Chapter 31: but harder
But the reasons clan kids ranked highest was because of their background in martial art training as a kid.
Wealthy people could offer similar benefits, but not as refined.
In first place was a clan kid that didn't belong to the five with perfected qigongs. With a qigong that had shadow abilities, it was said he was close to unlocking his first gene lock.
Raising his brow in interest, he motivated himself to enter the sanctuary's.
Riding the now battle ready giant pink Dragoon into the horizon.
He wondered if he could command his pets to summon the rift.
[Mystic Plume Dragoon: Beserk Super beast soul battle mode (evolveable)]
Similarly berserk like his demonic unicorn he summoned the unicorn on top, while flying in the sky at great speeds.
Planning to conduct his experiments in super creature territory, or no man's land.
It took but a day of travel, in comparison to what should take weeks.
Landing on a mountain top, he took in the view. The shelter too far to see even a dot.
He mentally commanded his unicorn to summon the rift.
Watching it not react, he wondered if it was even possible let along a beast soul.
Though in the next second the unicorn screamed, and a dark light lit on its horn, as again a spacial rift made its presence known.
Mentally commanding the unicorn to cancel its actions, it disobeyed. Approaching the rift with resolve.
Ren wished to try calling it the rift himself, but it seemed he couldn't unless he wished to part with his pets.
Annoyed at his experiments being cut short, he resolved to follow.
With the unicorn seeming to step onto invisible steps to the rift, he willed the dragoon to follow.
With him on top, the unicorn with its own sentience understood Ren was joining it and jumped back on the large pink ride to ascend.
Entering the rift, a daunting pressure pressed down upon them, but none wavered or bent.
Standing strong and pushing forward the pressure became more pronounced.
Penetrating their body's and manifesting an invisible mist within their bodies, causing slight irritation.
The next second each of them blacked out but kept concise and standing strong.
Beginning to hallucinate illusions, earning their senses that seemed to go on for an eternity.
Till their all concisely strove to take a deep breath, but struggled to grasp it.
Requiring their entire focus, feeling suffocated. They each one by one detached from the illusion and breathed in a dark aura from the surroundings.
Feeling the freshest breath they had ever taken, their eyes opened. Not knowing when they closed, now in a new realm.
Teeming with life, and a greater gravity. Their strengthens were surprised. But each breath brought a pleasure that suppressed all worries.
Ren took half a mind to check his system and soul sea.
Realizing he kept his two companions beast souls, and that he could control them. They underwent a change, able to enter a second sanctuary pet mode, and keep a first sanctuary battle mode.
He checked his system, seeing an extra century slapped onto his lifespan.
And Super Body: Dust of the Prime, he needed to test out and learn all about.
He gradually came to his senses, rid of the pleasure. He flexed his muscles feeling the evolution of strength, he needed to get used to it.
Gazing across the rock expanse he found himself on. He picked a direction and bang his travel.
Himself being the fastest of his pets, aswell as needing to get used to his doubled strength.
He ran straight for days, also knowing he was stuck in this environment till he found a way out.
Unfortunately their wasn't a single creature, as if he was on the moon, with increased gravity.
Gradually a clif came into view, and below was an endless expanse of ocean.
Unfortunately the winds and current were so strong he couldn't climb or fly down to hunt fish for substance.
So far he had been fine, but now his hunger was taking a toll.
Luckily there were puddles everywhere and it rained softly everyday, so he wasn't thirsty.
Doing the only thing he could, he picked a new direction, left or right.
And continued, almost endlessing a week had passed since his ascension. And he was at his wits ends, forcing himself to take a break, he unconsciously began channeling his qigong.
Taking a break, if worst came to worst, he could always take the risk to jump into the ocean.
He could breathe underwater, and traverse fine. With his evolved body he could hunt ordinary and primitive creatures with ease.
Mutants' creatures may cause a challenge, but he was curious if he could challenge a sacred blood creature.
Though his qigong felt different in this new environment, as if it could grow. It's flow seemed to dance in an elegant rhythm, slowly he felt energized.
A flow of energy from his soul and spirit made him feel renewed. Falling asleep, unconsciously still practicing. He woke up a day later, looking healthier than when he ascended to the next sanctuary.
His eyes gaining more determination, he started moving forward, in tandem with his qigong.
Another week of constant spiriting, and he felt no less tired or draining, continuing on like a zombie or robot.
A sense of relief washed over him as new terrain made its presence known in front of him.
A valley littered with a myriad of flowers and vines, stretching out infinitely.
Ren glancing at a mouse with horns playing with a flower. He crouched down, hiding his presence, getting close enough he darted.
Catching the creature in his hand with surprising ease.
"Ordinary creature horned-jinx killed. Beast soul gained. Eat its flesh to gain 0 to 10 ordinary geno points randomly."
Glancing at the useless arrow beats soul he obtained. Ren true to his old beginnings didn't even bother to cook the creatures.
Drinking its blood, then consuming its raw meat. While never halting his journey onward.
"Flesh of horned-jinx eaten. One ordinary geno point gained."
…
Catching sight of another creature that seemed to smell the blood he was drinking. A beetle-like creature with an animalistic face glared at him.
Darting forward, the creature panicked at his speed. Not even realizing when a hand grabbed its body off the ground and its neck twisted.
"Primitive creature powder-bug killed. No beast soul gained. Eat its flesh to gain 0 to 10 primitive geno points randomly."
Spending the next three days continuing forward and consuming a handful of ordinary and few primitive creatures with ease.
Talling seventy geno points of the two groups. He caught sight of a shelter, still not seeing any large creatures, spirits or people.
Ren stealthily climbed the shelters wall, seeing nothing but destruction. He frowned, exploring the shelter in caution.
He arrived at the spirit hall, opening its untouched but grand doors.
He sighed seeing it empty, then again when seeing the broken teleporters.
Never knowing why he cared so much about the alliance, when they wasn't much it offered him
He had to continue his journey, switch biomes again into a creepy swamp. He was glad with the cruisene change, even though the amphibians the swamp offered were more disgusting.
A day into traversing the swamp and he paused, feeling something lock onto him.
Waiting for something to happen, he felt a slight tremble of the ground. Instinctively jumping, just as a mouth came out of the ground surrounding him.
