Chapter 28: I have a dozen or so fanfics like this
Such a reaction would be expected if the name of the beast soul was 'heavenly go.' The same as her qigong.
But this all became pointless speculation after she revealed the truth while they were bathing in a nearby river.
Confirming his initial suspicions. "The beast soul I got is classified as Super." She spoke hesitantly.
Feigning confusion, "what do you mean? Let me see?" Ren asked.
Without reluctance, she did so. Transferring the beast soul.
Allowing Ren to observe a formless creature in his soul sea. Upon further investigation it took the form of a large needle. Obviously a weapon type beast soul.
Transfer it back to Huangfu Jing, he spoke. "Its not impossible for such creatures to exist, right?"
Making her think. "It would make sense for us to never see them if they are even rarer than sacred creatures." She paused. "Maybe their intelligent and avoid humans?"
Ren didn't mind the thought, adding layers of speculation. After all he didn't know everything, and perhaps there was truth to the speculation. "Maybe the creatures can also evolve into the higher sanctuaries, and do so at that rank?" A question he throughout their. One he had the answer too, of other sanctuary's but not the first.
But that question seemed to make a lot of sense to Huangfu Jing, by the shine in her eyes.
Though they wouldn't be able to hunt such creatures this time. A few months had come and gone. It was time for them to head back to the alliance.
Thankfully Ren had successfully maxed out his super genes in time, but wasn't quite ready to evolve.
On their trip back, Huangfu Jing wouldn't stop thinking about super creatures. Knowing he couldn't keep his supergene secret forever, he spoke up.
"Huangfu Jing, let's talk." He spoke, earning her attention at his seriousness and choice of words.
Transferring the nightmare cat pet beast soul to her, and seeing her eyes widen. "Listen I know a bit about super creatures, so let me explain." Earning a curious glare from the girl.
"The cat was a sacred blood pet beast soul, and turned super upon entering its battle form." He explained, allowing her to understand and gasp at the fact.
"So pet beast souls can rank up a stage? That's perfect!" She spoke excitedly.
Smiling faintly. "It is. Though you need to feed it right, for that to happen." He added. "There is something else though. I've realized the knowledge of super creatures is not unknown." Pausing slightly.
"Many powerful clans and families have been secretly investigating and trying to hunt these creatures to no avail."
"I've actually see a team of ten people who maxed out their sacred geno points, evolved, then hunted a super creature. All were slaughtered." He lied but knew such scenarios existed.
While Huangfu Jing was shocked, he continued. "Actually their existence is known very well in the higher sanctuary's thanks to spirits and intelligent creatures. I'm sure your master is well aware of them."
"With the nightmare cat, you can spare against it to get accustomed to Super creatures and how to fight them." Pausing again he sent another beast soul toward her. "Two geno arts will help you, but be extremely careful with them. I've actually hunted a few, keep it a secret because I'm not alone." He finished, as they chatted a little more about the topic.
But Huangfu Jing was lost in thought most the time, reaching the shelter they hugged and parted ways.
He knew he would be busy the coming days, and wouldn't be able to help her much. So he gave her a super beast soul armor to keep her safe. As well as an improved Hershey mantra, that integrated other organs than just the heart to be tempered. Not to mention yin yang blast.
He sighed, knowing her hands would be full. His dad was busy as usual, but found the time to go with him to the military academy.
Taking a big spacecraft to the heart of the alliance, the most protected land of the humans to nurture the next generation.
Ren spent his time cultivating in meditation. Getting off the ship to be welcomed by a show of military force. Mechas and men holding laser guns parading around. Weapons that could threaten even the most seasoned surpassers.
Ren and his dad toured the school, attended orientation, found his classes and own room before saying their goodbyes.
Luckily he was able to get some sacred blood beast souls from his dad that belonged to the second sanctuary.
Almost ready to ascend. Especially since he had already noticed a few freshmen having evolved.
Meanwhile Huangfu Jing could be seen spasming on the ground looking skinny and starved.
Struggling to consume dozens of nutrient solutions that were engineered to satisfy evolvers.
Gradually looking more healthy, she passed out. And a figure watching in the shadows stepped out and picked her up.
"That boy gave her such a cursed geno art." She spat.
As another figure, this time a male stepped out of the shadows. "Indeed, if what she says is the truth and he has already mastered this technique. He'd more than likely have what it takes to inherit my qigong."
Hmph, "This all better be worth it. The war with the shura is threatening. But we should be more concerned with the positions of humans in the sanctuary's." The female voice spoke.
"I agree, it's a much vaster realm with more potential. But if we don't face the shura here, they'll eventually chase us into the sanctuary." The male voice spoke, his gaze penetrating into the sky at a warship drifting through space.
The next second a purple aura exited his body and condensed on the knocked out girl, in the hands of her master, who didn't interfere.
A moment later, the girl looked much healthier and stronger, but still asleep.
With a grin the man spoke again. "I can't wait to meet him."
Ren though was stuck in the alliance for the week under mandatory classes. Needing to learn some science, math, technology and geno oriented skills and facts.
None of the classes were mandatory, except for the first week and end of semester tests.
Thankfully his mind was sharpened like most with qigongs and geno arts. Reading and memorizing the given textbooks were a breeze.
Only needing little review, Ren took the week to solely focus his classes. If he didn't he could be expelled at the end of the year.
Something he didn't mind much, but would rather not get in trouble and have unnecessary difficulties.
Ren wandered the campus, everybody here either accomplished veterans, researchers or ofcourse highly talented scicions of powerful families.
Ren had long been a loner but wished to make some connections. Most people seem to be acquainted with each other. But spotted a few who were similarly alone.
One was from the Lou family, owner of a particular powerful ten geno lock qigong. Sensitive to the shura, he stayed away.
Another was from the Xue family, similarly owner of a ten geno lock qigong. With a nasty side effect of anger and madness that the main character solved in the future.
He approached the teen. "Hello, I'm Suzyu Ren. I don't know anybody here. What's your name?"
Looking up, the beautiful dark haired girl nodded. "Xue Min." She responded without much reaction.
"Do you know anybody here?" He asked.
"No." She said bluntly.
With a slight twitch on his face, Ren took a deep breath. Knowing the only way to make a friendship with this girl was to be overly social.
"Really? I would have thought someone from the Xue family would have good connections." He paused. "What about in the sanctuary's, how's your progress? I'm just about to evolve."
Though before she could answer, they were interrupted. "Really you already ready to evolve? Have you maxed out on sacred blood geno points?" A voice Ren, knew was eavesdropping joined the conversation.
The last of freshmen who was alone, though Ren didn't think this person belonged to big family or organization.
"Of course, I just wanted to sell most of my beast souls before ascending." Ren responded, glancing at a small teen with piercing gold eyes. "What's your name?" He asked with a smile.
"Hah, I'm Dong Xi. How did you get so many geno points so fast? I still have half to go." He asked slightly exacerbated.
