Chapter 25: should I continue this story
"That sounds fair, but I'll need my master's approval. At Least until I'm strong enough." She agreed in anticipation.
With little contemplation Ren made another proposal. "How about a trade, now of just our movement techniques?"
"Ah-well, I don't know." She again wasn't too comfortable with spilling her secrets that she didn't even feel belonged to her.
"It's okay, I'll go first and you can judge how worth my technique is compared to yours." Ren decided, if he truly was going to be in a relationship with somebody, he'd want his partner to be as prepared as possible.
As for if she could keep the technique a secret? He knew of people in higher positions of power, they would keep the technique to themselves.
Ren only feared Huangfu Jing would share his techniques with her master. Something that he didn't believe was much of a concern.
For Huangfu Jing and him are already tied together, if her master wanted to do something to him it would hurt her own disciple.
Something Ren knew she wouldn't do, since he knew many, master—disciple relationships were intense and beyond the level of even a family bond of mother and daughter.
Not knowing how to respond, and not wishing to disappoint Ren, she nodded in obedience.
So he continued, describing from memory the insights of the Dongxuan Sultras movement method.
Not the actual geno art, just it's auxiliary ability. Though its said that if talented enough, one can actually derive an entire geno art simply from one or two of its extended techniques.
A feat Han Sen accomplished with a few arts, such as the Jade Skin sultra.
Ren already knew that the Heavenly Go technique was based on precise movements based on extreme analytical abilities, often compared to the finesse of strategy intense board games such as Chess.
While the Dongxuan sultra was based off the ability to understand the world and control it to allow each of your movements to become perfect and profound.
More simply put, Heavenly Go was to manipulate yourself in the world, while the Dongxuan sultra was to manipulate the world.
There was another technique extremely similar in nature to the two, beyond humanity and the sanctuary's grasp to become one with the world, to follow its whims but not to control it in any capacity.
It's unknown whether these techniques of such brilliance known to mankind were self created.
But from everything Ren knew of from the original story. The origin was the sanctuary's, being a natural generator for the complexity.
Though the story mentioned that some of the techniques were somehow sent to the sanctuary's from the genoverse. Most likely in connection with the crystallizers.
As the discussion came to an end, Ren started hands-on teaching. Showcasing the technique, a few days passed.
A few days later, the nightmare-cat used to successfully find the four-armed ape super creature.
The beast seemed to be resting deep within a cave, its lair.
Ready to take it on in a fight to the death. Ren snuck out of bed in the night, to avoid Huangfu Jing.
He descended to the back of a mountain ridge in the darkness of night. Something he was long prepared for.
Channeling a geno art to acquire some form of night vision.
He swiftly descended the rough terrain. It didn't take long to find the entrance.
Increasing the number of his geno arts being circulated, he crept through the cave in stealth with his beast-soul pet watching his back for anything unexpected.
Though Ren was anything but unequipped and unprepared. So nothing unexpected occurred, leading them to reach the beast's resting place deep within the cave.
Gazing at the apes figure, he believed this would be an easy assassination.
Creeping closer to the figure, of which didn't react in any way. He could now distinguish that the apes arms were wrapping its body up like a cacoon, probably sleeping.
The special thing was the arms seemed to have changed form, shifting into a metallic like substance.
Ren wasn't sure if he could pierce the sleeping apes' metallic shell like form.
Taking a second to think he waited, hoping for the ape to wake up and become protected.
Though he had a time limit of four hours before he had to return to camp.
During this time he decided to not mediate but to immerse himself in total stealth.
Awaiting like an assassin in the darkness, with an invisible shadow flanking his back in equal focus.
Ren was getting annoyed realizing the ape was not budging.
He started to make contact with the beast.
First by making some noise. He dropped a rock, waiting for a reaction, he stepped up his efforts.
Lightly tapping the ape, there was no reaction. So, charging up an intense attack with some running momentum, he shifted his weight into his fist directed with pure Yang energy.
The beasts form shivered with a metallic thud. There was no damage, similarly the ape was still unresponsive.
Squinting his eyes he dropped his stealth arts and inspected the beast to find nothing. Charging up another attack with all his strength, this time with yin.
His fist seemed to lightly pat the surface of the ape. But the ape this time reacted, feeling vulnerable it shook.
Actually trying to form back into its true form, but for some reason couldn't. Little did Ren know he had interfered with the beast's ability to shift its form with a yin attack that not only bypassed its metallic defense, but actually seemed to affect the soul of the creature.
His energy unknowingly affected the beast's own energy. Everybody had some form of energy. Woven deeply into the very cells of everything living, but that also meant this energy couldn't be utilized until one's perception could not only perceive their own cells, but also its energy.
Something that could be achieved subconsciously, or else you'd need to unlock your own gene locks to utilize.
