The God of Ice and Fire at Hogwarts

Chapter 21: Fierce fighting

Lynn's entire body tensed as he remained in his original position, letting the cold wind of Hogsmeade blow over him.

About ten minutes later, the sound of slow footsteps was heard.

"Casiraghi! It's been over forty years since Grindelwald was defeated by Dumbledore. Haven't you given up yet?"

The voice of Professor Green rang out, tinged with coldness.

Casiraghi was obviously the name of the dark-robed wizard, and based on Professor Green's words, Casiraghi must have been one of Grindelwald's subordinates during his reign of terror.

Casiraghi spoke in a hoarse voice, his tone filled with hatred: "I've been chasing you for over forty years, Green. You used that damn Muggle weapon to harm the great master. You're right—the master's disgrace! As a former member of the Santos, I will kill you for that!"

Upon hearing this, Professor Green chuckled dryly, his tone mocking: "Master? Santos? Casiraghi, you're nothing more than a stray dog that Grindelwald himself expelled from the Santos. What right do you have to speak of him?"

Hearing the professor's sarcastic words, Casiraghi grew even angrier: "Expelled? If it hadn't been for those three damned Muggles appearing out of nowhere while I was chasing you and dying under my Incendio Curse, how could the master have expelled me? Green, we have a mortal grudge, and today is the day to settle it!"

Professor Green drew his wand. Without hesitation, he silently cast a Disarming Charm, sighing. "That's enough. I'm a professor at Hogwarts now. To prevent you from going mad and harming my students, you must die here today."

Casiraghi waved his wand, casting a silent Protego shield. The blue light shot out like lightning, colliding with Professor Green's Expelliarmus, and the two spells canceled each other out in a bright explosion.

"Confringo!"

Professor Green swiftly followed up with another spell, a flash of yellow light bursting forward, radiating with dangerous energy.

At the same time, with a subtle movement of his left hand, Professor Green cast a silent, wandless spell. A pale, grayish-white light darted through the air at a tricky angle, aimed at Casiraghi's blind spot, while the Confringo advanced toward him.

This grayish-white light was a Blasting Curse, a spell akin to a smaller version of Confringo. It could destroy solid obstacles but lacked the destructive secondary explosions of its more powerful counterpart.

Though Casiraghi didn't see Professor Green's subtle movement, his years of combat experience told him that the attack couldn't be that simple.

"Protego Maxima!"

Casiraghi shouted as he swung his wand, creating a massive magical barrier around himself.

As expected, both spells exploded against the edge of his barrier. The violent blasts dimmed the protective light surrounding him.

"Diffindo!"

Casiraghi quickly flicked his wand, and though he only said the incantation once, dozens of Severing Charms shot out in all directions, moving with the force of thunder toward Professor Green.

This was an advanced and clever casting technique. Casiraghi often flicked his wand, interrupting the continuous flow of magic through his body. This allowed magic to be channeled intermittently, producing weaker versions of the Severing Charm. What would normally have been a single powerful attack became dozens of moderately strong ones, creating a more unpredictable threat.

"Reducto!"

Professor Green reacted quickly. He silently shattered a stone on the ground with a Confringo and then used Reducto, sending countless stone fragments into the air to intercept the incoming Severing Charms.

The fragments struck the beams with precision, creating explosions mid-air.

Professor Green successfully neutralized all of Casiraghi's attacks with minimal losses.

However, Casiraghi's attacks grew increasingly rapid. Unlike the standard magic used by Professor Green, Casiraghi's spells relied heavily on Dark Magic. When two opponents of similar strength clashed, Dark Magic often had the upper hand.

As an alchemist, Professor Green's expertise in Dark Magic was naturally inferior to that of Casiraghi, a Santos veteran with countless battles under his belt—even if Casiraghi had been expelled.

Suddenly, a black-red flame erupted from Casiraghi's wand. The flame consumed everything in its path, growing larger and larger, until it took the shape of monstrous creatures: a massive fire serpent, a fiery hound, and others, all charging furiously toward Professor Green.

This level of intense fire couldn't be extinguished by a single spell. Faced with this predicament, Professor Green was forced to rely on his most advanced alchemical techniques.

Only a master alchemist like Professor Green could truly apply alchemy in battle.

Professor Green raised his wand and waved it. Alchemical runes appeared in the air, glowing gold without the aid of a carving tool or any physical medium.

The runes glowed brilliantly, connected by golden magical threads, forming an alchemical array.

The creation of the array took only an instant. As Professor Green poured his magic into it, countless beams of light shot out from the array, striking the fiery beasts summoned by the Dark Flames.

The golden light fell like meteors from the heavens, overwhelming the fiery creations until they could barely lift their heads.

Watching this scene from a distance, Lynn couldn't help but feel awe.

Surely, this was the ultimate form of battle alchemy!

Lynn thought to himself.

On the battlefield, Casiraghi faced the golden rain, but showed no intention of retreating. He continuously unleashed magical power, summoning fireballs that hurtled toward Professor Green one after another.

At the same time, Professor Green completed the fifth alchemical array.

Five arrays now surrounded him, forming a matrix-like laser grid. Countless golden beams of light shot out like a hail of bullets, obliterating the fiery creations.

The battle reached a stalemate. Casiraghi's fiery onslaught and Professor Green's alchemical arrays had created a delicate balance, with neither side gaining the upper hand.

From a safe distance, Lynn looked on with a worried expression. He wanted to help Professor Green, but he knew that, with his current magical abilities, stepping in would only get him killed.

After all, even the residual magic from their battle was enough to hurt him!
