Starsea Fleet: Age of the Lord

Feng Mo's request wasn't excessive, and sure enough, the Federation responded the next day, agreeing to let him lead the Storm Fleet to the Vermilion Bird Star Fortress within three days. Regardless of the mission's outcome, he would be allowed to choose two treasures from the Federation's vault. Satisfied, Feng Mo accepted and notified Ai Er to prepare the fleet, planning to depart on the third morning. The delay was to give him time to advance to a Level 4 Gene Warrior.

Returning from his office to his estate on the main planet of the Moonfrost system—a noble's residence he had requisitioned after its owners fled in anticipation of his arrival—he headed to the underground meditation chamber. Kylan had already finished preparing the Level 4 Perfect Gene Serum. Given the difficulty of the process, she had used up three sets of materials before succeeding.

Unlike the light blue hue of the Level 2 serum and the sky blue of Level 3, the Level 4 serum was a deep blue, and Feng Mo could feel a faint heat radiating from the vial as he held it.

Gazing at the serum, Feng Mo recalled his previous advancements, which had been anything but pleasant. Even now, thinking of those experiences made him uneasy. Clenching his teeth, he raised the vial and drank it down.

The deep blue liquid flowed down his throat, leaving a faint burning sensation as it traveled to his stomach, where waves of warmth radiated through his body. Soon, he felt as if he were immersed in lava. His skin turned as red as a boiled prawn as he crouched over in pain, clutching his abdomen, stumbling around the bathing chamber. The heat from his body turned the water droplets on the floor into steam.

Seeing this, Ai Er and Kylan quickly activated the cold-water jets, surrounding Feng Mo with a rush of icy water, though it did little to alleviate his burning agony. His veins pulsed visibly across his skin, giving him a ghastly, strained expression.

As Feng Mo lay there in the frigid water, a cloud of steam filled the bathing chamber, creating a misty, ethereal atmosphere. Slowly, he felt the pain subside, his breathing steadied, and a surge of mental energy pulsed within him, ready to break free.

This was the unique transition from Level 4 to Level 5 Gene Warrior, marking the awakening of mental power. Similar to the psychic abilities of the Succubi race, this new strength added another dimension to his capabilities.

Physically drained from the transformation, Feng Mo could barely move. Ai Er and Kylan exchanged knowing glances and, with sly smiles, carried him to the soft bed, where they indulged in what felt like a night of triumphant conquest.

The Next Morning

Feng Mo woke early, careful not to disturb the two women still asleep beside him. He accessed his status panel.

Feeling revitalized, Feng Mo closed the screen. Having advanced to a Level 4 Gene Warrior, he now possessed a millennium-long lifespan—a term that seemed distant for someone only thirty-three.

After dressing with Ai Er and Kylan's assistance, he instructed Kylan to keep an eye on things before departing with Ai Er and Xing Shuwen to the Moonfrost Starport, where the Storm Fleet awaited. Boarding the command center of the Storm God, Feng Mo initiated the departure sequence.

"Destination: Vermilion Bird Star Fortress. Navigation route set, fleet diagnostics complete. The fleet will engage Level 5 synchronized warp drive. Gene Warriors Level 2 and below, please enter deep-sea mode for safety."

Xing Shuwen's voice echoed through the control rooms across the fleet. With that, the Storm Fleet set off. The southern warzone, home to three major empires—Tide Empire, Goldsky Empire, and Star River Empire—had suffered significant losses in the war against the Mechanoids. Previously comparable in strength to the Moonfrost Empire, the southern empires now depended on Federation support to fend off the Mechanoid threat.

The Starsea Federation had built three immense T5 star fortresses—Northern Black Tortoise, Eastern Azure Dragon, and Southern Vermilion Bird. The Western White Tiger Fortress, however, was never constructed, as resources were spared in the belief that the Sea of Stars on the west side did not need defense. Unexpectedly, the western region eventually rebelled, and the Storm Empire took control, completing the Federation's hold on the west.

Now, the Storm Empire, Starsea Federation, and the Humanoid Alliance formed a triad of powers, though nominally, the Storm Empire remained part of the Federation.

Upon arrival at the Vermilion Bird Star Fortress, Feng Mo received a warm welcome from the fleet commanders led by Gu Jun. Feng Mo recognized these commanders as his allies, individuals he could rely on in times of need. Without any pretense, Feng Mo greeted everyone warmly, regardless of their rank, exuding the charisma of a true leader.
