SuperGene body mind soul

Chapter 30: original story’s are more interesting

Approaching it himself, he summoned the two headed serpent. Allowing it to do what it wished, the snake similarly approached the rift, entering and not looking back.

The pink lizard glanced at it, but ignored it. At that moment Ren realized he couldn't command the snake, or even unsummon it.

But he still had it, eventually they both moved forward and out of sight.

His beast soul wasn't destroyed, but it was also missing from his soul sea. Without the sanctuary system saying anything.

He was left to speculate as the rift slowly closed.

Ren wished to enter himself, but would rather figure out how to summon the rift himself and ascend.

Turning around to head back with a lot on his mind, he paused seeing another pink lizard flying in the sky above him.

This one dwarfing the last, Ren darted into the sky with a super wings in the form of a butterfly's.

The lizard was dancing in the sky, as if celebrating its child's feats.

Noticing Rens approach, it roared and charged him annoyed by the small creatures audacity.

*Boom

They collided, with Ren dodging the lizards jaws and claws. He unsummoned his wings and grabbed onto the flying lizard with the Ghosthaunt, geno art.

Stabbing his arm into the flesh of the beast in succession.

Half believing he wouldn't be able to make a scratch.

*Roar

The lizard was anger, continuing its dive to the ground. Ren made sure to stab his arm into the root of the beast wings, in hope of nullifying its usability.

With some success, he leaped off the lizard with his wings reappearing. The lizard landed into the ground looking worse for wear.

Rejoining the fight, it wasn't long tools the beast lay lifelessly.

"Super creature Mystic Plume Dragoon killed. Beast soul gained. Flesh inedible. Consume it's life-essence to gain 0 to 10 ordinary geno points randomly."

[Mystic Plume Dragoon: Super beast soul pet]

"Hah, what are the odds?" Ren muttered summoning the small pink lizard, to consume its larger self.

In a few moments, the beast including the skeleton was gone and the pet reentered his soul sea for transformation.

Now ready to head back. He was met with a familiar face.

"Huangfu Jing? What are the odds?" Ren asked, seeing her glare at him with her arms crossed.

"You could have told me that geno art was so intense." She said.

"Oh that, well I'm pretty sure I warned you." He said, scratching his cheek.

Hmph, she just looked away.

"I plan on evolving soon, we might not see each other Till next year." He responded.

Making her look toward him with a frown. "You've already…"

"Yes." He interrupted.

Looking down. "At least help me find some." She asked, aggravated.

They spoke, without saying the word aloud.

"I have." Ren handed a map he had made in the past two months.

For some reason she was back to glaring at him. "How much time do you have, I can tell your not quite ready yet." Making her look down again.

"Only a few hours…" she was interrupted again, as Ren picked her up with his wings summoned and they flew off in the distance.

Spending time together, he asked Huangfu Jing to summon the nightmare cat to dig a hole, as they waited.

The cat came back with a life geno essence.

"Try to eat or lick this." Ren said.

"What!? That just came out of the ground!" She yelled.

Chuckling, he explained more about super creatures until she believed him and tried.

But of course she couldn't consume it. "What's wrong?" She asked in confusion.

"I don't really know. From what I can tell, you need a special creature, fruit, qigong or experience to be capable of consuming them." Ren explained.

"I've researched it abit, but I don't have much results. This one's too big to swallow like most, otherwise I'd recommend another geno art." Earning a glare from her.

"No more geno arts!" She practically screamed.

"Hah, okay. I don't really have anymore anyways." He responded.

"If I figure something out I'll tell you, but you might be on your own with this. Though I do know it's possible with some resources from the alliance, just not which or how." He admitted.

"A special qigong you said though." Huangfu Jing asked.

"Yes, well. Potentially only if you unlock a gene lock, but I don't know. It's not clear." He added.

"How did you consume…" she asked, and Ren explained till their time was up.

Going their separate ways, Ren felt oddly powerless.

Checking his message in the alliance. Ren planned to go to a few classes and hang out with his two friends.

Even though Min was always meditating in her room, and Xi was always practicing his new geno arts he bought with the beast souls Ren gave him.

Ren forced everybody to hang out and socialize when he could.

Except he didn't find much to do in the alliance, the place was filled with distractions and conflict.

No matter what he did it led him back to the sanctuaries to truly grow and evolve.

Why practice in the alliance when he could in the sanctuary's.

Though he did figure out the semester finals were competitive in nature.

With tournaments and the like, the weakest and least capable were kicked out, and transfers were recruited.

While top performers were rewarded with ranks and geno resources.

Prompting Ren to research his peers, a list and description of each had already existed outside of his knowledge where the staff predicted the most powerful and competent students.

Boasting twenty thousand freshmen, Ren looked himself up.

Ranked 897th, it was compiled with old data. Remarking his strength when he first applied calculating him having 346 geno points at the time. His military shelter recommendation, and his background predicting he had an arsenal of skills.

Planning to look up his friends, he realized there was another tab with updated ranking.

Clicking on it, he saw his rank drop to 11,364. Checking out his data, he gave a breath of relief that nothing was different. That had no more information on him than what he sent.

Looking up Min, she was ranked 304th in the initial rankings and 54th in present rankings.

Seeing the differences in her description from the past to present. He was surprised to learn the ranking recorded public and private usage of training equipment to make more accurate rankings.

Searching Xi, who had ranked 15,639th in the past and 5,478 in the present. He realized he made a lot of progress, with a side note to his name remarking he had developed Geno arts of his own without geno essences, before a few months ago. Ren was shocked, planing to ask him about it later.

Ren decided to check the top rankers, noting the top 34 were evolvers. First place were of course well settled clans.

In the alliance there were five known clans with qigongs that could unlock all ten geno locks. While their were a number that were unofficial, such as any Blood Legion or Xuan techniques.

But there were an infinite number of qigongs that had less than ten, dozens with nine and hundreds with eight.

While this may foreshadow the strength of the qigong as a whole, it really mattered most after the gene locks were unlocked.
