Chapter 14: chapter 14
As Eliana walked away, Xavier couldn't help but feel a pang of disappointment. He had hoped that she would give him a chance to redeem himself, to prove that he was more than just a one-night stand he had started liking her.
But as he watched her disappear into the night, he realized that he had to respect her boundaries. He couldn't force her to feel something she didn't.
With a sigh, Xavier turned and walked back to his car. As he drove away, he couldn't shake the feeling that he had just let something special slip through his fingers.
Meanwhile, Eliana arrived home, her mind reeling with thoughts of Xavier and the night they shared. She couldn't deny the attraction she felt towards him, but she was determined to keep her distance.
As she changed into comfortable clothes, Royalty walked into the room, a concerned look on her face. "Hey, girl, what's wrong? You look like you've lost your last marble."
Eliana sighed, flopping down onto the bed. "It's just Xavier, Royalty. I don't know what to do about him."
Royalty's expression softened. "What do you mean? Did something happen between you two?"
Eliana nodded, covering her face with a pillow. "We had a thing, Royalty. And now he's apologizing and asking me if I think about that night... I don't know what to do."
Royalty sat down beside Eliana, putting a comforting arm around her shoulders. "You need to talk to him, Elly. Find out what he wants and what he's willing to do to make things right."
Eliana nodded, feeling a sense of determination wash over her. She would confront Xavier and find out what he wanted. And then she would make her decision.
As the days turned into weeks, Eliana and Xavier continued to work together, their mutual attraction growing stronger with each passing day. But Eliana was determined to keep her distance, to protect herself from falling for him.
Little did she know, Xavier had other plans. Plans that would change everything.
