Chapter 961 961: The Woman in Flint's Heart
"How could this happen? We saw you burned alive. My flames consumed your entire body. How did you survive?" Cassie asked her. She needed to know what happened.
"Haha! You are naive. Do you think a fire could kill me? I am as strong as the demon god. I pretended. My soul has been transferred to your body.
I used the soul possession spell and binding spell." the Evil witch revealed to her.
"Have you forgotten? During our fight, an invisible thing bit you. You lowered your guard down. It's your fault for underestimating my power." She laughed sardonically once again.
"Don't worry. I won't kill you just yet. I still need to meet the demon god before doing so. Anyway… I've noticed that you were hell-bent on protecting that guy during our fight. He is important to you. So I'm gonna finish him off first." The evil witch was referring to Flint.
"No! Don't touch him! Don't hurt him!" Cassie screamed in horror.
The witch let out another loud chuckle. "Ahuh. Do you want me to play with him first? He is someone you desire, am I right? Should I sleep with him first and make you watch us as he fucks me using your own body." The evil witch knew how to provoke Cassie.
Out of fury, Cassie's fists started banging the crystal wall that was trapping her. She wanted to destroy it and escape. But to her disappointment, she couldn't even make a crack on it.
"Don't you dare! Stay away from Flint!" Cassie clenched her teeth. Her heart was about to explode from rage. However, she was powerless at the moment.
"No matter how much you scream or punch that barrier, you won't be able to leave here. You are trapped here forever unless I kill your soul. Your freedom means death."
"Bye for now. I have to take over your body." After saying that, the evil witch's voice disappeared. Cassie was left alone in her desperate situation.
"Shit! What should I do?" Cassie became more anxious. "I need to communicate with Scarlet."
"Scarlet! Are you there? Can you hear me? Scarlet! Please respond!"
Cassie continued punching the crystal wall. Her knuckles began to bleed, yet Scarlet never responded to her call. She couldn't hear her. The barrier that served as her prison was preventing her from communicating with Scarlet.
Feeling helpless, Cassie buried her face using both hands. She didn't know what to do. Flint was in danger. Who knows what this evil witch was going to do with her body? She's okay if she was the one going to be hurt, but not Flint or anyone else.
"I have to get out of here. But how?" Cassie knew she was in great trouble. "Please… someone. I hope someone will notice my strange behavior." She could only pray since she couldn't do anything.

Meanwhile, the evil witch started to roam around the barracks. She had been trapped in that valley for thousand years so she was amused to see a different environment. Who would have thought that the people residing in that place were called guardian warriors?
"I must observe them and act naturally. They must not know that I'm not the real Cassie. Fortunately, I watched the way she acted for the past few hours."
As she navigated the corridors, she found Justine and Eric talking to Flint. The three members of the fiery eagles were reunited.
"Hmm. The guy is here," her eyes gleamed when she recognized Flint. She didn't approach them yet as she decided to eavesdrop on their conversation.
"Have you seen Cassie? She said she was going to meet you and see your preparations for tomorrow's journey." Flint inquired, his eyes searching for Cassie.
"No, we haven't seen her yet. By the way, are you feeling better now? I heard you were unconscious when Cassie brought you here. Did you get injured?" Justine was worried about Flint.
"I'm fine now. Anyway, I came here to thank both of you. You protected Ella on my behalf." Flint expressed his gratitude toward his comrades and friends.
Eric tapped his back and replied, "No need to thank us. It is our duty to protect her. She's a member of the Davis Family."
"I'm so sorry, Flint. Because of us, you and Miss Ella are put in danger. Our only goal is to ask for Miss Cassie's help. We didn't expect that both of you would get involved here." Justine apologized to him.
"Did we ruin your plan of confessing with Miss Ella? We are truly sorry about that." Eric remembered that Flint was planning to confess to Ella. He had been waiting for her return.
"No. It's okay. No need to apologize. Besides, I'm still mustering up the courage to confess my feelings. But now… I think I am having a second thought," Flint shared with them his inner thoughts.
Justine: "Eh? Why?"
Eric: "Are you scared of rejection?"
Flint fell silent for a moment before shaking his head. "I think she has feelings for Liam, your guardian leader. I am no match for him. She will never take notice of me… because she always set her eyes on him, not me."
Eric and Justine exchanged glances with one another. They didn't know how they would console Flint. They had to admit that Liam was a perfect guy. Ladies would be throwing themselves at him.
"Oh, C'mon, Flint. Be brave! Do your best! You have to confess no matter what. Don't hide your feelings forever. Grab this opportunity that both of you are still here.
Show her your sincerity." Eric encouraged him.
Justine also agreed with Eric's suggestion. "Yes. Go for it. If you want, we can help you tonight. Confess to her before we leave."
The two men continued convincing Flint, clueless about the other figure who was secretly listening to them.
"Hmm. This is interesting. This woman did her best to protect this guy. Who would have thought that he loves someone else? Tsk Tsk Tsk. Poor woman.
I have to tell her this and provoke her more. I want to see how the demon god's granddaughter cries with a broken heart."
The evil witch decided to leave, finding an isolated place. After settling down, she immediately went to visit Cassie who was imprisoned in her own subconscious.
"Well! Well… Well! I'm back again." Her voice caught Cassie's attention.
"What do you want?" Cassie was not in the mood to play with her. "Get me out of here!"
"Hahaha! Do you still want to go out? Hmm. Then let me enlighten you. I just found something interesting." The evil witch continued taunting her.
"The guy you always wanted to protect is attracted to another woman. And he is going to confess tonight with the help of his friends. Do you know Ella? That's the woman's name." The evil witch wanted to test Cassie, wondering how she would react once she heard the truth.
Meanwhile, Cassie was stupefied at the mention of Ella's name. She knew that Flint loved someone but she didn't expect that he was referring to Ella, her Aunt.
'So the woman… he likes is none other than my Aunt Ella…' Cassie was a little bit shaken by this revelation.
