Shut Up Dragon! I Don't Want To Have Children With You Anymore

Chapter 10: Chapter 10: Daddy, Let's Play

[T/N: Sorry for this long delay. From now on, I won't stop. 🫡]

After a few twists and turns through the corridors, Leon arrived at the garden, where he saw Luna playing with a few dragon maids.

But from the look on her face, the little dragon girl didn't seem very enthusiastic.

"Princess, remember, you have to keep your eyes covered. No peeking."

"Princess, I'm over here. Come catch me~"

"Be careful, Your Highness, don't trip!"

The maids were playing hide-and-seek with her, but after missing a few catches, Luna yanked off her blindfold in frustration, stomping her tiny foot. "This isn't fun!. I don't want to play anymore. I want to play with Mommy and Daddy."

An older maid walked over, crouched down to Luna's eye level, and spoke gently, "Your Highness, the Queen is very busy. She has to handle all the matters of the clan and can't always play with you. You should be a good girl and not make her worry."

Luna pouted, looking upset, but eventually nodded. "I understand."

She bent down, picked up the blindfold, and said, "Let's keep playing, Anna."

"Such a good girl," Anna praised as she stood up and placed the blindfold back on Luna.

The game of hide-and-seek resumed.

Once again, Luna missed several catches, relying only on the sounds of shuffling feet to guess the maids' positions.

But at some point, the sounds stopped.

Luna didn't notice and assumed it was part of the game, continuing to grope around with her eyes covered.

"Anna? Where are you? Why aren't you saying anything?"

"Princess—"

Before Anna could finish, Luna reached out and caught someone.

Excited, she tore off the blindfold. "Got you! You're—Daddy? Daddy, when did you come down...?"

Leon crouched down and gently pinched Luna's chubby cheeks. "Of course, I came to play with you."

Luna's big eyes sparkled with delight. "Really, Daddy?"

Leon smiled and nodded. "Yes, really."

"Yay~ Daddy's playing with me~"

Luna cheered as she began spinning around Leon in circles, her small tail wagging with excitement. As her tail swished past his legs, Leon's thoughts wandered back to the hallway.

Why had the Luna in the corridor seemed so different from the cheerful girl in front of him? Just a few minutes ago, she had looked so upset, and now she was filled with joy.

"Luna, were you just in the hallway?" Leon asked.

Luna stopped spinning, her face serious as she replied, "Nope, I've been playing in the garden the whole time."

"Oh, I see..."

"Why, Daddy? Did something happen?"

"No, it's nothing," Leon brushed it off, deciding it must've been his imagination.

After all, he had only recently woken up from being a vegetable for two years, and Rossweise had wrung him out like a rag in the last few days. It wouldn't be surprising if his vision was playing tricks on him.

The fact that he could even walk around after all that was a miracle.

"By the way, Luna, what do you want to play next? Still want to play hide-and-seek?"

Luna pouted, thinking for a moment, then shook her head. "No, I'm not good at it. I keep losing. How about... we play Dragon Knight instead?"

Leon blinked. "Dragon Knight... How do you play that?"

A minute later.

Luna was sitting on Leon's shoulders, her tail gently resting against his back.

Leon kept his hands around her small ankles to make sure she didn't fall.

Luna had one hand gripping Leon's hair and the other holding a stick, which she pretended was an enchanted sword.

"Charge, Daddy! Let's go!"

"Alright, alright, here we go!"

Leon now understood.

The game wasn't about being a knight who rides a dragon.

It was about being a knight ridden by a dragon.

Well... if it made his daughter happy, he could put up with it.

He couldn't exactly expect Rossweise, that sour-faced dragon queen, to play these kinds of games with Luna, could he?

"Daddy, Daddy! Let's go to Anna. She's pretending to be a human guard. If we defeat her, we can reclaim our lands."

Leon nearly threw his back out at that.

'Oh, sweet daughter, do you realize who you're riding on right now?'

'You're riding the (former) greatest Dragon Slayer of the human race, your father.'

'Out of all the roles Anna could have taken, why dows she have to play a human? Couldn't she have been a beastfolk, an elf, or a werewolf?'

Leon grumbled inwardly, cursing the dragon clan's education system. This was all Rossweise's fault.

But since he had promised to play with Luna, Leon had to follow through.

He picked up the pace and jogged over to the maids.

The maids were more than cooperative, putting on a good show.

As soon as Luna swung her "enchanted sword," they would fall dramatically to the ground.

Some even added extra flair to their performances, saying things like:

"Oh no~ The mighty dragon princess defeated me in one strike~"

Or,

"Is this the end for the humans? Bested by the noble and powerful dragon princess? It's unbearable! Unbearable!"

Leon: 'Unbearable, my foot.'

Even though Leon had a million sarcastic remarks in his head, he swallowed them down.

Patience. He needed to play his role as a good father, get Rossweise to lower her guard, and then make his escape when the time was right.

After playing the "Dragon Knight" game for about an hour, Leon's body was close to giving out.

Actually, it wasn't just close to giving out—he was completely spent.

His recently awakened body hadn't fully recovered yet, and even a little bit of activity left him light-headed and dizzy.

He squatted down, and Luna gracefully hopped off his shoulders, looking concerned. "Daddy, are you tired?"

"Yeah, a little—"

"No, Daddy's not tired."

A voice came from the direction of the temple.

Leon and Luna turned to see Rossweise standing on the balcony, watching them leisurely.

"Luna, Daddy isn't tired at all. He's full of energy. You can keep playing with him for as long as you like," Rossweise said casually.

"Really? That's great! I thought Daddy was tired."

Luna looked back at Leon excitedly. "Let's keep playing, Daddy!"

"..."

Leon stood up, glaring at Rossweise.

For once, Rossweise smiled back at him, but it was the kind of smile a fox might wear after catching its prey.

"ROSSWEISE!" Leon shouted, his voice filled with frustration, like a warrior preparing for his final battle.

"What is it?"

"You're so..."

Leon gritted his teeth, mentally running through every insult he could think of, but with Luna beside him, he could only force out one word:

"Cute."

Cute—an insult to dragons, according to Silver Dragon Queen Rossweise.

That evening, Leon dragged his exhausted body back to his room.

He was so tired he didn't even have the strength to change out of his shoes. As soon as he got inside, he collapsed face-first onto the bed.

A few moments later, the sound of the door unlocking echoed through the room, followed by the slow, deliberate clicks of high heels against the floor.

Leon knew it was Rossweise, but he didn't bother lifting his head to look at her.

Today, he had finally seen the full extent of her twisted nature—stubborn, extreme, and entirely manipulative.

It was one thing to leave him in charge of watching Luna, but to make him play with her all day long, knowing full well his body was still recovering?

'Give me a break, lady.'

Two days ago, I was still a bedridden coma patient, and now you're making me run around all day with a dragon kid who has the energy of a puppy on steroids.

'Do you actually want me dead, or what?'

Leon grumbled to himself as Rossweise approached the bed.

"Are you dead yet?" the queen asked coldly.

Leon didn't respond, keeping his eyes closed.

"I asked if you're dead," she repeated, kicking him lightly in the leg.

Leon kicked his leg in response, signaling that he was still alive.

"Good. Your survival skills are better than I expected."

"You're hilarious, Your Majesty," Leon muttered sarcastically.

Rossweise didn't reply. Instead, she bent down and placed a sleeping Luna beside Leon on the pillow.

The scent of fresh milk drifted from the little dragon girl, and Leon opened his eyes to find her delicate face just inches from his nose.

Luna was fast asleep, her tiny pink fists gently curled. Though her expression showed a bit of fatigue, a soft smile tugged at her lips.

"She hasn't been this happy in a long time," Rossweise said, sitting on the edge of the bed with her back to Leon and Luna.

The moonlight from the window spilled across the bed, bathing the room in a soft glow.

The silence of the night was only broken by Luna's steady breathing.

Lying there, Leon's gaze shifted from the sleeping dragon girl to Rossweise's back.
