The CEO's Wife Is A Demon God's Daughter

Chapter 960 960: She's Trapped

Cassie, Flint, and Liam continued practicing their supernatural powers in the forest. Ella could only sit back and watch them from behind. As they tested their strengths and abilities, Cassie tried her best to avoid Flint.

During their journey in the Sacred Place, Flint's life was put in danger. She made a vow that once Flint survived it, she would no longer pester him or bother him. She was ready to let him go and forget about her feelings. Besides, she already knew that Flint loved someone else.

Cassie focused on unleashing and controlling her fire while Liam stood by her side, lending his support. Meanwhile, Flint immersed himself in the intense focus required to amplify his telekinetic powers. The strain on his mind became evident when pushed to the limit, his nose began to bleed. Ella was the one taking care of Flint, reminding him to take it easy.

"Let's take a rest," Liam said, tapping Cassie's shoulder. He offered her some fruits served as their snacks.

"Okay, Master!" She said jokingly as she accepted one piece of apple.

Soon, the two of them joined Ella and Flint. Ella gave Liam water to drink as he sat down next to Flint.

"How's your training?" Liam asked Flint. He could sense that Flint exerted too much effort. He looked exhausted.

"I'm getting used to moving heavy objects. But I can only lift one heavy object at a time. Sigh." Flint heaved a sigh of disappointment.

"It's alright. You will get stronger." Liam encouraged him.

"By the way, how's the council meeting?" Ella brought up the topic.

"We formed a team who will rescue the healers," Cassie replied, informing them.

"How many people composed that team?" Flint asked them curiously. "I wanna join!"

"Justine, Liam, Eric, and I. Oh, one elder will accompany us. So we are already complete. You just have to stay here and guard the hideout," Cassie insisted. Their mission was dangerous. She didn't want to put Flint in a dangerous situation once again.

"No! I will join you!" Flint stubbornly insisted.

Cassie raised her eyebrow and retorted, "No. You can't. You must stay here and protect Ella. She's my Aunt!"

"WHAT? Ella is your Aunt?" Flint had almost forgotten the real connection between the two women.

Both Ella and Cassie nodded to confirm it. "As part of Fiery Eagles, you must protect her at all costs!" She commanded him with authority.

Cassie was part of the Davis Family. Although they were both members of Fiery Eagles, her position was higher than him. He had to obey the command of a member of the Davis Family.

Flint darted his gaze back and forth between Cassie and Ella. Staying behind while protecting Ella was his top priority. However, part of him wanted to join Cassie's team. He couldn't understand why his priority had started to change.

"Fine. I'll protect Ella. But make sure you come back safe and sound!" Flint uttered with a serious expression on his face.

Cassie was taken aback for a moment when she heard that. 'Is he worried about me?'

"Don't worry. I've got Liam by my side! He's not only powerful but also well-acquainted with this world. If anything goes awry, he'll ensure our team's safety," Cassie declared with confidence, putting her trust in Liam's capabilities.

Little did she realize that her reassurance triggered a twinge of envy in two individuals. Ella found herself longing for the ability to join Liam's team, wishing she could spend more time with him. Given her current circumstances, this was an unattainable desire.

Meanwhile, Flint couldn't help but feel a pang of jealousy towards Liam, who seemed to be more reliable in Cassie's eyes. Even Cassie had started leaning on him for support.

Liam, sensing the tension, intervened, "Let's head back to our barracks. We'll make preparations to leave at dawn tomorrow." The trio reached a consensus.

"I'll cast the dimension-hopping spell this time. Cassie, no need to exert your power. Rest up," Liam suggested, concerned about Cassie's well-being and hoping to alleviate her exhaustion.

"Okay, Master," she teased him again, making Liam chuckle.

Ella and Flint just remained silent. They could see that Cassie and Liam were getting along very well.

When Liam's preparation was done, everyone gathered inside the circle. He started to chant the dimension-hopping spell. Lights engulfed them. When their vision became clear, they found themselves standing at the entrance of the barracks.

"I'll go and meet the other team members." Cassie was in a hurry to get separated from Flint. She didn't know how long she could endure avoiding him. But she would try her best.

"Okay. I'll talk to Shino to discuss something." Liam also said goodbye to them.

"I'll guide you to your room," Ella also spoke up. She chose to accompany Flint, leading him to his temporary room.

"Thanks, Ella." Flint obediently followed Ella. But he cast a look in Cassie's direction for one last time. He frowned as he watched her. 'Why do I feel like she is keeping her distance from me?' He thought to himself.

On the other hand, Cassie followed the path, going to their meeting place. She believed that Eric and Justine were already preparing for their journey tomorrow.

She was walking leisurely when suddenly she felt a throbbing pain in her head. She halted on her track and leaned on the wall for support.

"Argh!" she winced in pain, her fingers massaging her temples.

Before she knew it, she suddenly blacked out. All she could see was total darkness.

'What's happening to me?' She mused to himself. 'Where am I?'

She raised her hands only to feel something hard– the texture of a glass. Then a realization had dawned on her. She was trapped in a glass wall.

Soon, she heard a familiar voice, laughing sardonically like a madman.

"The Evil Witch?! I thought she had been defeated?" Cassie uttered in confusion.

"Thank you for helping me escape from that place. Your body is mine now. I'll take good care of it. I will look forward to meeting your grandfather again. And without his knowledge, I'll kill him using his granddaughter's body." The evil witch spoke to her, rejoicing.

Cassie's eyes widened in horror. She knew the gravity of the situation. 'No! This can't be! I need to escape from this. Otherwise, the rescue mission will be compromised.

What if this evil witch will betray Liam and others while using my body? How could this happen?'
