The Domineering Female CEO

Eliana walked back to her car, holding her breath. She hurriedly opened the door and got in, releasing her long-held breath only when she was safely inside. She wanted to relax for a moment but drove off immediately instead.

She didn't go home but went to meet her father's closest ally, Mr. Josh, who was also her godfather. She rushed to Mr. Josh's place, and he hugged her warmly. Mr. Josh noticed the fear in her eyes and asked her what had happened. Eliana burst into tears, unable to hold back her emotions.

Mr. Josh took her inside and asked her to explain what had happened. Eliana told him about her stepmother and Tobias's plan to take away her father's inheritance and custody of Jason. Mr. Josh's expression turned angry, and he exclaimed, "What!"

He quickly took out his phone and dialed a number, calling his late best friend's lawyer, Henry. "Come here immediately," he instructed. He dropped the call, turned to Eliana, and said, "Elly, my darling, don't be sad. Those are just empty threats. I have called your father's lawyer already; he is on his way. He will tell you everything you need to know."

Half an hour later, Henry, a middle-aged man, walked in, greeting Mr. Josh and smiling at Eliana. Mr. Josh introduced Eliana as her father's first daughter, and Henry smiled, saying he knew her. He brought out documents from his briefcase and handed them over to Eliana.

"Your father seemed to know he wasn't going to make it, so he wrote his will seven years ago, before the birth of your brother," Henry explained. "He always received threatening messages and suspected your stepmother had a hand in it. So, he wrote this will before your brother was born."

Eliana opened the documents and noticed that everything was willed to her, and nothing was left for Layla. She looked at Mr. Josh and asked, "Why didn't my father leave anything for Layla?"

Mr. Josh looked at Henry, who gave him a knowing look and said, "Your father always suspected that Layla wasn't his child. He never had a chance to do a DNA test."

Henry continued, "Although he left something for Layla, it's just something to distract them and let you and your brother live in peace." He explained that Eliana's father had left the second mansion for Layla and the D&N business in Sky City.

Eliana was shocked. "What! But that's a joint business between my dad and mom!" Henry explained that Eliana's father had his reasons for doing so, and it was the only way Lisa would lie low and let Eliana and her brother live in peace.

Eliana looked at Mr. Josh, who smiled at her and said, "Don't worry, and hold onto the first mansion and Damien Group of Companies. I believe you will do great." He suggested calling a meeting with the board of directors of both companies, as well as Eliana's stepmother and her father's brother.

Eliana asked, "But didn't my father leave anything for his brother?" Mr. Josh explained that Eliana's father had no reason to leave something for a brother who hated him and never regarded him. He also secretly had an affair with Eliana's stepmother, which was why Eliana's father never acknowledged Layla as his own.

Eliana nodded in understanding. Mr. Josh continued, "Also, your father wants you to operate from abroad. He wants you to be the CEO of Damien Group of Companies, but the company in Sky City is not the headquarters. The headquarters is abroad."

Eliana was shocked. "What! How can that be?! I thought..." Mr. Josh interrupted her, explaining that Eliana's father was doing it for her and Jason's safety. He knew his brother and Eliana's stepmother very well.

Mr. Josh continued, "You know, your stepmother was your father's secretary. One day, they went to a party, which your father believes he was drugged. He woke up one morning naked with his secretary by his side. She claimed he forced himself on her, and he decided to take responsibility. But a few weeks later, she came to him claiming she was pregnant."
