"How much more, Cloud?" - Tio asked while frowning.

"Just a little more, I can see a huge silhouette a few meters away" - Cloud replied as he saw a distorted image of Verbergen.

Tio continued flying until she heard Cloud say to stop.

The blond slowly looked down and saw the silhouette of the city they had come to help protect - "We're here."

Tio tried to descend a little, but before she could, she let out a sharp cry as she felt as if something was melting her stomach.

"Tio-san! Are you okay?" - Kaori asked as she used a healing spell in order to ease the dragon woman's pain.

"Yeah, I just didn't think the city was covered by a barrier" - Tio replied while frowning - "The plan to land from the sky, I don't think it will work, unless we change the target to outside of Verbergen."

"That we will do, but first, there's something I have to do" - Cloud replied as he pulled out his communicator sphere to try to contact Kam.

"Cloud-sama?" - Kam said in surprise as he felt his sphere begin to glow slightly.

"Are you about to talk to Cloud-dono?" - asked a very exhausted Ulfric, who had managed to be rescued by the Haulia clan leader.

"Yes" - nodded Kam as he looked around to make sure there were no enemies nearby.

After entering Verbergen and going to help the allies of the lion clan, he went to the main building where the elders were gathered, the place where he had heard that Ulfric was fighting with Sif, only to see how the traitor leader was on the floor not breathing and the elf leader was exhausted and showing signs of accelerated aging.

"That's good to hear, Cloud-sama" - Kam said as he made connection between the two communicators.

"Same said, Kam, although it's not time for greetings, I want you to tell me what's going on..."

"Hai!" - Kam exclaimed as he gave a quick report.

Ulfric didn't show an annoyed expression at the fact that Kam was giving important information about Verbergen, mostly because he knew that without the help of Cloud and his group, his kingdom's casualties would be much higher.

"I see, it's good to hear that they managed to kill the traitor, this solves some problems..."

"Where is he, Cloud-sama?" - Kam asked earnestly.

"We're just above Verbergen, the problem is that we can't land because of a barrier covering the city, so we plan to land to the northeast."

"A barrier?" - Kam asked as he looked at Ulfric.

"It's a defense mechanism that Princess Haltina designed to prevent aerial attacks that the natural barrier of the forest couldn't defend" - Ulfric answered with a tired tone - "Tell Cloud-dono to wait a bit, I'm going to deactivate the barriers, after all, they're only serving to help our enemies"

"I heard it all, and let me tell you that's an excellent idea, if you remove the barrier, they will lose the advantage of being able to know the surroundings of the forest, and we will be able to help them more easily"

"What do you mean they didn't find it!" - Arty exclaimed as he looked at his companions.

"I'm sorry, Arty, but Mr. Ulfric is nowhere to be found" - Mimi replied with an awkward smile because she was the one who said there was no danger.

"We have to find him, or the princess will lose her temper!" - Arty exclaimed as he took flight and checked the surroundings from the air to see if he could find any clues to the elf leader - "Mimi, search inside the building for clues!"

"Ok, ok, you don't have to yell at me!" - Mimi exclaimed in annoyance as she followed her leader's instructions - "Hmm, let's see, I'm sure there has to be something around the place!"

The harpy searched inside the room, only to feel as if a door was slamming in her face because no matter how hard she looked, she couldn't find anything that would give away what had happened. She had reached a dead end and would surely cause her superiors to reprimand her for not staying to keep watch.

She continued to observe the surroundings, until she spotted a small sleeve of blood on a wall outside the building.

"Hint!"- exclaimed Mimi excitedly because this was the only place that showed traces, so she quickly ran and started using her mana to be able to detect some particularity, which didn't take long because this blood had a huge concentration of natural power - "Bingo, it's elven blood, and the only elf in the place was Lord Ulfric!"

Mimi started dancing in excitement that she wasn't going to be admonished now that she had found clues to the elven leader's whereabouts - "Let's see, someone dragged Mr. Ulfric in that direction, though after a few steps, he started walking normally, which means that Mr. Ulfric didn't struggle to try to escape..."

The harpy girl began to make a few deductions that were honestly pretty accurate until she decided to start flying in that direction at a distance not so high off the ground so she could continue to observe the footprints.

"Yeah, this is nothing compared to the time I was flying around restlessly before I met you" - Tio replied with a small smile - "Leaving that aside, I can feel a faint dark presence approaching this place."

"I can feel it too, the demonic army is getting closer and closer" - Yue replied with a frown, after all, she, as a creature of the night could detect other creatures with similar affinities, such as demons.

"It's a bit worrisome, though it's nothing we can't fix when the barrier is destroyed" - Cloud said seriously - "Don't you think so too, Tio?"

"You're right" - nodded Tio as she looked down at the ground - "The moment the barrier is turned off, I have plans to launch my most powerful attack against them, though when I do I'm going to run out of energy, so I'm asking you to catch me, Cloud"

"Of course" - smiled Cloud as he nodded. He quickly handed Remia and the others who couldn't withstand the impact of such a high landing, some parachutes so they wouldn't suffer any damage.

"How much longer, Ulfric-dono?" - Kam asked as he followed the elf leader's instructions, after all, he was the only one who had the information about the location of the sacred tree.

"We are close, though I would like you to do something before I tell you how to get there" - Ulfric said seriously despite how exhausted and weak he was.

"You can tell me anything you want" - Kam answered seriously because he knew there was no way the elf would reveal one of Verbergen's most important secrets just like that.

"I want you to swear an oath by the sacred tree that you will not reveal this information, not even to Cloud-dono" - Ulfric said seriously - "And before you swear an empty oath, I want you to know that we are in the sacred territory and here the laws are very different from outside"

"Different?" - Kam repeated with surprise.

"Yes, here we are under the influence of the laws of the sacred tree, in other words, any oath you swear in its name, will carry enormous weight" - answered Ulfric seriously.

"I understand" - nodded Kam with a serene expression - "I, Kam, leader of the Haulia clan, promise not to reveal any kind of information that has any relation to the location of the Verbergen sacred tree!"

As he finished saying those words, he felt as if something penetrated his foot - "Ugh."

"That was the sacred tree approving your oath" - said Ulfric as he nodded seeing how quickly the leader of the rabbits had accepted his proposal - "Ok, now I want you to accompany me to the shrine"

"Ok" - nodded Kam as he shook his head before entering the strange and decrepit place that seemed to have suffered from the passage of time.
