Chapter 41 - The Villa
Bai Qi’s house was a gift from his grandfather. When the area was planned and built, his grandfather had already reserved a villa to be given to him as a wedding gift. After his grandfather passed away, Bai Qi stopped paying attention to this place, but he vaguely remembered that it came with luxurious furnishings, so there was no need to buy anything additional.
In his previous life, he had only visited once after the renovations were completed, and even though it was a fleeting glance, Bai Qi knew exactly where his house was and naturally didn’t get lost. He drove directly to the villa’s entrance.
Earlier, Hu Haotian had asked Bai Qi where his house was located, so when he saw that his house was quite far from Bai Qi’s, he generously swapped for a different villa nearby.
After all, everything here was empty, so he could choose to live wherever he liked.
With two powerful individuals settling into the area, the others naturally followed suit and selected another villa that was not too far away.
Thus, the three villas were indeed close together, but this “togetherness” was still quite distant.
There were no further divisions between the villas, and the landscaping of the community was well done, with plants used to conceal areas that needed to be hidden, eliminating the need for iron gates.
Bai Qi parked the car directly in the garage and led Tang Ruo and Tian Hai into the villa from the garage.
Compared to Bai Qi’s nonchalant attitude, Tang Ruo and Tian Hai, these two country bumpkins, were not so composed.
The villa’s decor was far superior to any five-star hotel Tang Ruo had seen in the outside world.
The villa was three stories high, with the basement divided into a storage room, a wine cellar, and a game room.
The first floor, in addition to the garage connected to the outside, had a living room and a kitchen.
The second floor featured two guest rooms, a gym, a terrace, and a sky garden.
The third floor was where the master bedroom was located, taking up an entire floor. It was similar to the second floor of Bai Qi’s villa in H City, with a master bedroom, bathroom, walk-in closet, study, and even a small swimming pool.
This ostentatious villa indeed matched Bai Qi’s ‘low-key’ personality.
So envious of the wealthy!
Tang Ruo felt her titanium alloy eyes had been dazzled.
Tian Hai thought he was hallucinating: “Sister, are we really going to live here in the future?”
Looking at Bai Qi, he was holding an ice knife, cutting the villa’s glass.
Tang Ruo exclaimed in distress, “What are you doing? Is the glass too hard for you?”
Bai Qi made a few cuts on the glass and, seeing it didn’t break, was quite satisfied: “I heard that all the glass here uses top-grade bulletproof materials, and now that I see it, they really aren’t deceiving consumers…”
Tang Ruo clutched her chest, feeling she had taken another step down the road of envy towards the wealthy.
If even a window is made of bulletproof glass, then how much was the price per square meter for this place before?
This was simply too extravagant!
Seeing her lost in her thoughts, Bai Qi chuckled and finally couldn’t hold back, playfully splashing her with water: “After traveling for so many days, aren’t you tired? Go wash up upstairs first, then we’ll eat.”
Only then did Tang Ruo come to her senses. She took out a pile of ingredients from her storage space and even brought out a stove.
Tian Hai: “…”
What’s going on? Isn’t Brother Bai the one with the spatial ability? How did it turn into Sister Tang’s?
Tang Ruo found Tian Hai staring blankly at the chaotic scene in the air amusing and handed him a plate of strawberries, saying, “Ah Hai, you can’t tell anyone this secret, or else we won’t have anything to eat in the future. You might not even see your Sister Tang again.”
Tian Hai didn’t take the strawberries; instead, he raised three fingers and seriously said, “I, Tian Hai, swear that if I reveal Sister Tang Ruo’s powers, I’ll be struck by lightning and won’t…”
Tang Ruo quickly interrupted him, shoving the plate with strawberries into his hands: “Okay, I get it, you don’t need to say anymore.”
Tian Hai looked at the plump red strawberries, reluctant to eat them: “Sister, these strawberries are so good. You eat them; I won’t have any, and I’m not even hungry.”
Tang Ruo then took out a bucket of warm water from her storage space and placed it on the ground: “I have plenty, so you don’t have to be reluctant. You can wash up and then eat; this is for bathing.”
With that, she happily bounced upstairs to take a shower.
“I love bathing; my skin feels so good!
Even in the apocalypse, I have to maintain my beauty!”
It had been over a week since she last showered while on the road with the convoy.
When she reached the third floor, her eyelids began to droop.
The bedroom was too luxurious, and Tang Ruo didn’t dare to look around.
The bathroom was fully equipped with all kinds of tools; she didn’t even need to take out the bathtub from her storage space.
After showering, she found a comfortable outfit to wear and went downstairs to invite Bai Qi to take a shower.
Then, after drying her hair, she headed downstairs to prepare dinner.
When she got downstairs, Tian Hai was already in the kitchen preparing the meal.
Unaware of the magical properties of Tang Ruo’s water, Tian Hai felt quite cramped in the grand and spacious bathroom. He quickly took a battle shower and changed into the outfit he had picked up from the boutique men’s clothing store on Walking Street.
Tang Ruo looked at the strawberries on the dining table, which seemed to be sitting there undisturbed. Amused, she picked one up and popped it into her mouth, then walked around to Tian Hai’s side to see what he was cooking. “What are you making?”
Tian Hai didn’t turn around, carefully slicing the fish into thin pieces with a knife. “I’m making boiled fish for you guys. I can do this.”
He had grown up at his uncle’s house, where his uncle and aunt ran a restaurant in the countryside. Whenever they were busy, he would help out, and through that experience, he learned some cooking skills.
“Hey, that sounds great! I love it,” Tang Ruo said, genuinely excited. It had been a long time since she had eaten anything spicy. During her time in bed sick, all she had was bland porridge. “Why aren’t you eating strawberries? They’re really sweet.”
Tian Hai smiled and said, “Sister, you eat them. I think they’re too expensive.”
Such a straightforward kid.
Tang Ruo picked up a piece and stuffed it into his mouth, laughing, “Your sister is treating you, so don’t be polite. Your brother Bai Qi is rich!”
With his mouth full of strawberries, Tian Hai smiled with squinted eyes.
Sister Tang and Brother Bai were really nice to him.
After the apocalypse, losing his father, he still felt warmth from having a brother and sister.
When Bai Qi came downstairs, he saw this scene.
His fiancée was holding a plate of strawberries and feeding another man. Although that man was still a minor, the sight still felt so awkward and unpleasant.
Hmm, maybe it should be pixelated.
Hmm, pixelate that guy.
Hmm, no need to pixelate; just replace myself with that man.
Having realized this, Bai Qi didn’t hesitate and went over to push Tian Hai aside.
Tian Hai, suddenly shoved aside: “…”
Tang Ruo, suddenly having her view obstructed: “…”
Tian Hai looked at Bai Qi, confused, and asked, “Brother Bai, are you going to cut the fish?”
Bai Qi replied, “What fish?”
Tian Hai pointed to the fish on the cutting board with his knife.
Bai Qi looked at the snow-white fish fillets and waved his hand. “I just came to discuss something with Xiao Ruo. You can keep cooking the fish.”
And so, Tang Ruo was pulled away.
Tian Hai turned back and continued to carefully slice the fish.
