Pokémon: Reset

Chapter 2: It all started

Ash took one more step, as he blanked out name woke up, as he was still looking out the window, as he still saw his 10 year old face

Ash then spoke shaking his head. "I gess I am fully out of the void".

As then his door Open, as someone came it was his mom, Dahlia, as Dahlia looked back at her son

Dahlia looked at her son as she spoke. "Ash you're awake, I thought you would sleep, come on lest go to professor Oak Lab".

Ash stopper as he thought in his mind. "Shit, shit, shit, if I do this I won't get Pikachu".

As he walked with his mom, the window opened, as there was standing a Pikachu. Ash froze for a moment, his heart racing. The familiar yellow form of Pikachu stood just outside his window, gazing at him with those large, intelligent eyes. It was his Pikachu—the one from before the reset. The one who had traveled with him through countless regions and faced down all manner of challenges. The bond they shared was undeniable, even now.

"Start acting," Ash whispered under his breath, his mind swirling with the weight of Giratina's words. It wasn't just a casual statement—it was a nudge, a reminder that he had a role to play. But why here? Why now?

"Mom, I… I'll be right there," Ash said quickly, his voice shaky but firm. He needed to get to the lab, yes, but there was no way he was leaving without Pikachu.

Dahlia smiled warmly, not noticing the confusion in her son's eyes. "Alright, Ash. Take your time. Don't want to keep Professor Oak waiting, right?" With that, she closed the door softly behind her, leaving Ash alone with his thoughts.

He glanced back at the window. Pikachu was still there, perched on the windowsill, staring at him like a silent guardian. There was something in Pikachu's gaze—something that spoke of trust, and perhaps, of destiny. Ash felt a deep, undeniable urge to step forward, to reach out and reclaim what was his.

Taking a deep breath, he made his decision. He couldn't just follow the same path he had before. Not when there was so much more at stake. Not when there was more to do.

With a quiet sigh, Ash grabbed his jacket and slipped out the door, his heart pounding with anticipation. He could already feel the weight of his first task pressing on him, but one thing was clear: this journey wasn't going to be the same as the last. Not by a long shot.

As Ash walked to the door, Pikachu jumped down from the windowsill and stood in front of him, its tail flickering with excitement. Ash knelt down, extending his hand toward his partner. "Alright, Pikachu… Let's make this count."

Pikachu hopped up into his arms, nuzzling him affectionately. It was clear that this wasn't just a continuation of their old journey—it was the start of something new.

And so, with Pikachu on his shoulder, Ash headed out the door, the weight of Giratina's tasks still fresh in his mind but overshadowed by the thrill of what was to come. The reset had given him a second chance, and this time, he wasn't going to waste it.

As they made their way to Professor Oak's lab, Ash couldn't help but feel the first stirrings of excitement. New challenges. New Pokémon. And maybe—just maybe—he'd finally be able to take things one step at a time, making every moment matter.

"This time," Ash muttered to himself, determination in his voice, "I'm going to be the best. Not just for me, but for everyone who's counting on me."

And with that, he and Pikachu stepped out into the world, ready for whatever lay ahead.

Few minutes later

Dahlia then looked at Ash, as they were walking as she saw Pikachu on his shoulder. "So um Ash, this random Pikachu just came too our house took a liking too you and decided to join you?".

Ash made a nervous laugh as he continue his lie. "Yup, what a coincidence am I right".

Dahlia raised an eyebrow, clearly intrigued but not overly suspicious. She had always known that her son had a unique way with Pokémon, but a Pikachu just showing up like this—especially one so friendly—was a bit of a stretch.

"Well, I'll admit, that's an interesting coincidence," she said with a small smile. "But I suppose it's not so strange. After all, you've always had a way with Pokémon, Ash. Maybe this is just the start of a new adventure for you."

Ash nodded enthusiastically, grateful that his mother was so trusting. "Yeah, you know me. I guess I just attract Pokémon, huh?" He gave a casual chuckle, his heart still racing as he kept his eyes fixed forward, trying to avoid looking at Pikachu too much.

Pikachu, sensing Ash's nervousness, let out a small "Pika!" and gave a little wiggle of its ears, almost as if to reassure him. Ash's heart swelled with affection for his partner, but he quickly regained his composure, focusing on the task at hand.

As they continued walking toward Professor Oak's lab, Dahlia kept glancing over at Ash and the newly arrived Pikachu, still a bit perplexed by the situation but willing to let it slide—for now. She hadn't seen Ash this excited in a while, and if a random Pikachu was what it took to spark his enthusiasm again, she wasn't going to question it too much.

"So, Ash, do you think you're ready for your first Pokémon journey again?" Dahlia asked, her voice soft but warm. "You've been through so much already, but this feels like the start of something fresh, doesn't it?"

Ash's face softened at his mother's words. He had always appreciated her support, even when he was too young to fully understand what it meant. "Yeah, Mom," he said with a grin, though there was a hint of uncertainty in his voice. "I'm ready. This time, I'm gonna make sure I do it right."

Dahlia smiled, her expression proud but knowing. "Just remember, no matter where this journey takes you, I'll always be here, cheering you on."

Ash gave her a thumbs-up, feeling more confident with every step. "Thanks, Mom. I won't let you down."

As they neared the lab, Ash couldn't help but feel the excitement building inside him. This was it—his second chance. The world was wide open, and he had no idea what challenges lay ahead, but one thing was for sure: he was going to make the most of it.

Pikachu chirped happily on his shoulder, as if sensing Ash's renewed determination.

"Alright, Pikachu," Ash whispered, "Let's make this journey something special."

And with that, they reached Professor Oak's lab, ready to begin their adventure.

Oak looked at Pikachu as he spoke. "My, this one semes very powerful, how did you find this one".

Dahlia the spoke as she looker at Oak. "This one Just came too our house through the window".

Oak blinkee as he thought noting about as he went too a machine he tapped as 3 PokeBall came up. "Will with him you will have 2 pokemon from the start so pick your starter".

Ash looker at the PokeBall, as he was going to pick Bulbasaur but he stopped then he looked at PokeBall, he knew before the rest this we Gary Pokemon but this time he was the first too come, Gary has not arrived yet, he then wonder how far does the Butterfly effects go, as then his hand moved ror Squirtle Pokeball as he picked it up

Professor Oak watched Ash carefully, his curious eyes studying the young boy as he made his decision. Oak had expected Ash to go for Bulbasaur, especially given that it was the usual choice for many trainers, but the way Ash paused before selecting Squirtle intrigued him.

"Ah, Squirtle," Oak said with a smile, nodding approvingly. "A strong choice. This little one is known for being quick and resourceful. You'll do well with it."

Dahlia, standing beside Oak, gave a small smile. "It seems like you're going to have quite the team, Ash. A Pikachu and now a Squirtle."

Ash, holding the Squirtle Pokéball, felt a wave of determination wash over him. He wasn't sure how far the butterfly effects of his previous choices had rippled through this timeline, but he knew that this was the start of something important—something different. The adventure he was about to embark on would shape not only his own future but the fate of so many others.

"Thanks, Professor," Ash said, his voice steady despite the whirlwind of thoughts racing through his mind. "I'll take good care of Squirtle."

Professor Oak nodded and then glanced at Pikachu, who was perched comfortably on Ash's shoulder. The electric-type Pokémon had been quiet but observant, seemingly taking in everything around it. Oak raised an eyebrow, his scientific mind whirring with possibilities.

"I must say, Ash," Oak continued, "Pikachu here seems unusually attached to you. It's almost like... it's known you for a long time."

Ash smiled awkwardly, brushing a hand through his hair. "Well, Pikachu and I... we've been through a lot together. He's just a little more... attached than most Pokémon."

The professor's gaze lingered on the two Pokémon, his expression thoughtful. "It's fascinating, really. There's something special about the bond you and Pikachu share. It's not something you see every day."

As Oak turned to finish preparing the rest of Ash's starter kit, Ash couldn't help but feel a sense of fate settling into place. The past, present, and future were colliding in ways he couldn't fully understand, but he trusted that whatever happened, he was on the right path.

With his new Squirtle and Pikachu by his side, Ash felt more ready than ever to tackle the challenges ahead. He was about to experience a journey like no other—one that was not only his but also uniquely shaped by the choices he made.

"Okay, Squirtle," Ash said softly, releasing the Pokémon from its Pokéball. A small blue turtle-like creature appeared in a burst of light, looking up at Ash with big, curious eyes.

"Squirr!" the Squirtle called happily, before puffing out its chest, clearly excited for its new adventure.

Dahlia smiled warmly at the scene, while Professor Oak chuckled softly. "It looks like you've already made a friend, Ash."

Ash grinned, kneeling down to meet Squirtle's gaze. "Alright, buddy. Let's make sure we make this journey count."

The door then swings opned, as a walked was a young Gary, as he had his usak argent smirk on his face as he walked as he looked at Ash.

Gary blinked as he spoke. "No way, sleepy ash woke up in time, anyway Gramp's I here for my starter".

Oak sighed as he looker at his grandson. "Welcome Gary, so pick your starter".

Gary then went too chose his starter, as he blinked looking at the missing PokeBall. "Um Gramp's.... Where is the PokeBall for Squirtle"

Professor Oak blinked, caught off guard by Gary's question. He turned to look at Ash, who was standing awkwardly, and then back at the empty spot where Squirtle's PokéBall had just been.

"Hmm..." Oak muttered. "It seems like... Squirtle was taken already." He looked at Ash, who shifted uncomfortably. "Ash has already chosen Squirtle."

Gary's usual confident smirk faltered for a moment as he processed the information. His eyes narrowed, a flicker of irritation flashing across his face. He then turned to Professor Oak, arms crossed. "Really? So, sleepy Ash woke up just in time to steal the starter I wanted?"

Oak, sensing the tension rising, quickly spoke up. "Yes, it seems so. You still have a choice between Bulbasaur and Charmander."

Gary's smirk returned, though it was more calculating now. "Bulbasaur's the obvious choice, then," he said with a nod, eyeing Ash for a brief moment. "I'll take the one with the type advantage."

Oak handed him the Bulbasaur PokéBall with a knowing smile. "Very well, Gary. You're all set."

Gary took the PokéBall, his expression proud. "I'm going to be the best, Ash. You'd better get ready."

Ash, still holding Squirtle's PokéBall, glared at Gary for a moment, a sense of rivalry already building between them. "We'll see, Gary. I'll make sure this time's different."

With that, the two boys were each armed with their starters: Gary with Bulbasaur and Ash with Squirtle. The competition was already heating up, setting the stage for their ongoing rivalry. As for Pikachu, perched contentedly on Ash's shoulder, it seemed that the true adventure was just beginning.

Gary's challenge echoed through the lab, his usual cocky attitude flaring. "Let's have a battle, Ash. You can't run away from this one."

Ash, still trying to get his bearings in this new reality, narrowed his eyes and smirked. He could already feel the adrenaline kicking in. The thought of facing Gary, right at the start of their journey, wasn't a bad thing. In fact, it was probably exactly what he needed to test his skills, even if things were a bit… different this time.

In his mind, though, he couldn't help but think, Arceus have mercy on his soul because I will be humbling him in 600 ways.

"Alright, Gary," Ash said, standing tall. "I accept. But don't expect me to go easy on you."

Gary's grin widened, sensing the challenge. "Good. I wouldn't have it any other way."

---

The two stepped into the small clearing just outside the lab, ready to begin their battle. Oak watched from the sidelines, his hands clasped behind his back, clearly curious to see how the young trainers would fare.

"Alright, let's get this started," Oak said, looking between the two. "First battle, no holds barred!"

Gary wasted no time. "Bulbasaur, I choose you!" he called out, tossing the PokéBall into the air. The grass-type Pokémon appeared in a flash of light, its bulb on its back glowing faintly.

Ash, despite the weight of the situation, was already smiling. This is it, he thought, feeling the bond between him and his starter Pokémon. "Squirtle, let's go!"

The Water-type Pokémon emerged from the PokéBall, its blue shell gleaming under the sun as it gave a small, excited squeak.

Gary instantly ordered the first move. "Bulbasaur, Vine Whip!"

The grass-type Pokémon's vines shot out rapidly, aiming for Squirtle with surprising speed.

Ash gritted his teeth. He wasn't going to make it easy for Gary. "Dodge it, Squirtle, and use Water Gun!"

Squirtle nimbly avoided the incoming vines, ducking and rolling to the side, before blasting out a stream of water directly at Bulbasaur.

Gary's face twitched, but he quickly gave a counter-order. "Bulbasaur, use Tackle!"

Bulbasaur charged forward, its small body darting toward Squirtle with surprising force.

Ash was already thinking ahead. "Squirtle, use Withdraw!"

In a split second, Squirtle retracted into its shell just in time to take the impact of the Tackle, rolling backward but managing to stay in the fight.

Ash looker at Gary as he spoke in his mind. "This battle, is slow".

After so many Battle in his life, after seeing so many battle's as his life, and before the reset and then everything and his knowledge of 8 year, all this was slow, which was perfect for him

Ash lookee at Squirtle. "Squirtle, Dodge use Tail Winde, then Rapid Spin and Then Water Gun".

Ash's words came out in a blur, a mixture of strategy and instinct honed over countless battles. Gary paused, confused for a moment. "Wait, what did you say?"

But before he could process, Squirtle had already acted.

"Squirtle, dodge!" Ash's command was clear despite its speed, and Squirtle reacted instantly. The Water-type Pokémon swerved to the side with a quick spin, evading Bulbasaur's next Vine Whip attack.

"Now, Tail Wind!" Ash barked out, the command like a shot.

A gust of wind swirled around Squirtle, giving it an extra burst of speed and agility.

"Rapid Spin, now!" Ash continued, his voice quick but steady.

Squirtle curled into a tight ball, spinning with impressive force, sending out a wave of energy that struck Bulbasaur before it could respond.

"Now, Water Gun!" Ash finished, as Squirtle aimed and blasted a powerful jet of water directly at the stunned Bulbasaur.

Gary's eyes widened. He hadn't even seen half of that coming. His Bulbasaur staggered from the attack, but it was still standing. He quickly regained his composure and called out, "Bulbasaur, Vine Whip! Don't give up!"

Ash, however, had already planned for that. "Squirtle, Dodge again, then use Water Gun!"

Squirtle dodged the incoming attack with a roll and quickly fired another Water Gun. This time, the blast was more concentrated, and it hit Bulbasaur directly in the face, sending it skidding backward.

Gary clenched his fist. This is different...

Ash could feel the difference in the air as the battle progressed. It wasn't just the knowledge from his previous battles; it was the flow of everything, the rhythm of the fight. Time slowed down in his mind, every movement, every second playing out like a well-rehearsed dance. He'd fought too many battles not to feel this way.

He grinned. This was his pace, the perfect timing.

Squirtle had already prepared for the next move before Gary could even react.

"Squirtle, use Aqua Jet!" Ash commanded, and with that, Squirtle charged forward like a missile, encased in a sphere of water, aiming straight for Bulbasaur.

Gary's eyes widened in realization. "No, Bulbasaur, dodge it!"

But it was too late. Squirtle struck, the force of the Aqua Jet sending Bulbasaur flying back, unconscious from the sheer power of the attack.

Ash breathed in slowly, watching his starter Pokémon stand tall as the battle ended.

"Squirtle, you did great," Ash praised, giving his Pokémon a thumbs-up.

Gary stood there for a moment, his usual cocky expression replaced with something rare—a mix of surprise and begrudging respect.

"Alright, alright," Gary muttered, scratching his head. "Guess I underestimated you, Ash."

Ash grinned, feeling the adrenaline of his first battle in this new timeline. "It's just the beginning, Gary. The real challenge starts now."

Oak narrows his eyes as he looked at Dahlia. "Something has changed".

Dahlia raised an eyebrow, sensing Oak's shift in demeanor. "What do you mean, Professor?" she asked, crossing her arms with a curious but cautious expression.

Oak didn't answer immediately. Instead, his sharp eyes remained focused on Ash, who was standing confidently beside his Squirtle. The young trainer was grinning, but there was something in his demeanor that was different—something Oak couldn't quite place.

"I've been around Ash long enough to know when something feels off," Oak said slowly. "He's grown… faster than expected. That battle—his movements, his commands… It was almost as if he's experienced more than what we know." Oak turned to Dahlia. "Ash is different now. He's not the same kid I met years ago."

Dahlia frowned slightly, her gaze flickering over to Ash. "It's this a good think professor ?"

Oak didn't respond immediately, his mind racing with possibilities. He had always believed that Ash had an extraordinary potential, but this new level of competence was more than just raw talent—it was the kind of precision and strategy that could only come from experience. The way Ash gave his commands, the flow of the battle, and even the unspoken bond between him and his Pokémon… It was all too polished, too deliberate. "I don't know Dahlia," Oak admitted, "But something is definitely different about him. I'll have to keep a closer eye on him."

Dahlia nodded, her concern deepening. "You think he might be hiding something?"

"I don't know. But I have a feeling that the path he's about to walk is more complicated than either of us could imagine," Oak said, still studying Ash with a serious expression.

Meanwhile, Ash, completely oblivious to the professor's quiet analysis, was still reveling in his first real victory in this timeline. Squirtle was at his side, happy and ready for whatever came next. He glanced over at Pikachu, who was sitting on his shoulder, and saw the familiar spark in its eyes—almost as if Pikachu knew exactly what was going to happen next.

Ash's journey was just beginning, but Oak and Dahlia weren't the only ones who had noticed the changes. The world around Ash, both familiar and strange, was shifting. The butterfly effects of the reset were beginning to ripple through every part of his life, and it was only a matter of time before those changes started revealing themselves more clearly.
