The Domineering Female CEO

Chapter 32: chapter 32

Am I a joke you!? Xavier raised his voice "Xavier, no, it's not like that," she said, her voice shaking slightly.

Xavier's eyes blazed with intensity. "Then what is it like, Eliana? You're seen with Alexander, one of the richest men in the world, and now you're telling me that it means nothing?"

Eliana took a deep breath and tried to calm herself down. "Xavier, I can explain. Alexander and I were just having dinner, that's all. It didn't mean anything.".

Xavier's expression was skeptical. "Save it, Eliana. I'm not buying it. You're contracted to marry me, but it seems like you're more interested in Alexander's wealth and status."

Eliana's eyes filled with tears as she saw the pain in Xavier's eyes. "Xavier, please understand," she said, her voice shaking.

But Xavier's anger had reached a boiling point. "Understand?" he repeated, his voice rising. "You think I can just understand why you're still pining after another man? Why you're putting our contract and our relationship at risk?"

Eliana took a step back, feeling a stinging sensation in her eyes. "Xavier, stop," she said, her voice firm. "You're not being fair."

Xavier's laughter was bitter. "Fair?" he repeated. "You want to talk about fair? You're the one who's been playing with my feelings, Eliana. You're the one who's been leading me on."

Eliana felt a surge of anger at Xavier's words. "How dare you," she said, her voice rising. "I've done nothing but try to make this contract work. And this is the thanks I get?"

The argument hung in the air, unresolved. Xavier's eyes blazed with anger, while Eliana's eyes flashed with tears. The tension between them was palpable, and it seemed that their relationship was on the verge of collapse.

Xavier's words hung in the air like a challenge. "I don't want to be your contract husband anymore, Eliana," he said, his voice firm. "I'll compensate you for the inconvenience, but I think it's best if we just end this now."

Eliana's eyes widened in shock, but she quickly regained her composure. She took a step forward, her hand reaching out to grab Xavier's arm.

"Xavier, wait," she said, her voice urgent. "Don't just walk away like this. We need to talk about this."

Xavier tried to shake off her grip, but Eliana held tight. "Let me go, Eliana," he said, his voice cold.

But Eliana refused to let go. She pulled Xavier back, her eyes blazing with determination.

"No, Xavier," she said, her voice firm. "I won't let you just walk away from me. We have a contract, and we're going to see it through."

Xavier's eyes narrowed, his jaw clenched in anger. But Eliana just stood her ground, her eyes locked on his.

The air was thick with tension as the two of them stood there, locked in a silent struggle. It was clear that neither of them was willing to back down.

Xavier's eyes flashed with anger as he tried to pull away from Eliana's grasp. "Eliana, let me go!" he said, his voice low and urgent. "I beg you!"

But Eliana refused to let go. She held onto him tightly, her eyes blazing with determination. "Xavier McKinney, stop acting like a child!" she said, her voice firm. "I already told you, nothing is going on between me and Alexander!"

Xavier's face twisted in pain as he looked at Eliana. "Don't lie to me, Eliana," he said, his voice cracking with emotion. "I saw the way you looked at him. I saw the way he looked at you."

Eliana's eyes flashed with anger. "You're just jealous, Xavier," she said, her voice cold. "You're jealous because you think I'm in love with Alexander."

Xavier's eyes narrowed. "Maybe I am," he said, his voice low. "Maybe I'm tired of being second best to you."

Eliana's face fell, and for a moment, she looked like she had been slapped. Then, her expression hardened, and she pulled Xavier closer.

Xavier's eyes flashed with anger as he tried to pull away from Eliana's grasp. "Eliana, let me go!" he said, his voice low and urgent. "I beg you!"

Xavier's head snapped back as Eliana's slap connected with his cheek. He felt a surge of anger and shock, but he didn't retaliate. Instead, he looked at Eliana with a mixture of hurt and anger.

Eliana's eyes blazed with fury as she pinned Xavier against the wall. "You're going to regret saying that, Xavier," she hissed. "You're going to regret thinking that you can just walk away from me."

Xavier's eyes locked onto Eliana's, and for a moment, they just stared at each other. The air was thick with tension, and it seemed like anything could happen next.

Suddenly, Eliana's grip on Xavier's arms relaxed, and she stepped back. "We're not done here, Xavier," she said, her voice cold. "We're going to finish this conversation, and we're going to do it now."

Xavier's eyes remained fixed on the floor, his mind racing with thoughts of escape. He couldn't believe he had underestimated Eliana's determination. He thought he could just walk away from the contract, but now he realized he was trapped.

Eliana's voice was low and husky as she spoke, her words dripping with a subtle menace. "Xavier, this is the fourth month already. We've come too far to turn back now. You can't just leave me now."

Xavier's eyes flickered up to meet Eliana's, and for a moment, they just stared at each other. The air was thick with tension, and Xavier could feel the weight of Eliana's expectations bearing down on him.

Slowly, Xavier stood up, his eyes never leaving Eliana's face. "What do you want from me, Eliana?" he asked, his voice low and even.

Eliana's smile was a thin, mirthless line. "I want you to fulfill your obligations, Xavier," she said. "I want you to marry me and make this contract a reality."

Is it just about the contract? Xavier asked, don't you have any feelings at all for me?

Eliana's expression faltered for a moment, and Xavier saw a flicker of something in her eyes. But it was quickly extinguished, replaced by a mask of indifference.

"Feelings?" Eliana repeated, her voice dripping with sarcasm. "Xavier, we're talking about a business arrangement here. Don't get sentimental on me."

Xavier's heart sank, and he felt a pang of sadness. He had been hoping, foolishly, that Eliana might feel something for him. But now he realized that he was just a means to an end for her.

"I see," Xavier said, his voice barely above a whisper. "So it's just about the contract, then."

Eliana nodded, her eyes glinting with a hard light. "That's right, Xavier. It's just about the contract. And I expect you to uphold your end of the bargain."

Xavier felt a cold dread creeping over him. He was trapped in a loveless arrangement with a woman who didn't care about him. And he had no idea how to escape.

He took a step closer to her, his voice filled with emotion.

"Eliana, please be honest with me," he said, his eyes locked on hers. "Don't you feel anything for me at all?"

Eliana's eyes dropped, and she looked away, her voice barely audible. "I... I don't know, Xavier. I'm sorry."

Xavier's heart sank, and he felt a wave of sadness wash over him. He knew he had fallen deeply in love with Eliana, but it seemed she didn't feel the same way.

He took a step back, his eyes never leaving Eliana's face. "I see," he said, his voice barely above a whisper. "I guess I have my answer."

Xavier's eyes welled up with tears as he squatted down, holding his heart as if it was physically aching. He felt like he had been punched in the gut, his breath knocked out of him.

He couldn't believe he had let his guard down like this. He was Xavier McKinney, the notorious playboy who had a reputation for breaking hearts. He wasn't supposed to be the one getting hurt.

But as he looked up at Eliana, he knew he had been lying to himself. He wasn't a playboy anymore. He had fallen deeply in love with Eliana, and now he was paying the price.

Eliana's expression softened as she looked at Xavier, and for a moment, he thought he saw a glimmer of compassion in her eyes. But then her mask slipped back into place, and she turned away from him.

"Xavier, get up," she said, her voice firm. "We need to talk about the contract."

Xavier's eyes narrowed as he slowly stood up, his heart still aching. He knew he had to get out of this contract, no matter what it took. He couldn't keep pretending to be in love with someone who didn't love him back.

Xavier's voice trembled with emotion as he stared at Eliana, his heart heavy with disappointment and hurt. "Eliana, I'm not going to do this," he said, his words barely above a whisper. "I can't. You clearly know I accepted this contract because I thought you liked me, thought we had a connection."

Eliana's expression remained impassive, but Xavier saw a flicker of guilt in her eyes. "Xavier, don't be ridiculous," she said, her voice cold. "This is just business."

Xavier's eyes narrowed, his jaw clenched in anger. "No, Eliana, it's not just business," he said, his voice rising. "It's about trust, about honesty. You used me, Eliana. You played me."

Eliana's mask slipped, and for a moment, Xavier saw a glimmer of vulnerability. But it was quickly replaced by her usual composure. "Xavier, stop being dramatic," she said, her voice firm. "We have a contract to fulfill." No, I won't go ahead with it! Xavier almost screamed

Eliana's eyes flashed with anger as Xavier's words hung in the air. "You can't just back out now, Xavier," she said, her voice icy. "We have a binding contract. You'll be sued for breach of contract if you try to back out."

Xavier's face twisted in defiance. "I don't care," he shouted. "I won't do it. I won't marry you just to fulfill some business arrangement. I deserve better than that. And so do you."

Eliana's face went white with rage, and for a moment, Xavier thought she might actually slap him again. But instead, she turned on her heel searched for the key and stormed out of the room, leaving Xavier standing alone, his heart still racing with emotion.

Xavier's heart shattered into a million pieces as he stood alone in the empty room. He felt like he'd been punched in the gut, his breath knocked out of him. How could Eliana be so cruel? He thought he'd seen glimpses of vulnerability, of a deeper connection between them.

He wandered aimlessly, his mind reeling with emotions. Was he being dramatic? Had he misread the situation entirely? Xavier's eyes wandered to the spot where Eliana had stood, her words echoing in his mind.

He slumped onto the couch, his head in his hands. He'd never felt so betrayed, so hurt. He thought their contract was about mutual benefit, but now he realized it was just a facade.

Tears pricked at the corners of his eyes as Xavier confronted the truth. He'd fallen deeply in love with Eliana, and she didn't feel the same way. The weight of his heartbreak crushed him.

Xavier's phone buzzed, breaking the silence. It was text from Elvis asking if he was okay, Xavier replied with I will be down in a minute.
