Chapter 962 962: The Power Couple is Back
Cassie almost gave away her emotions. But thinking about the evil witch, she could tell that she just wanted to provoke her further and laughed at her misery.
She wouldn't give her the luxury to mock her. "So what if he loves someone else?! I'm not a bitter person. If he is happy with her, then I will also be happy for him."
Instead of crying in front of the evil witch, Cassie put on a brave front. Even if she was hurting inside, Cassie must stay strong. She could no longer do anything about it.
Besides, she already made a vow. She would never bother Flint anymore.
"You are a hypocrite! I know you want him! You are just like your grandfather. Both of you are greedy in nature. Hahaha!" the evil witch insisted.
"If you want… I shall kill that woman for you as compensation for your body. Just say the word!" The evil witch continued testing her. She believed that Cassie was also evil just like the demon god.
"You shut up, witch!" Cassie yelled at her, surprising the witch. "Always remember that the dark sides will never win. You are going to suffer if you do not change. Follow my grandpa's footsteps. From evil, he turns into a good and simple citizen of our world! Now, he is happy with his wife!"
"You are lying! There is no goodness in the demon god's heart!" She retorted.
"You are wrong! You will see the truth once you meet him. But don't you ever hurt Ella, my grandfather will surely kill you and torture you to death!" Cassie threatened her.
"I can't believe it. You are so stupid. Haha. Do you still want to protect that woman? She stole the man you like." The evil witch continued taunting her.
"Haha! You are the stupid one." Cassie didn't back down. "No one stole him from me… because in the first place, he is not mine. He is a person, not an object. Not part of anyone's possession!" She corrected her.
"Whatever! No matter what you say… you will just rot in here. I will no longer do you a favor. You just wasted my time." the evil witch got tired of arguing with Cassie.
"I can kill them anytime I want. So just stay put here. Watch me," the evil witch confidently said.
"I'm not joking. If you continue hurting the people I care about… I will make sure you will suffer a hundredfold." Cassie had become serious. "I can't escape for now. But sooner or later, I will find ways. If you touch a single strand of Ella and Flint's hair, I swear, I'll eat you alive!"
For some unknown reason, the evil witch saw an uncanny resemblance to the demon god in Cassie's persona. Cassie's blue eyes suddenly turned red. She was furious.
'She is indeed a descendant of the demon god… her red eyes resembled him.' The evil witch thought to herself, feeling the chill.

Meanwhile, in the human world, Zhen-Zhen and Tristan finally returned. They headed straight to their villa. They met Christian and Zu Wan in the living room.
"Mom! Dad! You are back!" Christian stood up, his eyes widened in shock.
"Of course! We've been missing you." Zhen-Zhen replied, opening her arms wide. She was inviting Christian to hug her.
Christian immediately closed their gaps and embraced his mother. It looked like he was just hugging his sister. Nothing changed in Zhen-Zhen's physical appearance. She maintained her youthful appearance. Same with Tristan. They didn't get old at all.
"Where is my princess?" Tristan looked for his beloved daughter, Cassie.
Zu Wan and Tristan exchanged glances with one another, sighing deeply. Their interaction didn't escape Zhen-Zhen's sharp eyes.
"What's wrong? Did Cassie make trouble again?" Zhen-Zhen asked them curiously.
Tristan nodded his head, thinking about the same thing.
"Mom… Dad… the truth is… Cassie, Ella, and Flint had gone missing. I mean… they were brought to the world of the guardian warriors including Uncle Liam." Christian revealed the truth.
"WHAT??!" Both Zhen-Zhen and Tristan exclaimed in unison. They were shocked by this turn of events.
"How did it happen?" Tristan's worry could be seen in his eyes.
Christian told them what happened including what they discovered about Justine and Eric. They became members of Fiery Eagles. They were the guardian warriors looking for the demon god's daughter, Zhen-Zhen.
"According to Cassie, those two asked her for help because there was an ongoing war between the guardian warriors. We told her not to get involved. But she was so stubborn. In the end, she didn't listen to us and willingly went to the other world." Tristan explained the whole situation to his parents.
"The problem is that… we can't open the portal because we are powerless now." Zu Wan joined the conversation.
"Sigh. My daughter always seeks trouble." Tristan sighed, rubbing his temples.
"Because she inherits your behavior," Zhen-Zhen said, teasing her husband.
"Don't worry about Cassie. I believe in her capability. She can protect herself. But I think I must go there before it's too late." Zhen-Zhen was aware of the gravity of the situation. Aside from that, she needed to secure Ella and Flint. They were just ordinary people with no superpowers.
"I'm coming with you!" Tristan volunteered because he didn't want to be apart from his wife. He always wanted to stick by her side.
"Okay. Bring them back. The two of you are the only people who have the power to open the portal." Zu Wan supported them.
"Okay, Dad. I promise to bring them back." Zhen-Zhen reassured them.
"You have to visit your grandpa first. He is in the study room. He has been worried about Cassie. You go and console him." Zu Wan urged the couple to visit Grandpa Lu and talk to him first before they depart.
"Yes. I miss Grandpa Lu. That's one of the reasons why we return," Zhen-Zhen cheerfully said.
"Mom… Dad… Can I join you? I want to see the other world." Christian finally expressed his desire to come with them to the other world.
Zu Wan, Tristan, and Zhen-Zhen fell silent, contemplating. The other world might be dangerous for Christian. He no longer possesses supernatural power. He exchanged his power for Grandpa Lu's life.
"Okay, son. You can come with us." Zhen-Zhen gave her permission.
"Eh? Are you sure about that, wifey? It's dangerous for our son." Tristan wanted to object.
"It's okay. We can protect our son. I want him to see the world where I came from." Zhen-Zhen said meaningfully.
"Sigh. Okay, you win. We will bring Christian with us." Tristan could no longer refute that.
"Thanks, Dad! Thanks, Mom!" Christian pounced on them, hugging them both. He felt so grateful. He just wanted to unwind and free himself from the troubling thoughts. Going to the other world might help him clear his thoughts about Elijah.
He didn't want to admit it but he was heartbroken the moment he met Elijah's boyfriend, Oliver.
"Good luck on your journey. Be careful." Zu Wan reminded them. He couldn't go with them because he felt like he would just become a burden. He chose to stay behind and accompany his wife.
