Rebirth Counterattack: I Heard That the Imperial Marshal Has a Crush on Me

Chapter 170

“This is Chunjun,” Chu Muxi said as he walked up to the towering mecha, looking up, feeling incredibly small in comparison.

At some point, the others had retreated, and now only he and Lu Junzhi remained.

Lu Junzhi nodded, “Yes.”

“I always feel like it’s alive, but now it’s just fallen asleep,” Chu Muxi remarked, turning his head to look at Lu Junzhi.

“Want to go up?” Lu Junzhi suddenly asked.

Chu Muxi’s eyes lit up with surprise. “Can I?”

Oh my god, piloting Chunjun even once would be every man’s dream in the empire!

“You can wait until tomorrow,” Lu Junzhi said with a smile.

Chu Muxi leaned in and asked playfully, “Don’t they say that a mecha is like a warrior’s wife? Can you really let someone else touch your wife?”

Lu Junzhi curled his lips. “You want to find out?” he asked, narrowing his eyes dangerously.

Chu Muxi quickly stepped back and shook his head. “No, no.”

Lu Junzhi lowered his voice, “You’ll know tomorrow.”

Chu Muxi immediately felt like he’d dug a hole for himself.

As they left, Chu Muxi glanced back, locking eyes with Chunjun’s cold, quiet gaze. It felt as if Chunjun was watching him from behind.

The doors behind them closed one by one.

Chu Muxi lowered his head and looked at the road ahead. “I heard from Zhou Xu that there’s something wrong with Chunjun.”

Lu Junzhi hummed and reached out to pull him closer. “Watch the road.”

“What’s wrong?” Chu Muxi asked.

“There’s something wrong with the core. During the war with the Alliance, someone tampered with it from behind,” Lu Junzhi explained.

Chu Muxi frowned slightly. “Did they catch the culprit?”

Lu Junzhi had only received Chunjun after the royal soldiers descended upon Caesar Star.

The next day, he had taken Chunjun directly to the battlefield and to the farthest front line.

Chu Muxi remembered that Mr. Barlow once mentioned that Chunjun wasn’t the final version of the mecha he wanted to create.

There was still a critical energy source missing that could make Chunjun more intelligent.

And that energy source was supposed to be located on the resource star.

“That’s why you’ve been searching for Master Luo.”

“Yes, I also want him to upgrade all the mechas in the deep space fleet,” Lu Junzhi said.

Chu Muxi looked up at him and asked seriously, “Do you think I can do it?”

“Huh?” Lu Junzhi was puzzled.

Chu Muxi pinched his fingers together and said, “I mean, can I try piloting? How about giving me a regular mecha to start with?”

He blinked, his eyes full of confidence and anticipation.

Lu Junzhi smiled. “Alright.”

From his tone, it was clear that even if Chu Muxi had asked to play with Chunjun, Lu Junzhi would have agreed without hesitation.

As they walked out, they saw Tern waiting by the elevator. “Boss! Young Master Chu!” he called out happily when he saw them.

“Where are Adjutant Zhou and Christie?” Chu Muxi asked.

“The adjutant said there were still things to handle, so he and the military doctor went up first and asked me to wait here for you and the boss,” Tern said cheerfully.

The elevator doors opened, and the three of them stepped inside. Tern pressed the close button, and the elevator began to ascend.

Chu Muxi looked around. “Hey, how does Chunjun get out?”

Lu Junzhi raised an eyebrow. “It goes straight up.”

“Are you really going to let me pilot Chunjun tomorrow?” Chu Muxi thought for a moment and asked again to be sure.

He didn’t notice Tern’s eyes suddenly widening as he faced away from them. Did he hear it right?
