"Cloud" - Shea said as she looked at her beloved - "Can you call daddy?"

Cloud opened one eye before nodding and trying to contact the girl's father.

The group gathered, as if they were waiting for good news.

"Hello, Cloud-sama?"

"Kam, is everything okay?" - Cloud asked as he noticed the girls approaching him, as if they were trying to listen in on his conversation with the Haulia clan leader, though this was stupid because the communicator was designed to be able to receive messages at a high volume level.

"Yes, right now we're heading out to shut down the sea of trees barrier, though I can't give out information about our current location."

"Why?" - Cloud asked as he frowned.

"I'm sorry, I can't give details."

"I understand, you don't have to worry about details if that's what you wish, though I'd like to know how close they are to arriving" - Cloud said as he raised an eyebrow.

A small silence pervaded the place, until after a few seconds, Kam spoke again.

"About five more minutes, Cloud-sama, or at least that's what Ulfric-dono said."

"I guess he's leading you to a secret place in Verbergen, and that's why you can't tell me anything about your current situation" - Cloud said as he nodded calmly, noticing how the Haulia clan leader remained silent - "Don't worry, I don't plan to ask more about it, we'll wait quietly."

"That's good to hear" - nodded Kam as the two continued walking until they reached a huge wooden door that was covered with carved runes - "Impressive..."

"I know, the first time I saw the sacred door I was speechless too" - replied Ulfric as he shook his head.

"What do those runes mean?" - Kam asked as he ran his hand over the carved runes.

"I don't know" - replied Ulfric as he shook his head.

"Wait, you don't know?" - Kam asked with surprise.

"I'm sorry, but as I said, I have no idea what they mean" - replied Ulfric with a frown - "If I'm honest, I can feel it instinctively, but at the same time I can't put it into words."

"I don't understand" - muttered Kam as he shook his head.

"I know, I don't understand either, I can only feel it inside me" - replied Ulfric as he trudged towards the door and started saying something in a strange language.

Kam remained silent as he unconsciously tried to imitate those words, though no matter how hard he tried, he couldn't even simulate a syllable.

When he finished saying the "password", Ulfric looked at the confused Kam, because it was obvious that he had something to say - "You may be confused, but I am too."

"What do you mean?" - Kam asked as he raised an eyebrow.

"The truth is, I don't remember what I just said" - Ulfric replied as he watched the door slowly open - "As I said, I feel him unconscious and that's how I can open the door."

"I'm more confused" - said Kam as he decided to put this aside because this was something that was a waste of time - "Ok, let's go in"

"Ok" - nodded Ulfric as the two walked towards the inside of the room, only to see a tree with golden leaves that seemed to be surrounded by small lights of multiple colors - "The forest spirits are still very lively around the sacred tree, and there are even so many of them that I'm sure even you can see them."

"You mean the colored lights?" - Kam asked, only to see a ball of light shoot out in his direction and impact his forehead, sending him flying a few meters - "Ugh..."

"They don't like being treated with such disrespect" - Ulfric said as he shook his head.

"I'll keep that in mind" - muttered Kam while rubbing his forehead - "By the way, it's normal for them to attack just like that."

"No, it's just that near the sacred tree, they can materialize for a few seconds" - replied Ulfric as he continued walking towards the golden tree. His face now had a bit more color, showing that he had recovered a bit from his weakened state, though he was still breathing heavily due to the lack of mana in his system.

"Yes, the holy aura is helping me recover" - answered Ulfric as he took a long breath - "Putting that aside, it's time for us to deactivate the barrier."

"Ok" - nodded Kam calmly as he watched Ulfric put his hand on the tree and started channeling some of his mana.

"¡&%#&/()=!" - Ulfric again started saying things in a strange language as the golden tree glowed an intense white color.

Kam quickly closed his eyes because it was obvious that his vision could not resist the powerful glow produced by the sacred tree.

"¿?" - Cloud's eyes snapped open and he looked in Verbergen's direction with a serious expression.

"Did you feel it too, Cloud?" - Yue asked seriously.

"Yes, that holy aura, it's one I recognize" - Cloud replied with mild interest - "Such looks like this city is much more exciting than I thought."

"What are they talking about?" - Shea asked with a frown.

"That in Verbergen, there is a fragment of the tree world, Yggdrasil" - answered Cloud as he watched the fog below them slowly begin to disappear.

"Yggdrasil?" - Tio repeated in surprise, only to frown - "If something so powerful was on Verbergen? Why didn't we sense its presence?"

"Possibly, it's because it's sealed" - Cloud replied as he shook his head - "Anyway, it's not like discovering Verbergen's secret is our highest priority."

"Yggdrasil - you mean the tree from Norse mythology?" - Kaori asked in surprise - "Are you saying that the gods of the various pantheons, even the Japanese ones, are real?"

"Of course they are, although they have already left this world" - answered Cloud as he shook his head - "Or rather, their shadows."

"Shadows?" - Shizuku muttered as she frowned.

"You can't, or you don't wish to?" - Yue asked with a frown.

"I can't" - Cloud answered honestly.

"Contract?" - Tio asked as he lowered his altitude a bit to make the landing easier.

"Something like that, though we'd better save the conversation for later, now we have a job to do" - Cloud said seriously.

The girls looked at each other before nodding.

Cloud quickly jumped off Tio's back and fell at high speed after using gravity magic to increase his weight, thus reaching his destination faster.

Yue quickly created wings made of blood and flew behind her husband, while Kaori made a quick incantation in order to create wings of light. The silver-haired girl quickly took Myu in her arms and flew slowly to the ground.

"I guess it's our turn" - Remia said as she took the parachute and looked at it carefully.

"You'd better wait for Cloud and the others to land, because something tells me that the demons won't miss the opportunity to attack them while landing" - Tio said seriously - "Even, I would prefer you to jump after I launch my attack against them."

"I can jump?" - Shea asked while raising an eyebrow.

"Your body is tough enough to be able to withstand the impact, so you don't have much of a problem" - replied Tio while nodding.

"I guess we'll follow your instructions" - nodded Shizuku calmly.

"Here I go ~!" - Shea exclaimed as she jumped up and started falling at high speed.
