet with three glowing eyes like fire.
THIS form cackled like a demon before disappearing...along with the rest of the illusion.
As the alien throne room faded away, and the 'Peril Chamber' finally returned.
Olivier dropped down to one knee, groaning as he tried to support himself with a fist to the floor.
"OLIVIER!"
Everyone rushed over. Amity attempted to help Olivier up,
but he expectedly slapped her hand away while casting her a glare.
When Anne attempted to help him, he unsurprisingly accepted.
"Ollie, are you okay?" spoke Anne, obviously worried.
Olivier nodded. "ye-yeah...I just need to...c-catch my breath."
Anne leaned in closer, her eyes locked with his. "Are you SURE that you're okay?"
Looking into Anne's hazel brown eyes, Olivier could almost hear her thoughts.
He knew she was concerned over how he chose to end that fight with the King Andrias illusion.
Olivier then touched Anne's cheek and kissed her forehead. "I will be...i'm sorry if I scared you."
Anne paused before giving a small smile.
While she wasn't convinced fully, she was content that Olivier was calmer now
(though she fully intended to have a lengthy conversation with him LATER.)
"was...Was that the Salamander King that you spoke about before?" asked Amity.
Olivier eyed Amity Blight. "NEWT. He's a Newt King, and yes...that was him.
Like Emperor Belos, he puts on this act of False Kindness to conceal his true, dark nature.
Though to give Belos credit, Andrias tries way too hard to be convincing...(*grumbles*) i should've seen the signs."
"And...he wants to invade our home?!" spoke up Willow, worry in her voice.
"He wants to invade EVERYONE'S home: Earth, The Demon Realm, and Titan only knows how many more." answered Olivier.
"THEN WE HAFTA STOP HIM!" exclaimed Luz. "You...*DID* stop him, right?"
Olivier and Anne looked at each other with expressions that didn't inspire confidence.
"Oh, maldita sea." cursed Luz. "Nosotras estamos tan jodidas!"
Before Either Olivier, or Anne could say anything else...Something then dropped from the ceiling.
"THAT WAS AWESOME!" exclaimed Sprig (while clutching an ivory crystal orb.)
"SPRIG!?" exclaimed Anne, both angry and relieved.
"THERE you are..." spoke Olivier, sternly. "And I see you have the Keystone."
Sprig looked at the glowing object in his hands. "Is that what this is?"
"YOU MEAN THIS WHOLE DING-DANGED THING WAS "YOUR FAULT!?" exclaimed Polly, Madder than Fire.
Maddie gave Polly a glance. "Are you REALLY that surprised?!"
Polly scowled. "no...BUT I'M STILL MAD!"
Sprig hunkered down, Realizing he was in trouble.
"I-I'm sorry. But, I just wanted to explore this amazing place!"
Olivier grinned. "True. BUT, you won't get anywhere by buttering me up."
"No, I mean it. This place is AMAZING!" exclaimed Sprig, hopping like the Frog he is.
"I then found this awesome room, and thought it'd be a better sleepover place!"
Luz looked at Olivier and Anne. "Well, he's not wrong."
"I then saw that shiny orb thing, and-"
"And you couldn't stop yourself from touching it." finished Olivier, finally taking the Crystal Orb.
Sprig looked down. "yes."
"SPRIG...Buddy, How many times must we go through this?!" spoke Anne.
"You can't keep touching everything you see. ESPECIALLY if it's Big & Shiny.
I've lost count all the times of all the times we've both nearly been killed
BECAUSE of you touching something that you weren't supposed to, and triggering some Death Trap!"
"And I wasn't even there for HALF of those times." added Olivier.
As Sprig frowned, Amity walked up and knelt down to him.
"Go easy on the little guy..." said Amity, as she picked up Sprig.
"He hasn't done anything that WE haven't done when we were his age."
Polly gave Amity a sarcastic look.
"well...MOST of us." corrected Amity, blushing. "Remember the first time we had a sleepover at my home?"
Olivier crossed his arms, and looked away. "no."
Amity scowled, but continued.
"Well, *I* do. You were so wide-eyed at my family's mansion,
that you spent most of the night running down the halls, GRABBING my mom's expensive stuff!"
Anne, Luz and Willow giggled at this.
"I recall you didn't seem to have a problem with it at the time." grumbled Olivier.
"AH-HA!, so you DO remember!" exclaimed Amity (still holding Sprig like a plushie.)
"I remember your 'HAG' of a mother hated that I was even there." continued Olivier, still grumbling.
"Didn't help that you actually did rob her." said Amity.
Luz and Anne gasped at this.
"Okay, FIRST: That was all Mom's Idea. SECOND: Your family is FILTHY rich, so they could afford it.
And THIRD: I didn't act alone. *YOU* were right there with me filling up a burlap sack full of artifacts!"
"Only because *YOU* told me we were playing Pirates!" retorted Amity.
"TECHNICALLY we were." smirked Olivier. "Especially with my mom hiding in a bush outside for the loot."
"It was kinda fun throwing stuff out the window." commented Willow.
Amity, Willow and even Olivier chuckled together as they reminisced the happier memory.
Luz then grabbed Anne, excited that Olivier was FINALLY getting along with Amity.
...but then the wrong thing was spoken.
"Mom was SO FURIOUS. I was certain she'd never allow you back again." laughed Amity.
Olivier's smile quickly turned to a scowl. "well, she *eventually* got her wish...Didn't She?"
Amity grimaced, realizing what she just said. "W-WAIT!, W-What I *MEANT* to say was-!"
But, Olivier turned and walked away before Amity could finish her sentence.
Luz breathed out sharply, disappointed. *so close..*
Amity looked as Olivier departed...and then glared with determination.
The golden eyed witch girl then released Sprig, ran up, and snatched the keystone from Olivier's hands.
"WHAT IN BLAZES!?" exclaimed Olivier, looking at Amity angrily.
Amity then closed her eyes, and raised the ivory orb above her head.
In her mind, she focused with all her might on a pleasant memory, ANY memory.
'Just ONE memory of when She and Olivier were the BEST of friends.'
The Keystone then glowed, and shot a beam of light into the hanging crystals up above.
Which proceeded to shine brighter and brighter, momentarily blinding everyone.
When their vision returned, the group found that the chamber had transformed yet again...
