Chapter 2: The Prestigious Class
First day at school. This is a new experience for me. One tiny problem... I can't really communicate.
Walking around the ceremonial hall, waiting for the entrance ceremony, people tried to approach me. Everyone seem chatty and social as if they had no worries in the world, but I knew better.
Each one of them had at least one Regret Spirit around them, each one follows and haunts them individually.
Suddenly, a loud arrogant voice resounded from a group I passed by. "You might not believe it- "
He was a tall and quite pleasant to the eye. He had brown short hair and looked more of a body builder with humble physique rather than a teenager who just took his first nightmare.
Instinctively, I overheard their conversation.
"Apparently, we got some famous students in this semester. Apparently, Valor enrolled some of their new direct descenders and they really seem to catch all the attention."
Valor... sounds like some big shots are joining our semester. Sounds like they hold a high regard to most students if they catch the attention of most of the room.
Looking around, I noticed a big commotion at the other side of the room.
"Look there, they are coming in!"
Indeed, there were people who took on all the attention of the hall. Two figures just appeared, with black hair and red eyes. They did not appear to hold anything special but something about them feels ominous.
'Their eyes kind of resembling mine, but my hair is dyed so maybe it's just a coincidence after all.'
with all the commotion in the room I could make out some information without having to get close. Apparently, the twin of Valor are cousins.
Their relation is also further away from the king of Valor than you'd expect, yet they inherited the same characteristics as the children of war.
Their names are Gerard and Elaine of Valor. They both seems cold-blooded, distant and ruthless. Despite being sleepers, they seem like they could kill anyone here in a split second. True nobles.

After a while, the commotion settled down.
The place looks massive with numerus student groups divided by prestigious class, families and friend groups.
I'm sitting in a corner of a bleacher in the gymnasium hall waiting for the entrance ceremony to begin.
There is half a year until the Winter Solstice will arrive and start our next step for the path of ascension and I don't see myself standing side by side with any group here.
'My appearance seems quite unusual, though. So maybe I am a foreigner.'
Suddenly, something caught my attention. Two students who arrived just now at the room took a sit not so far from me. One of the students is a male.
His figure was skinny and pale, his eyes look numb as if he did not sleep well for a while now, and his mind seemed dazed. One might think he was hypnotized by the other student.
A petite girl with long smooth blond hair. She looked... distant, as if she did not belong among the lively crowd. An outcast.
Her eyes were gentle, although, half of her face was covered by the strings of her hair. Her skin was smooth and flawless as if she was a daughter of a noble or a fancy French doll. her face seems so innocent, as if she held a pure heart with no-... any intention behind it.
She seems as if she holds no reason to be here to begin with.
Strangely enough, their Regret Spirits were odd. As if they were incomplete.
The Spirits were blurred more than usual, and no remarkable feature could assemble their own. In addition, both the spirits looked identical. As if they belong to the same person. Nevertheless, their spirits were the heaviest I've seen so far. Their color was as dark as you could imagine.
Aside from their Spirits the two of them held opposite demeanors but their appearances almost resemble those of siblings.
One had a very direct and straight-forward intention. The other was an enigma. No one can go through her head
"If you're going to follow me could at least stay in a distance?"
The girl told the boy nonchalantly. She held no ill intention but definitely was disturb by how shameless the guy was.
"I'm sorry. You just reminded me of someone..."
Even after apologizing the boy did not back away. He just keeps on sitting by her side.
He sounds very awkward and stressed but for some reason he does not fix his mistake.
After a few moments, a group of students, probably of the high class, approached the girl.
The leader of their group was called Kadey.
His look exceeded the average sleeper with auburn hair and matching eyes. His clothes, with taints of brighter colors across the suit, strangely matched, too. as if the entire appearance came in a single set. The entire outfit looked fancy yet humble. He had, most likely, some small fortune to back up his selfish and arrogant demeanor.
"Greetings, miss. My name is Kadey from the Ember Seraph clan.
"I have come to recruit you to be my humble partner!"
So, the gentleman was a "Legacy" from what I understand.
The quiet girl silently watched as the young legacy offered her a hand. Then, she raised from her seat.
Right then, the skinny boy quickly raised and stood right between the girl and the legacy.
The legacy was taken aback by the skinny boy's action. Although the boy in-front of him looked underweight he still dares to step between him and the girl. "I'm sorry, and you are..."
The girl simply watched the scene unfolds as if enjoying the show. "Sorry, but she's already in a team."
Kadey appeared annoyed by his interruption but still tried to keep on a civil manner. And so, he responded with a smug smile on his face. "Oh, so what do you say we settle this between us, with a duel."
The boy agreed and they both walked to an empty space in the hall. Getting themselves a ground to start their fight. Meanwhile, the girl and I stayed on the bleacher watching from a far.

In a ring formed by the crowd surrounding them, the boy and Kadey stand against each-other. Each one look determined to embarrass the other.
Kadey took the stance of a martial artist, clearly, he was trained by professionals as a routine of a Legacy.
"Last time to back off, rat-boy."
A silence fell on the battlefield.
The first to make a move is Kadey, charging towards the boy, not expecting much from the fragile-looking boy in-front of him. With a sharp high kick, he aimed for the upper body of boy. His form was flawless, and his physique was even more impressive.
However, the boy, stiff as ever and with tired eyes dodged the perfect kick with ease by leaning back. Kadey was not surprised, his kick did not land on the ground but seemed like he stepped on an invisible platform, making him shift in the air and swing another kick in the opposite direction.
The boy, caught off-guard, immediately blocked the side of his head right before the kick connected, but Kadey was not done yet.
As if ignoring the laws of physics, Kadey rolled and shifted mid air and managing to land a third attack on the boy's face, knocking him back to the floor.
'His Aspect, I presume.' The boy guessed to himself.
Raising up, the boy took a stance with his hands raised before Kadey charged once again.
This time, Kadey threw a punch aiming for the upper chest of the boy. However, his punch was caught, and the boy threw a punch of his own towards Kadey's face.
The boy's punch landed, but not on the Kadey, but an invisible wall formed in front of him. With quick thinking, the boy crouched and swinged a kick and dropped Kadey on his back.
Kadey jumped on his feet with ease, anger burning in his eyes with simply one desire in mind. Seeing his opponent on the ground. He charged once again but this time he jumped on the same air platforms he had use before and gained high ground. Reaching the point above the boy, he jumped down with faint white sparks forming below his arm. It was a knife.
Kadey landed right on top of the boy, the scene unfolds, and suddenly a pool of blood accumulated around the boy and Kadey, who binds him down with his foot on his back and invisible platforms, but to the rest it looks like it's the boy who lost his strength.
As the light of life flickering in the boy's eyes, with no one stopping it for some reason, a strange flame appeared on his eyes.... and his Spirit. The boy entered the Critical State.

Back on the bleacher, the girl's watched everything unfolding down below with not a single sign of confliction or affection. Suddenly, a young man with a long black hair appeared, stood next to her seat. His eyes opened wide with a taint of red spark.
"It's going to end... the boy is the winner of this round." The strange man said, as he watched the Regret Spirit of the boy grows bigger and clearer.
