Since their parents were close to each other, their sons and daughters also became friends. They would always hang out when they were still kids so everyone had a very close bond with each other.

When they grew up, they seldom met each other because of their studies. Ayumi and Elijah studied abroad while Kenji entered the military. Allen had become busy assisting his Uncle in managing the company of Sy Corp.

Cassie and Christian isolated themselves because of the threat from guardian warriors. They trained themselves with the help of their parents and Zu Wan.

Because of their schedules, the young ones couldn't meet together. After a long time, they finally reunited here at Allen's house but Cassie and Ella were not around.

Allen somehow knew what happened to the two so he initiated this housewarming party to cheer his cousin, Christian. Besides, Elijah and Ayumi came back from abroad.

Elijah was not able to control herself from hugging Christian. She missed this guy so much. On the other hand, Christian just stood frozen in his spot. He was caught off guard by this sudden hug.

But this was not new to him. Ever since Elijah was young, she often hugged Christian as if he was her favorite pillow and stuffed toy.

After a few seconds, Christian finally lifted his hands, hugging her back. A small curve flashed in his mouth as he said, "Welcome back, Eli…"

Myrene was amused to see Christian smile and his gentle expression. As his secretary, she never saw him in this kind of mood. So her boss was capable of smiling and being gentle too.

"I missed you!" Elijah blurted out as she tightened her grip on Christian's body.

The smile on his lips widened further after hearing that. "Me too…"

Allen: "Ahem! Ahem!"

Kenji: "Cough! Cough!"

The two men cleared their throats letting Elijah and Christian know that they were still there. Elijah just giggled before releasing Christian from that tight embrace. Christian just groaned inwardly as he didn't want it to end yet but Allen and Kenji already ruined the moment.

"Who is she? Are you Christian's girlfriend?" Ayumi asked as soon as she noticed Myrene's presence.

Elijah hastily looked at Christian, giving him a questioning look while Allen shot his cousin Ayumi a warning gaze. How could she suddenly ask that thing after witnessing the sweet reunion of Christian and Elijah?

"NO!" Christian promptly responded, shaking his head vigorously, his eyes were fixed on Elijah. "this is Myrene… my secretary, not my girlfriend."

Myrene waved her hands as she greeted everyone. "Hello. Thank you for inviting me here."

"I'm the one who invited her!" Allen butted in as he explained, specifically to Elijah.

Christian heaved a sigh of relief when his relationship with Myrene had been cleared.

"Welcome, Myrene. Don't be shy. Just feel at home. Okay?" Ayumi held her hand for a handshake.

"Yes. Please enjoy our company. We are not going to eat you," Elijah also approached Myrene.

"Thank you, everyone." Myrene felt grateful for their hospitality.

"Let's go to the rooftop. We will eat a barbecue. I also bought drinks!" Allen invited them. The rooftop had been set for tonight's party.

As everyone walked upstairs, Christian was reminded of his twin sister. If only Cassie was here, she would be so loud, happy, and excited. She loved gathering with their cousins and friends.

Christian was lost in his thoughts when someone grabbed his hand. "Are you okay, Tian?" Elijah asked him worriedly. "Did you fight with Cassie? Where is she?"

Christian just shook his head. "I'm fine. Cassie went somewhere together with Aunt Ella. So she couldn't come here." Christian didn't want their friends to worry so he decided to hide the truth that Cassie and Ella went missing. They went to another world.

"Okay. So what's with your troubled expression?" Elijah pinched his cheeks, stretching them out to make him smile.

Christian held her hands to stop her. "Not my face, Eli…"

Elijah could only giggle and stick her tongue out to tease Christian. Then she pulled Christian's hand, going to the rooftop. Everyone was waiting for them.

Upon reaching the rooftop, the six of them settled down. Kenji and Ayumi started cooking the barbecue while Allen entertained Myrene. He made sure that Christian's secretary wouldn't feel out of place. Besides, he was the one who invited her.

Christian and Elijah sat next to each other. Myrene was stealing glances at them from time to time. Then she asked Allen about the relationship between the two.

"Are my Boss and Elijah very close?" Myrene couldn't help but feel envious. Christian was always cold towards her, but when it came to Elijah, he was showing his gentle side.

Allen bobbed his head as he poured some drinks on Myrene's glass. "Yes. They are very close. Christian often fought with his twin sister, Cassie but Elijah would always become their mediator. She was the one who could make Christian calm down. I guess that's her charm!"

Myrene just smiled faintly when she heard that. She tossed another look between Christian and Elijah. She just hoped Christian would also treat her well just like how he was treating Elijah.

"Are they a couple?" Myrene asked Allen once more. She was very curious about the two.

This time Allen let out another chuckle. "No. They are not."

"Why? I think they look good together." Myrene felt confused. In her eyes, she could tell that the two had special feelings for each other.

"Because we are all friends!" Allen stated matter-of-factly.

"Huh? What do you mean?" Myrene still couldn't get it.

Allen moved closer to Myrene and told her a secret. "Christian, Kenji, Ayumi, Cassie, Elijah, and I made a promise. No one is allowed to have a relationship within our circles! Anyone who breaks this will be kicked out of our group!"

Myrene: "..."

'Seriously. They made such a promise to themselves? What will they do if two fall for each other? They can't control their hearts from falling in love.'

As if Allen could read her mind, he gave her another explanation.

"Most of us here are blood-related. So we were confident that no one would fall in love with each other. Cassie and Christian are my cousins from my father's side. Ayumi is my cousin from my mother's side. Elijah and Kenji are the only people not related to us by blood."

"Okay. So Elijah and Christian may fall in love with each other." Myrene concluded.

But Allen shook his head once more. "Elijah has a boyfriend abroad. Everyone knows that!"

"Eh? Are you sure? So what's with the loving expression she had a while ago?" Myrene kept on insisting there was something between Christian and Elijah.

"Elijah? Hmmm. She is just so sweet to everyone. Among us, Christian was the last person she had met today. She also hugged me, Kenji, and others. So don't give meaning to that, okay?"

Myrene just nodded her head, averting her gaze back to Elijah and Christian. She was still not convinced that nothing was going on between the two.

'Am I mistaken? Or am I just imagining things?' Myrene shrugged her shoulders before taking a sip of her drink.
