Pokémon: Reset

Chapter 3: Pokédex

Oak looked at the two boys as he spoke. "Ok, that is enough now here is your Pokéball and Pokédex".

Oak handed the two boys the Pokèdex as then Ash spoke something that shocked Oak. "Professor can you remove the parental lock, I don't need it".

Oak was shocked as he spoke too Ash. "How do you".

Ash looked as he spoke. "I saw some reports and even some reviews in Pokédex".

Oak went silent, Ash wasn't lying does Review and Report were real, he just didn't say he saw them in the future, just he did, which Oak believed him, aftee all the league was pushing for him to remove the parental lock system

Oak stared at Ash for a moment, trying to process what he just heard. It was true, the League had been pushing for improvements to the Pokédex, including the removal of certain restrictions, but the request was still unusual coming from a ten-year-old. However, seeing the confidence in Ash's demeanor, Oak couldn't help but wonder if the boy had a unique perspective.

After a brief pause, Oak smiled, though it was a little more guarded than usual. "I see... Well, if you're sure about it, I can grant that request." Oak tapped a few buttons on the Pokédex, his fingers moving quickly as he removed the parental lock system. The Pokédex beeped, signaling the change. "There you go. Just... be careful with the information you're accessing, alright?"

Ash nodded eagerly, feeling a wave of relief wash over him. "Thanks, Professor."

Gary, watching the exchange closely, raised an eyebrow. "You really think you're ready for all the info in that thing, Ash? You sure you're not just going to mess things up?" His tone was challenging, and though it sounded like a taunt, there was a small trace of curiosity in his voice.

Ash didn't falter. He already knew what was coming. "Don't worry, Gary. I'll figure it out. Plus, I have the best teacher by my side," Ash said, glancing at Pikachu, who was still perched confidently on his shoulder.

Oak chuckled, looking at both of them. "Well, I'll leave you two to figure out your paths. Remember, the road to becoming a Pokémon Master isn't a race, but a journey. Don't forget to stop and enjoy it."

As Oak turned to walk back to his lab, Ash felt the weight of the Pokédex in his hand. With the parental lock removed, he now had access to more than just basic information. His journey had only just begun, but with his knowledge and the tools at his disposal, Ash felt a renewed sense of purpose. Now, it was time to prove that he could truly stand out in this new timeline.

Gary, sensing Ash's quiet determination, smirked but kept his thoughts to himself. He knew this wouldn't be an ordinary rivalry.

"Alright, let's get moving, Pikachu," Ash said, snapping back to focus. "We've got a lot of work ahead of us."

The two teens came out as they saw a whole group of people from there town Infront of Oak lab, ready to say goodbye to the trainer, as then a 3rd trainee pushed through the lab, as he spoke.

He had red hair as he looked at Oak. "I am Silver, I am here too pick up my starter".

Oak looked at Silver and helped in the lab, as Ash felt like that he was gonna meet Silver in the future as he looked at all the people, as Gary went too his Car with his cheerleader squad as they drives away, as Dahlia finally gave Ash the bag she packed for him.

As then a 30 Minutes later, Ash was out side he had a note book out as he looked at Pikachu. "So we have few goals go to Dragonite Island to get Dragonite back, if he is born yeat, two go to Professor Cerise and re capture my Gengar, also probably convince Goh to join as well, and 3 Enjoy this reset while check marking all my The Goal Giratina gave me".

Ash then heard a blast of water, as he saw Squirtle had token out a Nidoran Female.

Ash looked at Squirtle, who stood proudly over the fainted Nidoran♀, water still dripping from his small yet determined form. Pikachu nodded in approval, sparks crackling slightly from his cheeks.

Ash chuckled as he flipped to a new page in his notebook, writing down his first capture opportunity. "Alright, let's not waste any time." He pulled out an empty Pokéball and threw it toward the Nidoran♀. The ball shook a few times before coming to a stop with a satisfying ding!

"Nice job, Squirtle!" Ash grinned, picking up the Pokéball and attaching it to his belt. "That's one down. Now, let's keep moving."

Pikachu looked at him, tilting his head slightly. "Pika?"

Ash smirked. "I know, I know. I used to take things slow before, but this time, I know what I'm doing. We're going to get stronger—fast."

Just then, a rustling in the bushes caught his attention. Ash instinctively reached for another Pokéball, but before he could act, a familiar voice called out.

"Hey! Ash!"

Turning around, Ash spotted none other than Leaf, another childhood friend of his. She had a confident smirk on her face as she walked up to him, a Pokéball in hand.

"I saw your battle just now. Not bad," she said. "But what do you say to a real challenge?"

Ash grinned, flipping his cap backward. "You're on!"

Ash Pikachu looked at Leaf Pikachu, as Leaf Pikachu walked up too Leaf as it has face that says.

Pikachu went too Leaf Pikachu as he looked at his younger self as he sighed, as covers his tail with Iron tail hit Leaf Pikachu, as the hit landed it took a few seconds for Lead Pikachu too understand it looked back at lead with a face that says "I am listening to you let's destroy him".

Ash couldn't help but smirk as he watched his Pikachu discipline his past self. Leaf's Pikachu, now properly motivated, turned back toward Ash with newfound determination, sparks crackling from its cheeks.

Leaf grinned. "Well, well, looks like Pikachu's finally listening to me. Alright, buddy, let's show them what we've got!"

Ash adjusted his cap. "Let's see if you can keep up. Squirtle, let's do this!"

Squirtle stepped forward, eyes focused.

Leaf wasted no time. "Pikachu, Quick Attack!"

Pikachu blurred forward, but Ash had already seen it coming. "Squirtle, Withdraw!"

Squirtle tucked into his shell just in time, causing Pikachu's attack to barely nudge him.

Leaf clicked her tongue. "Tch. Alright then, Thunder Shock!"

Ash smirked. "Squirtle, Water Gun at the ground!"

As Pikachu sent out its Thunder Shock, Squirtle shot a burst of water at the ground, launching itself into the air and narrowly avoiding the attack.

Leaf's eyes widened. "No way—!"

Ash grinned. "Now, Rapid Spin!"

Squirtle tucked into its shell and spun midair, coming down fast toward Pikachu.

Leaf shouted, "Pikachu, dodge!"

But it was too late—Squirtle landed a clean hit, sending Pikachu rolling back.

Ash pumped his fist. "Nice one, Squirtle!"

Pikachu got up, shaking off the hit with a determined spark in its eyes.

Leaf smirked. "Not bad, Ash. But we're just getting started!"

Ash smirked right back. "Good. Wouldn't want this battle to be too easy."

Both trainers locked eyes, ready to continue.

Leaf smirked as she adjusted her cap. "Alright, Pikachu, time to turn this around! Use Thunder Wave!"

Ash's eyes widened slightly. Smart move. If that hit, Squirtle would be paralyzed, making dodging much harder.

"Squirtle, use Rapid Spin again to dodge!"

Squirtle tucked into its shell and spun at high speed, skimming just above the ground as Pikachu's Thunder Wave crackled uselessly past.

Leaf clicked her tongue. "Tch. Pikachu, Double Team!"

Several copies of Pikachu appeared in a blur, surrounding Squirtle from all sides.

Ash narrowed his eyes. "Alright, let's clear them out! Squirtle, Water Gun—spin in place!"

Squirtle unleashed a rapid spray of water while continuing to spin, blasting through the clones until only the real Pikachu remained.

Leaf grinned. "Not bad, but you fell for it. Pikachu, Quick Attack!"

Before Squirtle could stop spinning, Pikachu blurred forward and slammed into it, sending Squirtle skidding back.

Ash smirked. "Nice one, but not enough. Squirtle, Withdraw and then Water Gun!"

Squirtle quickly tucked into its shell to minimize the damage, then popped out and fired a pressurized burst of water straight into Pikachu's face, knocking it backward.

Leaf gritted her teeth. "Alright, I admit it—you've gotten better, Ash. But we're not done yet. Pikachu, use Iron Tail!"

Pikachu's tail gleamed silver as it flipped midair, aiming straight for Squirtle.

Ash's mind worked fast. Iron Tail is strong, but it needs momentum. If I stop that…

"Squirtle, counter with Rapid Spin mid-air!"

Squirtle spun upwards just as Pikachu's Iron Tail came down. The two attacks clashed, but Squirtle's momentum gave it the edge, deflecting Pikachu's attack and sending it tumbling to the ground.

Leaf gasped. "Pikachu, get up!"

Ash saw his chance. "Now, finish it! Water Gun!"

Squirtle fired one last powerful blast, hitting Pikachu directly and sending it rolling across the dirt.

Leaf sighed as she saw Pikachu struggle to stand, only for it to collapse with spirals in its eyes.

Oak walked up, nodding in approval. "The battle is over. Ash is the winner."

Ash grinned. "Nice work, Squirtle."

Squirtle puffed out its chest proudly.

Leaf recalled Pikachu with a sigh, but she was smiling. "Well, that was fun. But next time, I'm winning for sure!"

Ash smirked. "We'll see about that."

Oak clapped his hands. "That was quite the battle, you two. But now, I believe it's time for you both to start your journey."

Leaf nodded. "Yeah! I'm heading to Viridian City. Ash, don't fall too far behind, okay?"

She turned and walked off, waving over her shoulder.

Ash watched her go before looking at Pikachu and Squirtle. "Alright, guys. Let's get moving too. We've got a long journey ahead."

With that, Ash stepped forward, ready to face the new adventure that awaited him in this reset world.

Ash then released something. "Um professor Oak, what are you doing here".

Professor Oak Chuckle as he looked away. "Definitely not making sure you two kids didn't get lost to get attack by Pokémon".

Ash and Pikachu has a smile but they were thinking of something else. "Where the hell were you in the original timeline, when I was being chased by a pack of spearow, I almost died".

Ash only thought of that mentality he didn't say a single word, and Professor Oak was nun the wiser.

Oak cleared his throat. "Well, since I'm definitely not following you two, I suppose I'll just happen to walk alongside you for a bit. You never know what dangers lurk on Route 1, after all!"

Ash raised an eyebrow but decided not to question it. Instead, he turned to Pikachu and Squirtle. "Alright, let's keep moving. We want to reach Viridian before nightfall."

As they walked down the path, the grass rustled, and a small Pidgey hopped out. Ash instinctively reached for a Poké Ball but then paused. Wait, should I catch this one?

His mind raced. In his original timeline, he had tried to catch a Pidgey, but it failed miserably, leading to the whole Spearow incident. But this time, I already have two strong Pokémon. I don't need to rush.

Before he could decide, Oak spoke up. "Ah, Pidgey! A fine Flying-type Pokémon. Would you like to try catching it, Ash?"

Ash hesitated, then shook his head. "No, I'll wait for something stronger."

Oak raised an eyebrow but didn't question it. Interesting… he's already thinking ahead. Could this reset have affected his instincts?

Just as they moved forward, a rustling in the bushes made Pikachu's ears perk up. Suddenly, a Rattata jumped out—but something was off. This Rattata wasn't purple; it had a darker, almost black fur.

Ash's eyes widened. An Alolan Rattata?!

Oak gasped. "This… this isn't native to Kanto!"

Ash grinned. "Well, that just makes it more interesting!" He pulled out a Poké Ball. "Squirtle, let's catch it!"

Squirtle nodded and stepped forward as the Alolan Rattata bared its fangs, ready for battle.

Squirtle then looked at Ash as then looked at Pikachu, telling it to go this time, Pikachu didn't want too do, because he knew why, as Pikachu didn't want too delet the Rattata, Pikachu then tapped the Pokéball, as Ash newly Captured Nidoran♀ came out her Pokeball

Ash blinked, looking at Pikachu. "You really didn't want to fight it, huh?"

Pikachu gave him a deadpan look, then pointed at the Alolan Rattata, as if saying, That thing wouldn't survive a hit from me.

Ash chuckled but nodded. "Alright then, Nidoran♀, it's your turn!"

Nidoran♀ looked at the Rattata, puffing up slightly to make herself appear bigger. The Alolan Rattata chattered its teeth and lunged forward with Tackle!

"Quick, dodge and use Poison Sting!" Ash commanded.

Nidoran♀ nimbly hopped to the side and retaliated with a sharp barrage of purple needles. The Rattata screeched, flinching as the poison seeped in.

Oak rubbed his chin. "Ah, clever. Using Poison Sting early increases the chances of poisoning the opponent. Good thinking, Ash."

Ash just smiled. Of course, I knew that.

The Rattata, now slightly weakened, rushed in again, attempting a Bite!

"Counter with Double Kick!"

Nidoran♀ pivoted and delivered two quick kicks to Rattata's face, sending it rolling back. The Alolan Rattata struggled to stand, panting.

"Alright, this is my chance!" Ash pulled out a Poké Ball and threw it.

The ball struck Rattata, sucked it inside, and fell to the ground.

Wiggle.

Wiggle.

Wiggle…

Click!

Ash grinned, pumping his fist. "Yes! I caught an Alolan Rattata!"

Professor Oak smiled. "Fascinating… catching a Pokémon not native to Kanto right at the start of your journey"

Ash smirked, holding up the Poké Ball. One step closer to building an even stronger team than before.

Professor Oak gave Ash and Leaf a nod before turning around. "Anyway, I guess I'll be returning to my lab. Good luck on your journeys!"

Ash and Leaf watched as the professor strolled away, humming to himself.

Leaf sighed. "I still can't believe I'm stuck with this Pikachu…" She glanced at her Pikachu, who still seemed uninterested in her.

Ash chuckled. "Give it time. He just needs to warm up to you."

Leaf scoffed. "Yeah, sure. Let's just get to Viridian City before anything else happens."

Ash nodded, glancing at Pikachu, Squirtle, and his newly caught Nidoran♀. He smirked. This time, I'm going to do things right.

With that, the two trainers continued their journey down Route 1, unaware of the adventures that awaited them.
