Chapter 22: Anti-magic scepter
Ten minutes passed in the battle between gold, red, and black.
Even though both powers were equally strong, their wielders were beginning to show signs of exhaustion.
At this moment, the light emitted by the five alchemical formations surrounding Professor Green began to dim, and the magical power within him seemed to be running dry!
Seeing this, Casiraghi couldn't help but show a victorious smile.
You must know, his Fiery Blaze could devour everything around it and continue growing, but Professor Green's alchemical circle was completely supported by his own magical power.
In this situation of unequal magical power production, it would be strange for Professor Green to last until the end!
Professor Green seemed furious as he saw Casiraghi succeeding.
If he had died at Grindelwald's hands, he would have accepted it, but now he had met Lynn, a talented student with extraordinary gifts. The problem he had struggled with for so long was finally starting to resolve, and everything seemed like it would be okay.
But now, he was about to die at the hands of Casiraghi, a failure. How could he accept this?!
He wasn't willing to give up!
Professor Green roared, and the alchemical circle around him once again exploded with light.
However, when magical power runs out, it runs out, and no amount of yelling can refill it. Even if Professor Green wasn't willing, he could only watch as the alchemical circle around him dimmed once more, and the Fiery Blaze transformed into a fire dog that broke through the line of defense and lunged toward him.
In the distance, Lynn could no longer stay still.
Even in two lifetimes, Lynn couldn't just sit by and watch his mentor die!
At that moment, a thought crossed Lynn's mind. It seemed like he remembered something and quickly rummaged through the bag at his waist, which had an extension charm.
Soon, Lynn's face lit up as he pulled out a one-meter-long scepter from the bag!
The Anti-Magic Scepter!
Looking at the exquisite scepter in his hand, Lynn recalled Professor Green's original introduction to the scepter.
"This scepter is a forbidden magical item that activates once. It can unleash the power of the Anti-Magic Stone to suppress magical power within a hundred-meter radius, preventing wizards within the range from casting magic. However, the Anti-Magic Scepter can only suppress Auror-level magic, and its effect on High-level wizards is extremely limited."
As expected, Lynn was less than 100 meters from the battlefield where Casiraghi and Professor Green were, and Casiraghi's power clearly didn't reach the level of a High-level wizard like Grindelwald. Otherwise, Professor Green wouldn't have been able to fight him for so long.
"Please, Anti-Magic Scepter!" Lynn gripped the Anti-Magic Scepter with all his might, and the moment the Fiery Blaze dog transformed by Casiraghi lunged at Professor Green, about to bite his neck, Lynn injected magical power into it.
Buzz ~
A buzzing sound echoed as a visible wave of light spread rapidly in all directions. In an instant, the area within a hundred meters, with Lynn at its center, was enveloped by the power of the Anti-Magic Scepter!
The Fiery Blaze dogs seemed to encounter dozens of Aurors casting "Finite Incantatem" simultaneously, vanishing without a trace in an instant.
Not only that, but the light atop Casiraghi's wand and the weakened alchemical circle around Professor Green shattered and dissipated like smoke.
"How is this possible?!"
Sensing that the magical power in his body was completely suppressed and could no longer be mobilized, Casiraghi exclaimed.
On the other hand, Professor Green looked toward Lynn with a complicated expression. After the power of the Anti-Magic Scepter was activated, Lynn's Ghost Silk Curse expired, revealing Lynn's true form.
"I didn't expect the gift I gave you to be used on me..." Professor Green smiled bitterly, brushing off the dust from his clothes after being knocked down by the Fire Dog, and stood up.
Lynn ran quickly, pulled the enchanted "Sharp" dagger from his pocket that Professor Green had given him, and stabbed Casiraghi in the chest.
Thrust! Thrust! Thrust!
Casiraghi didn't react at first, but Lynn stabbed him three times.
However, since Lynn was too hasty with his stabbing, none of his three strikes hit Casiraghi's vital points, giving Casiraghi the opportunity to defend himself.
Lynn, who had never experienced a real battle, was naturally no match for the experienced ex-Saint. Casiraghi knocked the dagger out of Lynn's hand, spun around, and pressed Lynn down, trying to strangle him.
With no one able to cast magic, Professor Green, still over ten meters away from Lynn, had no time to save him!
A sense of suffocation set in, and Lynn kept struggling, but after all, he was only eleven years old. Even though he exercised regularly, he was far from Casiraghi in terms of physical strength!
Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang!
Just as Lynn thought he was about to be strangled to death, a series of gunshots rang out, and the hand around his neck loosened, finally giving Lynn a chance to breathe.
Lynn pushed Casiraghi's body off, gasping for air.
When he recovered and looked at Casiraghi, he was horrified to find his head riddled with blood holes!
"In the absence of a High-level wizard, my Anti-Magic Scepter can achieve equality for all living beings. At this moment, some Muggle weapons can work quite well."
Professor Green approached slowly, still holding the smoking metal gun in his hand.
Obviously, what Casiraghi had mentioned before about Professor Green using a Muggle firearm to injure his master referred to the damage Professor Green inflicted on Grindelwald after activating the Anti-Magic Scepter.
Of course, even though Muggle firearms were powerful, they were not enough to kill Grindelwald, who still had the ability to cast spells. Lynn had already heard what happened next from Professor Green.
"Thank you, Professor!" Lynn struggled to stand. Fortunately, Professor Green's firearm helped; otherwise, he might have died at Casiraghi's hands.
Hearing this, Professor Green shook his head, a look of guilt in his eyes. Along with the guilt, there was also a childish affection for himself: "No, Lynn, it should be me who apologizes to you. As your teacher, I failed to protect you and instead put you in danger. This is my dereliction of duty!"
Professor Green was truly glad that he had enough faith in Lynn, his disciple, and even gave him the Anti-Magic Scepter.
Otherwise, not only would he have died, but so would Lynn, a prodigy. If that had truly happened, Professor Green would never forgive himself, even if he went to hell!
