Chapter 32: The Epic Sleepover: Part Seven
Amity looked as Olivier departed...and then glared with determination.
The golden eyed witch girl then ran up, and snatched the keystone from Olivier's hands.
"WHAT IN BLAZES!?" exclaimed Olivier, looking at Amity angrily.
Amity then closed her eyes, and raised the ivory orb above her head.
In her mind, she focused with all her might on a pleasant memory, ANY memory.
'Just ONE memory of when She and Olivier were the BEST of friends.'
The Keystone then glowed, and shot a beam of light into the hanging crystals up above.
Which proceeded to shine brighter and brighter, momentarily blinding everyone.
When their vision returned, the group found that the chamber had transformed yet again.
The group were now in a room that looked like it belonged to a Medieval princess,
where a girl sat alone on a frilly bed with her arms hugging her legs.
The girl was instantly recognized to be Amity Blight.
...Or, a much younger version of Amity since her hair was all light brown.
"AWW...It's Little Amity!" cooed Luz.
Olivier immediately snatched the Keystone back from the real Amity.
"I don't know what you are trying to pull, But you are treading THIN ICE with me, Bli-"
Olivier then stopped upon hearing a rapid tap at the window.
Everyone then looked (as well as the illusion of the younger Amity Blight)
to see none other than a much younger version of Olivier at the window.
(to which Anne and Luz just cooed at such a high pitch, it was enough to crack glass.)
"oh...no." groaned Olivier, realizing what was happening.
The group watched as the younger Amity got off her bed, and opened the window.
"Ollie!?...What in Titan's name are you doing outside my window?!" spoke Amity.
Olivier tumbled into the room...and then stood up,
acting like he just performed an impressive gymnastic feat.
"Sorry for the Rapunzel Act," began Little Olivier.
"but, when I tried the front door, all I got was one of those Sludge Butlers
that quite literally threw me out before I could get a word in...SO, I scaled the building."
Amity looked shocked. "That's CRAZY!, you could've fallen and broken your neck!"
"Among other bones, too!" chirped Olivier, smiling.
"hey...what's wrong? Your eyes look red." said Olivier, now concerned.
Amity wiped her eyes, and looked away. "it's nothing."
Olivier walked around his friend...and pulled her hand away.
"and, WHY does your cheek have a big, red handprint on it?" asked the boy.
Amity tried to hide this (to no avail.) "It's noth-"
"she hit you again, didn't she?"
Amity looked at Olivier...her eyes then welled up in tears.
Unable to hold herself back, the girl cried while Little Olivier hugged her.
"there-there...it's okay." spoke Olivier, softly.
"I...I don't know what I did wrong." sobbed Little Amity. "I was just trying to-"
"shh...It's okay. I get it: Your Mom being a Bwitch." said Olivier, softly.
"a what?"
"a Bwitch." repeated Olivier. "Don't ask me what it means...but my mom calls your mom that all the time."
Anne snickered at this...as did Luz, Willow, and the Frog children.
Olivier scowled, blushing bright red as he tried to suppress the urge to smile as well.
"Hey, I just noticed something: They can't see us!" noted Luz.
"No. this is just a memory." explained Olivier.
"While this room is usually used for combat practice, it has other uses as well.
Remember: The Keystone can read your mind to project illusions based on your thoughts.
Well, it can also be used to relive memories...IF you are into that sorta thing."
"Cool!" chirped Anne. "So it really is like a magical version of VR!"
Both Amity and Willow stared at Anne (as did Maddie, and even Sprig and Polly.)
"VR. You know: Virtual Reality." explained Anne.
"Except in my world, you need to wear a headset for that kind of immersion."
Olivier eyed his girlfriend. "Marcy?"
Anne nodded. "yeah...Marcy."
Olivier breathed out as he continued to watch the recreated memory with the others.
Amity smiled. "I like your mom...she's nicer than mine."
Olivier smiled back. "I'm sure she'll be thrilled to hear you say that."
"I'm...actually glad that you're here." spoke Amity.
"I could use someone to talk to...and I can't reach Willow for some reason."
"Probably because she is on a family outing with her dads." remarked Olivier.
"I couldn't reach her either. SO, I decided to visit my OTHER best friend."
Amity smiled again...she then hugged Olivier. "thank you."
"I have an idea!" spoke Olivier. "Let's sneak out, and have ourselves some fun in town."
Amity looked unsure. "I don't know...I wouldn't want to make my mom angrier with me."
"She won't." said Olivier. "We'll just say that I kidnapped you...THEN she'll just be mad at me."
Amity (as well as Anne, Luz and Willow) looked at Olivier like he was insane.
"Are you CRAZY!?"
Olivier smiled in a way that made him resemble his mother "yeah...Like a FOX."
Olivier then walked over to Amity's bed, and then looked over to her.
"Can you summon an Abomination to look like you?" asked Little Olivier.
"You mean an Abomination Clone? Sure!, I mastered it last week."
Amity then drew a lavender spell circle, summoning a lump of purple sludge.
She then waved her glowing hands, mystically shaping the sludge into something that vaguely resembled her.
"I think I see what you're planning...But, it won't fool mom." said Amity.
Olivier grinned as he took out a shiny amulet. "It will in just a second."
Before Amity could say anything, Olivier placed the amulet
around the neck of the Abomination Amity...which glowed, and began to cast an illusion over it.
The Abomination now looked EXACTLY like Amity down to the last detail.
"How did-"
"borrowed some of my Mom's magic charms." answered Little Olivier.
"You never know when you might need 'Mimic' to stand in for you in a tight spot."
Little Amity looked at her literal clone...and smiled. "This is pretty impressive."
"THAT IS SO COOL!" exclaimed Luz, Astonished
"I never thought to do THAT!, Ohh, I can't wait to tell Gus!"
Olivier breathed out sharply, feeling flustered.
"it's not THAT impressive. In fact, it's 'kinda' cheating, in retrospect."
"Don't care: It's Cool." said Luz, bluntly.
"Ditto, Dude!" added Anne, smiling like Luz was as she hugged Olivier from behind.
Olivier then looked down as Maddie began to tug at his pants leg.
"I also think it's pretty cool, too...even if it DOES involve those gross Abomination things."
Amity frowned, feeling a little offended at her favored magic type being called 'Gross.'
Olivier exhaled sharply...and then smiled as he patted the frog girl's head. "thank you, Maddie."
Maddie smiled in an oddly cute/creepy way.
"Okay, get it on the bed and cover her up." spoke Olivier.
"If your mom comes back to check on you, she'll think you're still here."
Amity mystically commanded her duplicate to climb onto the bed and lay down.
She and Little Olivier then pulled some blankets over it, thus setting up the trick.
"Alright, LET'S GO!" exclaimed Olivier, running for the window.
"Wait...We're leaving out the window?" inquired Amity.
"well, YEAH. We can't walk out the door...We'll get caught!" said Olivier.
Amity stepped back, feeling reluctant and unsure. "I don't know..."
Olivier turned to face the girl. "hey, I promise I won't let anything happen to you.
You're my Best Friend, Ami. And I'll always be there for you."
Amity blushed...and then finally took his hand. "okay...I trust you."
Amity then walked behind Little Olivier, and hopped up onto his back.
Clinging to him by his neck, Olivier climbed out of the window, and began scaling the exterior of Blight Manor.
"Okay, I think we're done here-"
"Oh, don't you DARE stop this now, Olivier Clawthorne!" spoke Anne, sternly.
"Not when it's getting good!, I SOOO gotta see where this goes."
Olivier growled in annoyance. "Believe me, it doesn't go anywhere good."
"I beg to differ." said Amity. "I remember us having fun that day-"
Before Olivier could retort, there was another bright flash.
The group transitioned to a new setting from Amity's Room, to a high rise in Bonesborough.
"oh no." spoke Olivier, Remembering just what this memory entailed now. "Nooooooo..."
Amity stared down at the steep slope in a part of town that was oddly empty.
She then looked back as Little Olivier rolled a cart over, and positioned it.
"What exactly are we doing here, Ollie?" asked Amity.
"Trying out something that my Mom once did with Rad when she was our age." answered Olivier.
Little Amity raised an eyebrow in confusion. "Rad?"
"Oh, sorry...I meant: Raine Whispers." corrected Little Olivier.
"They were Mama's best friend growing up...Kinda like US, actually."
"Oh."
Olivier then placed a small stirring pot onto Amity's head.
He then did the same, placing a Colander onto his head like a makeshift helmet.
He guided her into the cart before hopping in as well.
The two kids then stared down at the long, empty road that lay before them.
"This'll be AWESOME if we survive!" exclaimed Olivier, excited.
Amity shook like a leaf, and then wrapped her arms TIGHTLY around her friend.
"Three..." spoke Olivier.
"I REALLY don't think this is a good idea." muttered Amity.
"Two..."
"Why don't we read a BOOK, instead?!" spoke Amity, quickly.
"I think a new Azura, the Good Witch book came out just-"
"ONE!"
With that, Olivier thrust forward, moving the cart past the point of no return.
In no time at all, the cart began rolling down the slope...until it was speeding at a ludicrous speed.
"AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH!" screamed Amity, wailing like a Banshee.
"YEEEEEEEEEEAAAAHHH!" exclaimed Olivier.
As the runaway cart sped down the slope, random bystanders stopped whatever they were doing
once they heard the very 'Siren-like', and gaped in awe at the speeding cart that ran past them.
"WHOA!, That looks awesome!" exclaimed Sprig. "I wanna try that now!"
Anne looked at Olivier, and smiled. "Yeah, Ollie. That DOES look like fun!
DANG, I had no idea you were such a Daredevil!"
Olivier's face turned red as a Tomato (which Amity couldn't help but chuckle at.)
"I was just a dumb kid back then." grumbled Olivier.
"a dumb, stupid kid who thought he was Invincible...but I couldn't had been more wrong."
Amity looked at Olivier. she was about to say something, when Anne beat her to it.
"Hey, we ALL did dumb things as kids." began Anne.
"Heck, I was the poster child of irresponsibility before ending up in Amphibia."
Olivier paused, and then shrugged in response.
"On a more positive note, it IS nice to see how happier you used to be." continued Anne.
"Almost makes me wish I, Sasha, and Marcy had known you back then."
Olivier finally smiled. "So do I, Annie...so do I."
Amity scowled, feeling a hint of jealousy towards Anne (though, she had no idea why.)
As the Cart picked up more speed, Amity's screams of terror
soon turned into laughter that nearly mirrored Olivier's.
but soon both kids stopped smiling upon seeing the literal end of the road.
"uh-oh." spoke Olivier, realizing the danger.
"WE'RE GONNA DIE!" exclaimed Amity, freaking the 'F-Word' out.
"N-No We're Not!" stuttered Olivier. "I've G-Got This!"
Olivier quickly drew a spell circle in the air, and fired a golden beam straight ahead.
The spell impacted the ground, and quickly formed into a hard light construct of a trackway.
The Cart sped onto the literal makeshift track, speeding over a sheer drop.
Amity then looked over her side of the cart...and gasped in awe at the vast cityscape.
"oh, my titan..." gasped Amity.
"this is...Wonderful! I've never seen the city like this befo-"
Amity's joy quickly faded once she noticed Olivier groaning like he were sick.
The boy was still maintaining their track with his magic,
and being fully aware of his 'condition', Amity knew he couldn't keep this up for long.
"oh, no...Ollie, For the love of Titan: DO NOT PASS OUT ON US NOW!"
To Olivier's credit, his level of endurance was incredible for a boy his age.
He resisted the urge to blackout, and focused on directing his makeshift track somewhere safe.
After twisting around a larger building, Olivier directed the cart onto a sloping hill
that was at the very outskirts of Bonesborough before he finally fainted...and the track promptly disappeared.
Amity quickly caught Olivier...JUST in time to see an oncoming tree stump.
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRGGGGGGHHHHH!" screamed Amity...
...as she and Olivier were sent flying forward upon the cart crashing into the stump at top speed.
The two children flew into the air, before finally crashing into a tree.
Amity breathed out as she and Olivier were now hanging from the branches like a pair of Apples.
...It was THEN, that Olivier awoke.
"uhhh...Oh-kay." spoke Olivier, half-dazed. "Why are we in a tree, Mitty?"
After this whole scene transpired, there was nothing but laughter coming from Anne, Luz, Sprig and Polly, and even Willow.
"OH-MY-GAWD, That was SO AWESOME!" exclaimed Anne (still laughing.)
"DIDJA SEE THAT MAGICAL TRACK!?, It was like something out of HOT WHEELS!" added Luz (ALSO, still laughing.)
"Oh, we GOTTA try that out!" exclaimed Polly.
"Only when the Titan HIMSELF rises up from the boiling sea..." grumbled Olivier, embarrassed.
Sensing his anxiety, Anne walked from Luz for a moment and approached her boyfriend.
"hey. we're only kidding around, Ollie. don't get upset." said Anne, softly.
Olivier looked at Anne, and then exhaled. "I know...i'm sorry. I just...don't like reliving the past."
Amity frowned upon hearing this.
"Not even happier memories?" asked Anne.
"Happy Memories hurt the most." spoke Olivier. "...because I know where it all ended."
Before anyone else could say anything in response, the memory continued...
