Chapter 15: chapter 15
As the weeks turned into months, Eliana and Xavier's working relationship continued to evolve. They grew more comfortable around each other, and their mutual attraction became harder to ignore.
One evening, as they were leaving a meeting, Xavier turned to Eliana and asked, "Would you like to grab dinner with me? Maybe we can discuss some business strategies."
Eliana hesitated for a moment before nodding. "Okay, sure."
As they sat down at a nearby restaurant, Eliana couldn't help but feel a sense of unease. She knew that Xavier was still attracted to her, and she couldn't deny the sparks that flew between them.
But as they began to talk, Eliana realized that Xavier was different from the man she had met that night. He was kind, intelligent, and genuinely interested in getting to know her.
As the evening wore on, Eliana found herself relaxing in Xavier's presence. She began to see him in a new light, and her attraction to him grew stronger.
But just as things were starting to look up rubby and Tiana appeared at the restaurant, a sly smile spreading across her face.
"Well, well, well," Tiana said, her voice dripping with malice. "Look what we have here. Eliana, darling, I see you're still slumming it with the help."
Eliana's eyes narrowed, and who are you? Eliana asked
Tiana's smile grew wider. "Oh, I just wanted to drop by and remind you of your place. You're not good enough for someone like Xavier McKinney. You're just a poor little rich girl, playing at being a businesswoman."
Eliana's face burned with anger, but Xavier stepped in, his voice calm and authoritative. "I think it's time for you to leave, Tiana,Eliana and I are in the middle of a business discussion."
Tiana's smile faltered, and for a moment, Eliana saw a glimmer of uncertainty in her eyes. But then, Tiana mask slipped back into place, and she turned to leave.
As Tiana walked away, Eliana felt a sense of relief wash over her. She turned to Xavier, her eyes locking onto his. "Thank you," she said, her voice barely above a whisper.
Xavier's eyes crinkled at the corners as he smiled. "Anytime, Eliana. I'm always happy to help."
As they sat there, the tension between them was palpable. Eliana knew that she had to ask Xavier about Tiana
