pokemon Fighting Dreamers

After receiving an invitation to the Galar League, Ash decided to have a journey through the region, now he was in the S.S. Anne which was just a few minutes away from arriving at the Hulbury Seaport, however that wasn't Ash's priority at the moment.

''Oshawott, get back up here!'' Ash was talking to his pokemon who jumped overboard and was swimming alongside the ship with some wild Mantykes.

''Why did I bring him with me again?''

3 hours earlier

''Well then Mr. Ketchum, I will inform the Chairman that you have accepted his invitation.'' A Macro Cosmos Employee was talking to Ash through his watch.

''Please tell him that I'm also very thankful for it.''

''Of course, if I can ask, when do you plan to come to Galar?''

''Well, I'm going right now.''

''Right now? You mean today?'' The man asked suprised.

''Yes, I'll be off to the seaport in a moment, there's a place I need to go first.''

''I see, then we wish you safe travels.''

''Thanks.'' Ash Cut off the call and kept walking until he made it to the Professor's lab. ''Here we are, let's go, Pikachu.'' He entered the Lab with his partner on his shoulder and saw his old traveling companion sitting on a sofa.

''Hey there, Tracey.'' He saluted his friend who was making a drawing.

''Hey Ash, how have you been?'' Tracey replied.

''I'm fine, is the Professor Oak here?''

''Yes, he is back there in the corral.''

''Thanks Tracey.'' Ash got outside and took a look to all his Pokemon some of them were training, others were playing, others were just sleeping. Most of them approached to say hi to their trainer, Ash eventually saw Professor Oak who was looking at a fight between Oshawott and Buizel.

''Good morning, Professor Oak, what are you doing?'' He said standing next to him.

''Ah, hello Ash, I was just watching these two, they've been training together for the past few days.''

''Really? that's good, I'm glad they get along.''

Ash took a look at the fight, Buizel was shooting Water Guns and Oshawott cut them with Razor Shell, Buizel then got closer and started using Ice Punch but Oshawott blocked them with his Scalchop.

''Anyway Ash, what can I do for you?''

''I was just passing by to tell you I'll be traveling to a new region.''

''Really? and what region would that be?''

''Pikachu and I are going to Galar.''

''Galar? Uh, yeah, I've heard some things about that place, do you plan on take any other Pokemon with you?''

Oshawott got distracted by this question, giving Buizel a perfect opening to strike an Ice Punch on his face knocking him out, after doing so, Buizel greeted Ash.

''I Don't think so, you know how I do it, Profesor, a new region, a new start.''

''Is that so? Even though some of your Pokemon haven't seen real action in quite a while.''

''Well, when you put it like that...''

Oshawott then got back up and put himself infront of Ash waving his arms.

''What's wrong, Oshawott?'' The boy kneeled down to talk to his Pokemon.

''If you asked me, I would say that Oshawott heard our conversation and now he wants to go with you.'' The Water Pokemon nodded at this statement.

''Uh, I'm not sure, Oshawott.'' Ash remembered all those times that Oshawott either didn't want to fight, fell in love with an enemy pokemon or came out of his Poke Ball when Ash had already chosen another Pokemon, of course he loved Oshawott as much as he loved all his other Pokemon but not even him could deny the otter can be quite troublesome. ''Why don't you stay here and keep training?''

Oshawott then started crying dramatically, Ash sighed and took in him in his arms.

''Oshawott, this adventure in Galar will be probably our biggest adventure so far, The battles will be a lot harder and we all have to put maximum effort, can I trust you with that?''

The otter wiped his tears and nodded his head with a face that looked full of confidence, hopes and dreams.

''Fine then, Oshawott, you're coming with us to Galar!''

''OSHAWOTT!'' The Pokemon jumped in excitement.

''Well, well, I'll go for his Poke Ball, but tell me Ash, what will you do now?''

''I'm going to the Vermilion port, the S.S. Anne will sail to Galar in an hour.''

''An hour? Are you sure you're gonna make it?''

''Of course, Gary is going to take me there.''

''Gary?'' Ash and the Professor heard a car horn from outside the lab and went to see, finding out it was Gary on his red convertible.

''Get in loser! We're going to Vermilion!'' He called out his life-long rival.

''Well, what a nice timing.'' Said Ash as he got in the passenger seat.

''Oh right, I forgot that you were going to Alola, Grandson.''

''No worries Gramps, I was just coming to say goodbye but I decided to give Ashy-boy a little lift.''

''Goodbye, Professor Oak!'' Ash waved as Gary started to drive.

''Take care you two!''

''I'm glad you decided to go to Alola.''

''I want to see for myself if it is as good as you say, besides a little vacation doesn't hurt anyone.''

''Trust me, you're gonna like it a lot, too bad we won't travel together so I can't show you around.''

''Travel together with you? Look Ashy-boy, I like you, but not that much, I honestly wonder how your companions can stand you.''

Ash got a little annoyed by that, but that was Gary's personality after all so he got used to it, after what happened at the Silver conference he became more humble, but was still a bit arrogant, they kept talking and made it to the Vermillion Port in roughly 30 minutes.

''Well, this is where I leave, the trip to Alola is tomorrow so I'll be staying at the hotel, until next time Ashy-boy.'' He said as Ash got out of the car.

''See ya Gary, thanks again!'' He said as Gary drove away.

''Ok, Oshawott, I'll leave you out of the Poke Ball, but promise me you'll behave yourself.'' The otter put one hand on his chest and raise the other as if he was making a promise.

2 hours later

''Oh...yeah''

''Attention, Ladies and Gentlemen we're about to arrive at the Hulbury seaport.'' The captain's voice was heard through the speakers.

''That's it! Oshawott, return!'' Ash pulled the Poke Ball out of his pocket and then put it on his backpack trying to avoid the Pokemon from getting outside again.

''So this is Galar.'' As soon as the ship docked Ash went down to the harbor. ''What do you think, Pikachu?''

''PIKA!'' The mouse was looking excited at his surroundings.

''Where should we go first?'' The boy was about to leave the harbor until a hand touched his shoulder.

''Uh, excuse me.'' Talking to Ash was a tall, slim woman with pale skin. ''You are Ash Ketchum, right?''

''Yup, that's me!''

''My name is Oleana and I'm Chairman Rose's secretary, He asked me to welcoming you here, unfortunately he is very busy at the moment and couldn't come himself.''

''Well, thanks for the reception."

''No need to thanks, we hope you enjoy your stay in the Galar region, there's also a video call for you at the Pokemon Center, please follow me.''

''A video call? who is it?''

''Hi there, Ash! The name's Nessa and I'm the Gym Leader of Hulbury. Chairman Rose told me you'd be coming so I thought I should at least say hello.''

''Nice to meet you, You'll be my first Gym fight then?''

''I would like to, but aside from a Gym Leader I'm also a model and right now I'm in Kalos collaborating with a famous fashion designer from this region. I guess you remember Valerie.''

''Of course, she was one of the Gym Leaders I fought in kalos.''

''From what Valerie had told me, you're quite the hot stuff, so don't worry about it, You and I will have a battle eventually, cutie.'' She gave him a little wink.

''Cutie?'' Ash got a little embarrassed by the compliment.

Meanwhile somewhere in Hoenn

''Braixen, I sense a disturbance in the force.'' Said a girl in a red hat.

''I'll be back in a week or two so I think it would be better if you go to Turffield, it's to the west and there's a Gym you can challenge there.''

''I see, thanks for the advice Nessa, I'm looking forward to our battle.''

''Me too, see ya and good luck.'' Nessa waved goodbye as she cut the call.

''Turffield, uh?''

''Like Nessa said, Turffield is to the west, you just have to take Route 5 and it will be 4 to 5 days by foot.''

''Alright, Thanks Oleana, we'll be heading there right now.''

''Hang on a second Ash, I have a gift from Chairman Rose, here.'' Oleana gave the boy a small rectangular object.

''A phone?'' He said after watching it more closely.

''It's not just a phone.'' She said releasing a Rotom that started venturing around. ''Now we just have to wait for Rotom to get inside.''

''Get inside?''

The Rotom eventually got inside the phone and caused it to start floating.

''Rotom from now on, make sure to help Ash out.'' Oleana ordered the phone.

''Understood! Hello, nice to meet you Ash.'' The Rotom talked to his new owner.

''I'm having a dejavu...'' The boy was a bit confused.

''Dejavu?'' asked the phone.

''You're just like a Rotomdex from Alola, right?''

''I do have some similarities but I'm not just a Pokedex, I have lots of other applications that will be useful for you, I'm also smaller and can fit on you pocket.''

''Well Rotom, You're my new Pokedex.''

Ash then took a picture of Rotomdex from his pocket and ripped it in half.

Meanwhile in Alola.

''ARGH, MY HEART!'' Rotomdex exclaimed.

''You...don't have one.'' Kukui looked at the Pokedex confused.

''Well, it felt like I had one just now.''

''Thanks Ash, I'm sure we'll have a great time together.'' The phone then flew to the boy's pocket.

''Of course, I also wish you good luck in your Gym challenge, Chairman Rose has big hopes on you, apparently.''

''Alright, I'll do my best.''

''Then I'll take my leave, It was a pleasure to meet you.''

''The pleasure was mine.''

''Well Pikachu, we're off to route 5.'' The boy left the pokemon center and was heading to the west as he has been told.

As Ash was leaving the city he heard some noises from a bush, when he got closer a Riolu came out of the bushes with his eyes closed and a hand in front of his body as if he was looking for something he kept walking until he was infront of Ash, the Pokemon then opened his eyes, jumped back and got in a fighting stance.

''Looks like we got our first battle, Pikachu.''

''PIKA'' Pikachu got down from Ash's shoulder to fight, but Riolu ignored him and walked toward Ash pointing at him.

''You want to fight me?'' Ash got confused as Riolu nodded ''But...I'm not Pokemon.''

The Riolu used a Vacuum Wave against Ash who barely avoided it.

''Hey, what's the deal?''

The Riolu sighed and decided to leave until he received a Quick Attack from Pikachu on his back.

''Think you can attack my trainer and leave like nothing happened?'' Said an angry pokemon with a challenging look making Riolu get back in his fighting stance.

''I sensed a strong energy coming from here, but it seems like you trainer isn't the source.''

''Well, that's your mistake, Hey Ash, let's take him down!'' The pokemon looked at his trainer in the eyes who seemed to have understood the message.

''You wanted a fight? We'll give you one, Thunderbolt!'' Ash ordered.

Pikachu released a Thunderbolt which Riolu dodged using a Quick Attack, he then used the impulse to crash against Pikachu, knocking him back.

''IRON TAIL!''

Riolu once again dodged the attack, this time giving Pikachu a Sky Uppercut in the chin throwing him to the ground.

''You okay Pikachu?'' The mouse got up and grunted. ''Then let's go for another Thunderbolt!''

As Pikachu was charging the attack Riolu looked with attention and his body was covered by a black and white aura that then turned yellow as he shot a Thunderbolt that created a explosion when it crashed with Pikachu's.

''So he knows Copycat.'' Ash got flashbacks of Cameron's Lucario and how that Pokemon humiliated him at the Unova League. ''Yeah...that's not a nice memory.''

''You're pretty tough, huh?'' He said to Riolu, but the Pokemon didn't say anything, he just stood there waiting for their next move. ''Let's go for Quick Attack!'' Pikachu did as commanded, but Riolu used Quick Attack as well knocking them both back. ''Do it again Pikachu; and keep' em coming!'' An idea flew through Ash's head.

Pikachu and Riolu kept using Quick Attack against each other until...

''OL!'' The blue pokemon was stopped when yellow static appeared around him, preventing him to move.

Pika pika! ('In case you haven't noticed, you've fallen right into my trap!') The mouse laughed victorious.

''NOW, THUNDERBOLT!''

Unable to move, Riolu was struck by the lightning but was still standing. He once again sensed the aura that lead him here to begin with.

''No...it definitely comes from him.'' He thought as he fell to the ground, Ash then threw a Poke Ball to the canine's head catching it at the first try.

''Alright, I caught a Riolu!'' He made his usual victory pose which Pikachu joined.

Ash then went back to the Hulbury Pokemon center to heal Riolu, after waiting a while, he received his Poke Ball back from Nurse Joy and released Riolu to talk with him.

''That was an awesome battle Riolu, you're part of the team now so let's get stronger together!''

The pokemon let out a simple smile, Pikachu then walked towards him and offered Riolu a handshake with he accepted.

''Welcome to the family, bud.''

''Thanks and sorry for the rough first impression.'' He looked up to Ash who smiled. ''This will surely be interesting.''

''What do you mean by 'I lost track of her'?''

''Please excuse me Sir, she was already pretty far and I couldn't keep her pace, but I'm sure she is heading to the north right now.''

''...''

''I will go after her, Sir.'' Genta offered still trying to win some time for her.

''No, for now let her be, this is not worth all the trouble, as I said before she will come back eventually.''

''As you prefer, Sir.'' Genta left the room leaving the man alone.

''Just what is this girl up to?'' Tha man asked himself.
