Single Wish: Rise Of The Omniscient Paragon

Chapter 578 577: Predicting The Bell Chime

578  577: Predicting The Bell Chime

Three days went by after Corey, Divine, and Melissa met with Prince Zeran.

These three days were a period of peace for the trio. Nothing noteworthy happened, and the trio waited for Prince Zeran to contact them regarding the date of the raid against the Throne.

Knowing that to increase their chances of survival, they needed to be immensely prepared, Corey, Divine, and Melissa made the preparations they needed.

Aside from this, Divine decided to tell Corey and Melissa what he knew about the twelve Chosens, including Prince Zeran. He told them what he knew about their personalities, their abilities, and the power of the organizations backing them.

Although what he told them was not detailed, it helped Corey and Melissa to know who to be wary of, and who they could trust to a certain degree regarding certain matters.

The third day came and went, and in the early hours of the fourth day in Stormcliff Rest, Corey sat cross-legged on the bed in his room.

Countless visible runes filled the room and moved in a seemingly chaotic but harmonious manner. The runes were of different shapes, strokes, sizes, and colours, and in the eyes of anybody that had no understanding of runes, their minds would be overwhelmed due to the complexity, chaotic movement, and immense number of runes in the room.

Corey's pure white eyes reflected the runes around him, and his hands moved as he sometimes made some of the runes clash with one another which would either result in the runes shattering like glass. Smaller and different runes would form from the shattered runes, and these smaller runes would join the chaotic movement of the runes in the room.

Sometimes, the runes that clashed would join together, forming a larger and completely different rune in the room.

As the minutes went by, Corey kept on observing the changes and movement of the runes, and then a sudden knock resounded in the room.

The immense focus and calculations that could be seen in Corey's eyes were disturbed, and Corey frowned in displeasure.

Although with his Stars of Consciousness, the countless simulations and thoughts he had in his mind would not be stopped, it was completely different when his main consciousness was the one performing these actions.

Corey's furrowed brows eased slightly when he realized that it was the brainwashed messenger of Prince Zeran that was in front of his door.

'I was already planning on leaving for the Stairs or Ascension in two days if we didn't receive a message from the Prince.'

Corey looked around, and then he stood. As he stood, the runes around slowly dissipated, and in less than three seconds, they were no more.

Corey stood in front of the door, and his pure white eyes became violet-blue. Corey looked around the room once again to make sure that he didn't miss anything in the room. As he did this, another knock resounded in his room, and Corey opened the door.

"A pleasure seeing you once again, Mr. Smile Reaper."

Brandon's voice drifted into his ears, and Corey greeted back as his eyes involuntary landed on the man's shining bald head.

'Did he oil it?' Corey wondered, however, his expression portrayed not a single bit of his thoughts.

"Right back at you, Mr. Brandon."

Brandon smiled, and then he offered an envelope to Corey.

'An envelope again? What's with the prince and envelopes?'

Corey raised his brows as he took the envelope from the messenger, however, his eyes flashed for a fraction of a second before his fingers touched the envelope.

"My Lord said you and your companions should make your way to the Mirstone Suite after the bell rings tomorrow. There-"

"When the bell rings?"

Corey interrupted Brandon, however, Brandon showed no sign of displeasure. He nodded, "Yes, my Lord said I should tell you to be on your way to the Mirstone Suite after the bell chimes tomorrow."

'He can predict when the bell would ring in the Shattered Dimension? But I thought it was completely random and could not be predicted?'

Corey frowned, and although he had a lot on his mind, he didn't dwell too much on it.

"There are three cards in the envelope, and each card is assigned to you and your companions. You'll know which one is yours when you see the cards."

After saying this, Brandon bowed slightly, "Good luck, Mr. Smile Reaper. I pray for victory and life as you assist the Lord in the great battle. Goodbye."

Corey merely smiled in response to Brandon's words, and then he watched Brandon leave.

"Prince Zeran sure is frightening. His messenger is now even praying for victory. Sort of feel pity for him… Sort of."

After saying this, Corey walked to Melissa and Divine's rooms, and after relaying the message of the messenger and showing them the cards, they all agreed to wait and see if the bell would ring the following day.

They discussed some things like what could happen in the battle, how prepared they were, and the status of their other companions like Fatty Black Bonez, Triple X, and Rosa.

Corey already told them about what happened to Selena, and although Divine and Melissa were surprised by the death of Selena and by the fact that Corey was completely unbothered by her death, they didn't think too much of it.

Besides, according to the Clown, anybody who died was going to revive after the time limit of the Shattered Dimension, which is four months, was over.

Since Selene was not truly dead, there was no reason to be bothered about the death of Selene,

Time went by, and another day arrived. Just as Prince Zeran said, a bell chime echoed throughout the Shattered Dimension, and although Corey, Divine, and Melissa were surprised by this, they went to the Mirstone Suite just like Prince Zeran said they should.
