577 576: Divine Riggs
After hearing that twelve of the elite Chosens were gathering people to participate in a raid against the Throne, Divine knew that he, Corey, and Melissa could not ignore the battle against the Throne or take it with levity.
Corey and Melissa had no idea who the Chosens Prince Zeran mentioned were, but he knew, and he also knew something very crucial about each of these Chosens.
In his mind, he had already decided in his mind that he was going to participate in the battle against the Throne, with or without joining Prince Zeran. What he just needed was information from the Prince.
According to the Prince, they got to learn of the Throne in the underground ruins of a large Temple of the Old Ones. He admitted that the ruins were a dangerous place, and the only reason why they were able to explore the ruined temple successfully was because they were a lot.
There were two Powers, five Principalities, twenty Titans, and over a hundred Nightmares in the underground ruined temple, and the prince of the Supreme God Empire killed a Power on his own, while they had to face the other Power, Principalities, and Titans.
After the battle, they saw some scrolls and artifacts in the treasury of the temple, however, most of the artifacts were cursed and if they carelessly took the artifacts, they would suffer dire and unwanted consequences.
The information regarding the Throne was obtained from one of the scrolls. The scroll also states that there was an artifact in the treasury that could kill the Throne. They were able to find the artifact, and this artifact along with the high number of elite chosens was what gave the Prince and the remaining Chosens the belief and confidence that they would be able to defeat the Throne which was comparable to an Immortal.
The location for the battle against the Throne was not determined yet, but the Prince believed that it would be held in the vicinity of the ruined Temple of the Old Ones which is close to the Stairs of Ascension.
After hearing all of these from Prince Zeran, Divine remained silent for some seconds, and to Corey and Melissa's surprise, he told the Prince that he accepted his invitation and was going to participate in the raid against the Throne.
Although Corey and Melissa were surprised by Divine's decision, they decided to trust Divine and also accepted the invitation of the 14th prince of the Scorching Sun Kingdom.
As the trio walked further and further away from the Mirstone Suit, Prince Zeran stood in front of the window and watched the receding backs of Corey, Divine, and Melissa, with his gaze remaining on Corey the longest before shifting to Melissa, and then Divine.
"All three of them are special."
As Prince Zeran watched the departing trio, a feminine voice flowed into his ears and a pair of hands appeared around the neck of the prince. The hands were fair, however, it had black scales and long claws on its fingers.
The hands curled around Prince Zeran's neck, and then a figure appeared close to his ear, however, this figure had no face. Its head was like that of a faceless shadow with no eyes, mouth, nose, and ears, but on the head was a pair of curled horns.
Beneath this being's head was the figure of a female, however, the figure wore no clothes and was naked. The only thing covering her private parts were the black scales which could be seen all over her body. On the figure's back were black wings that looked like that of a dragon.
Prince Zeran was not surprised or frightened by the sudden presence of this female being, and his sharp hazel eyes continued watching the departing figures of Corey, Divine, and Melissa. He did not react to the words spoken by the female shadowy being.
"Especially that Tier 2 kid. I felt a strange sort of suppression from him whenever I looked at him."
This time around, Prince Zeran reacted by raising his brows. "Suppression?"
The female being nodded while 'looking' at Corey. "Yes… I can't explain it properly, but I felt… inferior to him… Like his state of existence was much higher than mine."
"But that should not be possible." Prince Zeran frowned and glanced at the shadowy face of the female being, "You're a-"
"Yes, I know." The female being cut off Prince Zeran and nodded, "It should not be possible, but I felt it. In fact, I felt like if I tried to peer deeper into him to obtain more information about him, he would notice and realize."
Prince Zeran's already solemn expression became more pronounced and the frown on his face deepened when he heard this. He looked at Corey for some seconds, and then he spoke.
"Do you think I can make him one of mine?"
The female being remained silent for some seconds, and then she shook her head. "I'm not sure, but I have a feeling that it'll be risky."
"Hmm?" Prince Zeran raised his brows, and then his sharp hazel eyes glanced at Melissa.
"What's so special about her? From her status window, she's just a Vipermancer. Yes, the class is special, but she can only tame snakes."
Prince Zeran asked with a curious expression, and the female being shook her finger.
"The problem is not with her class, but with the snake she has tamed."
"The snake she has tamed?" Prince Zeran had a baffled and curious expression when he heard this, and then he looked at Melissa with more seriousness in his eyes.
"Yes, the main snake she has tamed is not normal. In fact, I have a feeling that its bloodline is not inferior to mine at all. It was hidden in her clothes, and although it could hide from your senses, its bloodline was too strong to hide from my senses."
Prince Zeran's eyes sharpened when he heard this, and a tinge of surprise flashed in his eyes.
"Are you certain?" He asked, and the female being chuckled with a tinge of amusement in his voice.
"Do you think I'll be wrong with something like this?"
Without waiting for a response from Prince Zeran, the female being continued speaking.
"Like I said, all three of them are special. It's so surprising that with how unique they are, they're companions and not leaders of a group or lone wolves. And from what you learned-"
"The two of them are under the heir of the House of Divine."
Prince Zeran continued the female being's words with an extremely solemn tone.
"Weren't some of you curious as to why the missing heir of the House of Divine was in the Underworld? I think you already know why, he wants to gather up those with high potential under him… He's quite a daring fellow I must say."
The female being chuckled with a tinge of amusement, and then she began to sink into Prince Zeran's shadow. As the female being vanished, Prince Zeran turned and sat on his chair.
He tapped the table repeatedly with his right index finger, and then he muttered, "Divine Riggs, you have always been an enigma. What are you trying to do and what are your plans?"
