SuperGene body mind soul

Chapter 32: I have a bunch of unique ideas

His eyes widened, as he summoned his old wing beast souls. Successfully dodging being swallowed, realizing the wings were unnecessary.

He landed, watching the rest of the body show itself. A large bug showed itself, its but being the large threatening mouth.

Ren, launching at the bug, tried to slowly turn around to defend and re-enter its hole.

His hand struggled to penetrate the bugs armor, leaving a dent.

Two more punches, making a bloody gash. While one to the bugs true head put it down for good

"Mutant creature fart-mud troll killed. No beast soul gained. Eat its flesh to gain 0 to 10 mutant geno points randomly."

Satisfied with his ability against the creature, he understood mutant creatures could harm him and if unlucky kill him.

But he had hope he could challenge a sacred blood creature.

Unfortunately the bug was too big and disgusting for even him to consume. So he continued his journey, the swamp not nearly as large as the other environments.

Though its edge infested the next environment, riddling its ground with vines and large roots.

He gazed at a new shelter ahead. This one teeming with life, apparent that it was filled with beasts. He grunted, wonder what the strongest creature there was.

Stealthily approaching, he new infiltration would be impossible, unless it was night.

Even then he didn't have much hope, feeling the birds should spot him, regardless of the light level.

So approaching the entrance, he was noticed and roared at.

Not knowing if the mutant creature could communicate or understand him. He spoke, "I come in peace, I'd like to talk to the spirit."

But he just got roared at again, though the beasts didn't approached him, the gates opened.

He was sure this wasn't a super shelter, but possible a royal one.

Glancing forward, he took a step watching the beasts ready to pounce at him.

Walking forward a male spirit glared at him. "What is a human doing here?"

Looking like humanoid bear, draped in furs and clawed hands

"Huh, oh I was just traveling and got lost. Are there any human shelter nearby? Otherwise can I use the teleported here?" He asked an absurd question, as if clueless. But he genuinely didn't didn't think it was impossible.

"You are courting death!" The spirit slammed his staff down, but no creature moved. Meaning conversation wasn't over.

"Uh can I trade something for it's access?" Ren offered.

"Haha, human bargaining?" The spirit laughed. "Well if you can kill me and everything here you can!"

"Ugh," Ren slumped, internally grumbling at the waste of this conversation

The next second he dashed out of the shelter.

"Think you can run!" The spirits voice echoed, as a torrent of creatures chased him.

But none caught him, abandoning him after half a day.

He was annoyed at the spirit, not wanting to risk challenging a royal spirit and an army of beasts.

Although confident in facing a sacred blood beast after maximizing his ordinary geno points and hastily aproaching primitive points.

Mutant and sacred blood creatures vastly rarer to encounter, only having faced less than ten in the secound sanctuary.

Most being big ugly mud bugs launching surprise attacks.

Somehow not earning a single beats soul from them.

He marched forward, encounting another abandoned shelter missing functioning teleporters.

He continued, after staying in the sanctuary for two months he finally reached a human shelter. Not even taking the time to learn about it, he returned to the alliance.

Sending a few messages out, he took the day off. Only waking up to the sound of a knock at his door.

To see his two sweet friends together with a few plates of food.

"Dude are you good?" Xi spoke up.

"Yeah I'm fine why? And when did you two get so close and considerate for me?" Ren asked back.

Min always taking a back seat, cold and aloof.

"You've been stuck in your room for two days, after you messaged us to hang out yesterday!" Xi fumed and Min frowned

Sigh, "sorry that keeps happening to me. I was stuck in the sanctuary's for god knows how long." Ren replied, letting them in and eating some of the food they brought him.

"Anyway, how has your guys progress been? Especially you Xi, your low on the leader board last time I checked." Ren added

"Hah, talk about low! Your way worse than me!" Xi said, startling him, realizing the situation.

"Awe you're right, but it's not accurate." Ren conceded.

Hmph, "well I'm about to evolve now. Had a stroke of good luck." Xi smirked.

"Xi, sometimes you remind me of my girlfriend." Ren sight after hearing Xi, hmph.

"What you have a girl friend!" Xi exclaimed.

"Oh yeah, you'll probably meet her next year." Ren spoke, glancing at their third friend. "What about you Min?"

"Umm, I've evolved. Started in a human shelter, doing alright." She commented kinda bluntly.

"Right, Xi what was all that about on your ranking description?" Ren asked.

Smiling wryly back. "It's nothing just a nack I picked up." Xi downplayed.

"Don't mess with me, tell me about it straight. I'm interested." Ren pushed.

"It's really nothing, the military thinks I have more potential than I actually do." Xi seemed to confess.

"Then don't hold back and tell us everything." Ren continued.

"No, it's just easy for me to replicate attacks that I see and make contact with me. Otherwise I'm pretty useless." Xi spilled.

"Does it even work on beasts?" Ren asked

"No? Kinda? I don't really know." Xi added.

"Well I'm interested in what your geno body will be, it seems you have a little foreshadowing." Ren spoke his piece.

And they finished up their conversation and meal, allowing Ren to freshen up and relax.

Huangfu Jing had been radio silent, no doubt training hard. He wondered if she had solved the geno life essence consumption problem yet, but didn't ask.

Ren didn't want to interrupt or get in her way, in such a pivotal moment for her.

So he waited for her to contact him.

Walking around campus and attending a few classes.

Ren browsed his comlink, private to the military institute.

Studying the current events of military school drama and activities around the galaxy.

The front page stated for the second time in human history, a student had become a surpasser.

A senior in their final year, surprisingly not from the central alliance military academy. Or the second ranked military academy, but the third ranked.

Somebody from the Ning family. A family who had a connection to Han Sen, due to his fake grandfather.

A family who had a member participate in the first documented entry of the sanctuary.

An excursion that met god, a cursed meeting.

But this family was most notable for their knowledge and efforts in slaying super creatures.

With little success in their endeavors. Ren pondered the identity and importance of the new surpasser.
