Chapter 10: Chapter 10 - Kawayan City, A Trainer's License and 10 Poké Balls
The next morning, Rico and Riolu are at Rico's favorite beach training on the sands. Rico was focusing on Riolu's Tackle and Focus more than Karate Chop.
Later at 7:19 p.m., they went back home to eat breakfast before school starts. And after brushing teeth, Rico dressed up for school and prepared his shoulder bag with Pokémon textbooks, notebooks, and other stationery, before leaving the house with Riolu to school.
Kawayan City one of the largest cities in the region, third to two other larger cities, High Snow City and Kamias City. It was located on the southeastern side of the island of Navarre, one of the three big islands of Philas, and it was located at a sloped area of the Soratas Mountains and at the path of a river that runs to the Strait of Valera. The city was full of medium-sized skyscrapers, condominiums, apartments, multi-purpose buildings, suburban houses, and plazas and parks. In almost every street there are shops, cafes, and restaurants. In the center of the city downtown, there is a big mall and west of it, there is a Pokémon Center, a Pokémon Gym, a Grass-type, where a gardening teacher, named Kolen, was Gym Leader, and a train station called the West Kawayan City Train Station are located. To the east, there are beach hotels and beach villages where the livelihood of their residents is fishing. The coastal areas of the city were divided into Beach Districts, and the number of them was 10. And in one of the city's largest plazas stand a marble statue of the person, the original Gym Leader of Kawayan City, who founded the city a long time ago.
In the outskirts of the city, there are suburban houses, small apartments, and smaller multi-purpose buildings, as well as parks and plazas.
In addition to its large size, the city had an international pier and an international airport that serves both as a local and international hub of the region.
In terms of transport, there are buses, subway trains, taxis, and vans that offer public transport to both tourists and residents alike.
All of these makes the city a lively and amazing place to visit and live.
But first, he went to Professor Campillo's lab to pick up his Trainer's License and Poké Balls. At the said Pokémon lab, Campillo gave him a new Trainer's License and 10 Poké Balls.
Receiving them, Rico thanked the professor politely with gratitude.
"You're welcome, Rico," Campillo responded back to him.
And then, Rico's childhood friend, Juan Nester, bursted into the lab with his first Pokémon, an Oshawott, A Unova starter and Water-type Pokémon, greeting his father and friend. But, he got stunned and surprised at Rico's Riolu, asking Rico, "Is that a Riolu?"
Upon noticing him, Rico greeted him back with a good morning.
"Is that a Riolu?" Juan asked him again.
"Yes, this is my first Pokémon," answered Rico back with positive confidence.
This shocks Juan once more, and Riolu responded in greeting towards Oshawott. In response to that, Juan's Oshawott responded in greeting towards Riolu, and became fast friends.
After that, Rico and Juan said goodbye to Campillo and left the lab with their Pokémon and towards school, which was a few blocks away.
