Pokémon: Worlds Divided

Leon heard the voice coming from outside the restroom and knew that this individual was his new sister. She probably woke up to check on Leon but found that he wasn't present.

"Yes. I'm in here, you're free to come in if you want." Leon smiled slightly.

He could see Leona clearly when she entered. She resembled Leon's female counterpart exactly. Leona was shorter than Leon and had fair skin, black hair, and purple eyes.

While Leona was roughly 5'2 or 5'3, the current Leon was 5'7. Leon surmised that his diet had probably stopped him from growing very much. However, 171 cm was fairly tall for a fourteen year old. 

The same could probably be said about Leona, who cooked all of their meals.

"Are you alright?!" Leona's expression was pale with worry as she ran up to Leon. She quickly inspected his body but was soon surprised.

"Where are all the bruises you endured from those despicable jerks?" Leona looked at Leon with surprise and said.

"I'm not sure, but they were completely healed when I woke up." Leon signaled that this wasn't important, as long as he was well. 

"Oh, thank goodness, I thought you would be mortally wounded from such a beating!" Leona slowly hugged Leon, with tears slowly building in her eyes.

"Haha, I'm stronger than that. Though it really hurt badly when I was getting beat nearly to death back then." Leon only knew that the previous owner was in extreme pain before passing out.

"Those guys are too much, I really can't stand them anymore at this point. One of them even tried to touch my bottom when I was out getting food."

Leona recalled what happened two days ago and was she furious. Leon remembered that those two brothers just turned sixteen and seventeen.

"Don't worry, we'll find a solution to this problem soon. I guarantee that these two won't have any more good days."

Those two brothers had pretty much committed murder but there would have been no justice. Leon would have to find the time to settle those two and their dad.

"You can't, both of them have Pokemon," Leona said with a tinge of fear.

There were still people afraid of Pokemon in this world. This was especially so for people who lived on this secluded island. Leona feared Pokemon slightly, but she knew there was hope in having a Pokemon as a partner.

Unfortunately, she lacked the courage.

"Don't worry, when I act I'll be sure I'm prepared." Leon patted Leona's head and said confidently.

"W-what?" Leona was stunned. When had her brother become so confident to dare speak like this?

He even patted her head!

Leona looked Leon in the eyes, did he perhaps have his brain rewritten from the beating?

"I'm alright. It's just that I understood how weak I was. It is time for us to make drastic changes to our lives. If we don't, we'll end up dying sooner or later, this can't go on forever."

Leon's tone was stern and firm. He had entered this Pokemon World, it was time to do what no one could do in his world, but wished they could.

Become a Pokemon Trainer.

Leona's body shivered, she had never seen her brother act like this but she was happy to hear those words.

"Can we really change our fates?" Leona clenched her fist and asked.

"Of course, but are you willing to become a Pokemon trainer?" Leon knew she was somewhat afraid of Pokemon, but this was the best way to make a living in this world.

Leona was silent for a moment, she seemed hesitant before she slowly nodded.

"I want to get a Pokemon, but it's kinda scary." Leona only heard bad things about Pokemon from a few islanders.

Groups of Pokemon were roaming around the island. This was mainly so for Woodcast Forest—where most of the trouble occurred.

"Don't worry, the Pokemon obtain and tame will be loyal to you. Of course, for some Pokemon—you would need to be worthy enough for them to listen to you."

If you were too weak, your Pokemon would simply ignore you and even attack you in rare cases.

"I don't know, we'll have to see." Leona still wasn't certain as worry could be seen from her expression.

"It's not good to worry all of the time, it isn't good for the skin and nerves." Leon shook his head and continued. "Alright, we can talk about this later. It's still late at night, so Lars should be coming home soon. Let's go back to sleep, even though I feel just fine I need more rest."

Leon felt tired, after all, it was late at night.

"Okay, let's go to sleep. Lars should be home in about twenty minutes or so." Leona smiled and said lightly.

Leon drank a glass of water before he and his sister went back to bed. He wanted to stay up and wait for the system to load up, but Leon was too sleepy.

'I'll just wait until the morning, this body is too tired.' Leon closed his eyes and fell asleep almost immediately.

A bit of time passed and...

[Ding! System Download Complete!]

The time passed until the morning finally arrived, but Leon remained asleep. While asleep, his nose caught the fragrant scent of food.

Leon opened his eyes before slowly sitting up and wiping his eyes. With a yawn, he gazed around the room and saw that there was a couch present.

Leon couldn't see this couch before because it was too dark last night. Now, sunlight was cascading into the room through a window stationed on a high wall.

On the couch was a boy with black hair who was fast asleep. This could be nobody else but his brother Lars. Leon looked to his side and saw that his sister wasn't present.

"She must be making breakfast for us; that's where the scent is coming from." Leon knew this from his memories, this was a common occurrence.

Leon didn't leave the room to check. Instead, he quickly checked his system because it should have been completely downloaded now.

'Perfect. It's complete. Let's check and see what this thing can do." Leon pressed the okay button.

Leon checked his Inventory and saw that there was nothing available. This was the same for the Pokedex Log, but the Quest Log was different.

"I already have a Quest within the Log I have to complete. The first thing I need to do is open this Starter Box."

Leon's eyes landed on the Starter Box, which resembled a black gift box tied with gold ribbon.

Leon clicked the virtual screen before a notification appeared on it.

[Would you like to open the Starter Box? Y/N?]

'Open it.' Leon clicked yes before the screen was bombed with notifications.

The items were immediately placed into his Inventory and were ready for use. Leon was elated and inspected the items from his inventory.

'Twenty Pokéballs, this is amazing! I should be able to sustain myself for a while without needing to go to a Pokémart.' This is what a starter kit was all about.

At the start of the game, players of the games would receive a significant amount of Pokéballs.

It was just as he thought and hoped, Leon could see the information on every Item. Leon checked the items he was unfamiliar with.

[Random TM: This will generate a random TM that the available Pokemon can be taught. Sometimes it might be a move they can learn through leveling up.]

[Starter Pokemon Token]

• The token generates any Pokemon with a base stat of Three-Hundred-Fifty or less.

• The generated Pokemon will be at level Five.

• You may choose its gender, nature, and form.

• The generated Pokemon cannot have the Legendary or Mythical status.

Leon gasped in shock but his shock soon turned into overwhelming joy. This Starter Token was too good.

"If I can get any Pokemon depending on base stats, I may as well use a Pokemon native to the Hoenn region."

Leon hadn't set any goal yet for the future, but he had decided that he wanted to be a Pokemon trainer.

He began to think about the starter Pokemon that would kick things off. Leon wanted it to be a Pokemon from the Hoenn region, that's for sure.

Just as he was contemplating, his sister came through the door.

"Oh, you're awake. Breakfast is ready. Lars brought home some eggs, butter, jelly, and three pounds of meat."

Leona smiled and spoke happily.

"That's good. I'm getting hungry just from smelling the food from here." Leon quickly rose and left the room with Leona.

This time, Lars was really tired, so they didn't wake him. No child should be working this hard at this stage of their life, Leon sighed.

Leon went to the table and saw that there were freshly cut meat slices. There were fresh scrambled eggs, and butter bread that had been sliced through from the middle. Inside laid jelly and butter mix.

"Oh, this is going to be a good breakfast." Leon thanked Leona and quickly dug in.

'I'll summon my starter Pokemon after breakfast. If I recall correctly, the Pokemon on this island are actually quite weak.'

He knew a few Pokemon that inhabited each area and could be seen frequently there. Leon continued to eat his breakfast greedily while thinking to himself.

Leon finally drank his berry juice and finished his breakfast. Leona was going to deal with the dishes and cleaning.

Leon went to the restroom to conduct his plan, but also to use the restroom as well.

"Let's see, who will it be?" Leon was excited to see a Pokemon for the first time.

Author Note: The money will be used in American currency since it's easy to remember and understand for me. The Mc received 300 dollars American. However, Pokedollars are usually done in the Yen currency.
