Chapter 23: chapter 23
Several rocks fell from the roof of the tunnel, creating a huge dust cloud surrounded its insides, once the dust started to subside, a red light illuminated the place, Ash had his hands raised in the air, a giant red shield covering them, Ash and Bea were both coughing but intact.
''Oh, thanks Arceus.'' Ash sighed relieved.
''How did you know it would work?'' Bea asked.
''I didn't know, I just had faith.''
''Yeah, whatever you say, Toretto." Bea looked again at the wall of boulders that blocked their way. ''Ash, how long can you keep that shield up?''
''That's an excellent question." Ash laughed nervous since he didn't know himself "...huff, Bea, you have Hitmontop with you, right?''
"I do." Bea replied showing Ash the Poke Ball.
''Fine, this is the plan, tell him to use Drill run to make a way out, I'll try to keep this shield up as much as I can to protect us from the debris.''
''Sounds doable.'' Bea said releasing Hitmontop. "Hitmontop, use Drill run to get through the boulders, alright?"
"Hit!" Hitmontop jumped and realized the move, impacting the boulder directly, however, after roughly a minute of drilling, Hitmontop didn't move the rock at all, he jumped back and noticed he barely scratched the wall with his attack, he then looked back at Bea giving her a sad look.
''What's wrong?'' Bea asked.
''It seems like the stone is too sturdy for him." Ash said and Hitmontop nodded. "What now?''
''Let me think..." Bea crossed her legs and sat down.
"Hitmontop! What do we do?!" Quilladin shouted.
"I'm not sure, this is-" Hitmontop was about to say something but Quilladin interrupted while hyperventilating.
"We're going to die! We're going to-" Hitmontop interrupted Quilladin with a soft triple kick trying to calm him down.
"Cut it down, would you?"
"Can't Hitmontop dig in another direction?" Ash asked.
"The tunnels wouldn't be big enough to let us get through." Bea explained. "And even if they were, this place is too unstable, the tunnels could collapse."
"What about your other pokemon?"
"Cinderace, Gallade and Rufflet are all down, the fight with Team Galactic wore everyone out and I'm out of medicine for them." Bea then searched for her Rotom Phone. "No signal down here."
"Same goes for me, we're running out of options."
"So there's nothing we can do?" Bea asked.
"...Let me try something." Ash moved his hands and put the shield Infront of them. "Well, that worked, now let's see..." Ash pushed the shield forward to bash the rocks, but once it crashed, it just caused another quake, Ash quickly raised the shield again and protected them from the falling rocks that the impact caused.
"Is everyone okay?" Ash asked between some coughs because if the raising dust.
"As okay as I can be right now." Bea sighed holding Quilladin and Hitmontop.
"I didn't move it all." Ash looked back at the wall of rocks that didn't even have a scratch. "You sure you don't have any medicine for our Pokemon?"
"I don't, totally sure." Bea sighed again, Quilladin and Hitmontop were all they had, but they weren't strong enough to take down the rocks and their strongest Pokemon were all knocked out.
Bea thought about the situation for a moment, Ash was already looking tired, he wouldn't be able of holding that shield forever and considering all the quakes so far, it was a matter of time before the whole place collapsed over then, Bea then looked firmly at the rocks, she had an idea, but a part of Herz didn't want to do it. "There's no use..." Bea finally gave in and stood up. "Okay...my turn." Bea left her Pokemon with Ash and walked to the boulders, putting a hand over the biggest of them, Bea looked firmly at the rock, she closed her eyes and sighed.
"Bea?" Ash called her she didn't respond, Bea raised her fist and punched the rock, the impact caused some rubbles to fall, but the rock that Bea punched barely had a scratch.
''Bea, I don't think that's going to work.'' Despite having experienced Bea's brute strength in first person, Ash thought that this seemed like too much, even for her.
''...'' Bea didn't answer and launched various jabs at the rock, still not doing a thing.
''Bea, you're gonna hurt yourself!'' Ash called her again, but Bea ignored him.
''...'' Another blow.
''Bea, come on! We can find another way!''
''..." And another one.
''BEA!'' Ash shouted desperate.
''WHAT?!'' Bea finally shouted back.
''Y-Your fists...your fists are bleeding!"
"What?" Bea looked at her hands, it was right, there were thin trails of blood sprouting from her bruised knuckles, most people would freak out this sight, but this just frustrated Bea even more.
''NO, no, no!'' Bea landed yet another punch despite her state.
''Bea, stop!''
''Just let me! ARGH!'' Bea held her right hand trying to ease the pain. "I can do it!" Bea raised her fist again but Ash stopped her.
"I told you to stop!" Ash held her right wrist with one of his hands, still trying to keep up the shield with his other hand. " We won't get out that way!"
"I'm almost there!" Bea assured him.
"No, you're not!" Ash tried to put Bea's fist down but she forced him off. "Bea, you're already injured and you're only making it worse."
"I don't care if I'm hurt! I have to take you out of here!"
"Take me out?" Ash asked. "What about you?"
"Who cares?!"
"I DO! I CARE A LOT! Why are you always doing this?! Why do you always act as if you were less important than me?!"
"Because I am!"
"No, you're not!"
"I need to be able to protect you! That's the least I can do!" Bea then pushed Ash, with enough enough force to make him fall on the ground, but not enough to hurt him.
"Why won't you..." Bea raised her fist again enduring the pain.
"Bea, liste-"
"WHY WON'T YOU JUST LET ME DO THIS FOR YOU, ASH?!" Bea shouted her lungs out, they both stood silent for a moment.
"Please, at least let me-" Ash tried to reach Bea's hand to see her injuries but she pulled it away from him.
"I try to do this for you, Ash." Bea began to talk again. "Traveling with you has...it has made so happy and I have no way of repaying all the things you've done or all the things I know you'll do for me in the future."
"Bea, you don't have to repay me anything."
"I knew you would say something like that...but that doesn't changes how I feel." Bea looked at her hands again, clenching her fists. "Ash, I'm with you, a 100%, I will always do all I can to help you and right now...this is all I can do." Bea looked at the rocks again. "If I need to break this cave piece by piece, you can be sure that I'll do it!"
"...Bea, I- ...y-your hand..."
"What's with my-" Bea looked at her right hand, seeing a blue light coming from it. "This is..." Bea closed her fists and the light formed a blue sword with a wolf head pommel.
"A-Ash, you're seeing this, right?" Bea looked at Ash who simply nodded.
Bea contemplated the sword for a moment she looked back at the rocks and swung the sword, leaving a deep cut and breaking a part of the rock.
Bea then started to breath heavily and she looked at the rock. "You won't stop me anymore..." Bea grabbed the sword firmly with both hands she swung the sword again, this time with all the strength she had left, despite that, at the moment it hit the rock, the sword broke into pieces and Bea's eyes widened.
"What...I-I..." Bea stumbled and fell back, Ash moved himself just in time to catch her before she hit the ground, but he lost focus and the shield disappeared.
''Bea!'' Ash cried out.
"I'm okay..." Bea said. "Why didn't it work again?"
"I'm not sure just-" Ash was about to say something but Bea got up and tried to form the sword again to no avail, she quickly fell back and Ash caught her once more. "Calm down, would you?"
"I...I finally did it, why didn't it work..." Bea's voice was getting weaker.
"Bea! Oh no, no, no." Quilladin started to freak out.
Hitmontop quickly tried to calm down his friend. "Quilladin, she's fine, she's just tired."
"But this, she isn't- no, no, no!"
"Quilladin, calm down!"
Quilladin started to panic and turned himself into a ball, rolling around and accidentally hitting the walls causing another quake.
"Why the hell is this place so unstable?!" Ash tried to form another shield but he couldn't focus enough. "Come on, not now." Ash kept trying but the shield still didn't appear.
"You two, take cover!" Ash shouted at Hitmontop and Quilladin as he closed his eyes and tried to protect Bea with his body.
"Ash..." Bea trailed off before fainting.
''CHESNAUGHT!''
The falling rocks were suddenly stopped by a Spiky Shield that appeared over them, Ash opened his eyes and saw a Chesnaught raising his arms to protect them.
"Q-Quilladin?" Ash asked looking at him.
"Naught!" The Pokemon nodded as he expanded the shield.
Ash then looked down at Bea and noticed she was fainted, once the rocks stopped, Chesnaught put down the shield and got closer to see Bea.
"She's okay, fainted because of the effort but okay, hold her head a moment will you?" Ash left Bea with Chesnaught for a moment and searched for some bandages he had on his backpack, he wrapped them around Bea's hands, improvising compression gloves to stop the bleeding. "There, that was priority number one, now for number two." Ash carried Bea on his back and then looked at Chesnaught. "You think you can take down the wall now that you evolved?"
Chesnaught looked at himself for a moment, he then looked at the rocks, then back to Ash and gave him a nod.
"Alright, just keep thrusting forward and go upstairs until we made it to the exit, we'll be right behind you, got it?" After Ash explained, he got a nod from Chesnaught. "Alright, then we'll back down a little, stay close Hitmontop." Still with Bea on her back, Ash took a few steps back along Hitmontop.
Chesnaught slammed his fists together, forming a round shield from its forearms, The shield then turned into an green energy force field and spikes sprouted out of it.
"Ches?" The newly evolved Pokemon looked back at them.
"We're ready!" Ash assured him.
"Chesnaught!" The Grass starter roared as he dashed onward the wall of rocks.
Back in the surface, Flannery, Jasmine, Volkner, Lucas and Mars were all outside, they suddenly heard an explosion-like sound from beneath the ground, after that, the warehouse and most of the ground around it collapsed and there was still no sign of Ash and Bea.
"A-Ash!" Jasmine exclaimed. "I Gotta-"
"Jasmine, wait!" Flannery stopped her. "There's nothing we can do now."
"But what about Ash? And Bea is there too!"
"You know Ash, he's gotten out of worse." Flannery tried to see the bright side.
"But I...I couldn't tell him."
"They're going to be okay! We just have to-" The ground suddenly began to shake again.
A giant green spiky energy ball rose from the debris, the ball then exploded like a bubble, Ash, Hitmontop, Chesnaught and the still unconscious Bea appearing from it.
"Ash!" Both Jasmine and Flannery ran to them, Volkner simply stood back laughing still with Pikachu on his arms while Mars and Lucas sighed relieved.
"Ash, are you okay?" Flannery asked. "Are you breathing? How many fingers do you see?"
"Your hand has five anyway." Ash finally answered softly leaving Bea in the ground.
"You had me so worried!" Jasmine was about to cry.
"See? I told you they'd be fine." Flannery tried to confort her.
"S-Sorry, I-" Ash was about to say something but then he heard be waking up.
"Are we...?" Bea looked around and the first thing he spotted was Chesnaught. "...Quilladin...Chesnaught...you are...wow...you took us out of there didn't you?" Chesnaught nodded at her, Bea then looked at Hitmontop. "What about you, Hitmontop? All okay?" Bea received a nod in response. "Good, you two return, it's been a long day." Bea returned both her Pokemon and stood up noticing Ash was looking at her.
"Bea, are you okay?" Ash asked her.
"I am, don't worry."
"That makes me glad...What the hell is wrong with you?!" Ash bursted out.
"Uh?"
"Never EVER do something like that again, you hear me?!"
"What? I-I...I was trying to help you!
"You think we should intervene?" Flannery asked.
"No, no, no, let them solve this on their own." Jasmine answered.
"I...I still don't get it..." Bea said. "I admit it was reckless but...wouldn't you have done the same for me?"
"I-"
"Of course you would have." Bea answered the obvious herself. "I saw it Ash, even when your shield didn't appear you were going to protect me on your own...look, I understand I'm not the most feminine girl ever, but I'm no damsel in distress either, I can perfectly take care of myself, same goes for you, you're a traveler and a very strong trainer, you can take care of yourself, no problem...still, we both want to protect each other for some reason, so why is it okay when you protect me, but not okay when I protect you?"
"That's not the problem here, Bea...you really overdid yourself this time and...I guess I freaked out when I saw you bleeding, I appreciate a lot how you want to take care of me too, but as I already told you, I don't want you to get hurt because of me, I know we'll keep facing things like this, but we are sword and shield, we can't just work without one another, so remember, no matter what comes, we do this together...you and I..."
"You and I." Bea repeated the phrase and then opened her arms. "Uh? Awkward Friend hug?"
"Sincere friend hug." Ash answered, returning the gesture and hugging her.
"...Sorry about all the yelling by the way..." Ash said still in the hug.
"No, you're right, I may have exaggerated a bit...thanks for the bandages." Bea looked at her wrapped hands one more time. "I Kinda look like a fighter now."
"You look like a fighter most of the time anyway." Ash said.
"Was that a compliment or an insult?" Bea asked while squeezing Ash tighter with the hug.
"C-Compliment! Definitely compliment!" Ash exclaimed with difficulty due to sudden lack of air.
"Great." Bea loosened the tight and Ash breathed again.
"You guys!" Flannery ran at them and joined the hug. "Bea, are you okay?''
"I remain whole for now." Bea said.
''You know? They say Relationships based on intense experience never work, but I wouldn't mind giving this a try." Flannery started to laugh, with Bea and Ash joining her, Flannnery's laugh then abruptly stopped. "But serious talk, guys, It's very important for me that Uncle Kabu never finds out about this.''
"Seems like you made it." Cyrus appeared walking to them along his Weavile. "As always-"
"AGH!" Seeing the uniform Cyrus was wearing, Bea quickly jumped forward and took Cyrus down with a punch.
"Bea, wait!" Ash called her. "He's with us now."
"He is?" Bea looked down at Cyrus who nodded. "Uh...sure." Bea simply walked back at Ash.
"Sigh, I probably deserved that." Cyrus admitted.
''Cyrus what happened to Saturn?'' Ash asked him.
''...I found him after the explosion with all his vital signs gone." Cyrus answered. "He was too close, there was nothing I could do for him.''
"...sorry, I-"
''No...this is my fault, he was only following the path I gave him." Cyrus then looked at Mars who has been unable of saying anything. "I'm glad you could move past this.''
Mars simply gave him a nod and Cyrus returned the gesture.
Ash and co. then heard a gun load and in the blink of an eye they were all surrounded by armed agents pointing at Cyrus.
''Cyrus A. Kagi, you're completely surrounded!" Looker talked through a megaphone. "Do not attempt to move or we'll be shooting ourselves!''
''Where were all these idiots while we were fighting for our lives?'' Jasmine asked.
''Sorry, traffic's a bitch.'' One of the agents answered.
''Where's charon?!" Another one of the agents talked with anger. "What the hell is the matter with you? You let him go!''
''Cops reprimands citizen for not doing cop's job?'' Volkner asked him.
''Uh... as I was saying, thanks for your efforts.''
''Don't worry about that, Morgan." The agent's partner stood next to him. "We captured plenty of grunts in the run while we were on the way here, some of them will have to talk, soon we'll capture Charon once and for all.''
"Whatever, Reid." Morgan then showed a pair of handcuffs and looked at Cyrus. ''You're coming with us.''
''Of course.'' Cyrus offered his wrists.
''Uh, well...You have the right to remain silen-''
''Yeah, yeah, I've watched crime drama before." Cyrus interrupted. "Just take me.'' Morgan cuffed Cyrus and the latter looked at Ash one last time before they took him. "...one last thing." Cyrus noticed Weavile was following him, he searched for his Poke Ball and then he tossed the ball at Weavile, who caught it with his claws. "Weavile, I want to go with Ash from now on." What Cyrus said surprised everyone, even the agents who didn't know what was going on. "I've appreciated your company, but this is all I can do for you now, try to find a better life."' Weavile simply looked down.
"Cyrus, wait-" Ash tried to say something
"No, Ash." Cyrus interrupted again. ''It'll be better that way...Thank you for stopping this.''
An helicopter landed next to Ash and co. The agents took Cyrus inside of it and flew away, once the helicopter was out of sight, Weavile simply looked at Ash expectantly.
Still unsure what to do, Ash knelt down close to the Pokemon. "...Weavile, I won't ask you to come with me if you don't want to, you can start over and run free if that's what you prefer."
Weavile looked at his Poke Ball for a second, he raised his right claw with a Night Slash as if he was about to cut it in half, Weavile kept looking at the Poke Ball and then sighed, stopping his move and tossing the ball to Ash.
"You sure?" Ash asked.
"Vile!" The Pokemon nodded.
"...Fine then." Ash pointed the Poke Ball at him and Weavile returned on his own, Ash then noticed the Poke Ball had a Team Galactic seal printed on it, Ash peeled it off and the ball wagged a little after that, Weavile knew what he did but he didn't mind.
"Yo dudes!" Regieleki called them, bouncing around.
"Thanks for the help, I really didn't know there were other Regis." Ash said. ''Where do you two come from?''
''We are form the Crown Tundra, a special place in the southern region of Galar.'' Regidrago answered.
"Have you heard about that, Bea?" Ash asked her.
"I've heard legends from there, something about two titan twins, that must be you two."
"Indeed." Regidrago answered.
"You should pay us a visit." Regieleki said. ''Kinda cold, but hey, it's home.''
"What are you gonna do with them?" Ash pointed at the other three Regis who were still Thunder Caged.
"Our brothers have been freed from the influence of Team Galactic." Regidrago explained. "We'll take them back to their chambers so they can rest."
After saying this, a big ring portal appeared behind the titans. "That's our cue." Regieleki jumped inside the portal carrying his brothers with the Thunder Cage.
"We'll meet again, chosen one, it's been an honor." Regidrago said to Ash before leaving.
"The Crown Tundra, uh?" Ash asked himself.
"Ash, Bea." Lucas talked to them. "Thanks for all the help, we'll be going back to Sandgem now."
"Of course, take care." Ash said.
"Hey, where is Mars?" Bea asked.
"I..." Lucas looked around, not spotting his partner. "Well, I think he said she'd be going to the lake a moment, she has a lot to process after today.
"I'll go talk to her." Bea started to walk to the lake. "I'll be back in a second, Ash."
Bea walked to the edge of the lake, where Mars was standing, she was looking at the interpol agents recollecting the pieces of Saturn's machine.
"You okay, Mars?" Bea asked but she didn't answer. "Saturn...he was your friend, wasn't he?"
"Everyone in Team Galactic was like family to me." Mars answered. "Maybe Charon was right.''
''No, he wasn't, Mars, you can decide what you want to be, believe me, you can make this work and start over.''
''But how? How do I do that? How do I know those things won't reach me eventually? How can I be sure?''
''...''
''Yeah, that's what I thought.'' Mars was about to leave the place.
''Mars, listen, I may have no answer for that but-''
''But what? Why are you even trying to help me?!''
''Because I'm running from my past too..." Bea finally admitted. "And I don't have the perfect way to deal with all that, but I still try to move forward and...being with Ash help me a lot, even if he doesn't realize it, so...as long as you have someone else to help you carry that burden, I guess you'll be okay.''
"...Thanks."
After saying their goodbyes to Mars and Lucas, the interpol took Ash ad co. to the closest city, that being Pastoria, to ask them some questions, the agents then disappeared as quickly as they came.
"Well, let's take you with Nurse Joy.'' Ash held Bea's hand to check them, luckily, thanks to the bandages that Ash put her, she wasn't bleeding anymore.
''Ash, I'm fine, these are just some bruises.'' Bea disagreed. "Besides, you already put me this bandages."
''You always say that, this but a scratch." Ash said the lasts sentence trying to mimic Bea's voice. "I know you are resistant and all that, but it still worries me, at least let her check your hands.''
''...Fine, but just because you'll keep insisting otherwise..." Bea finally gave in. "Thanks for worrying.''
After Bea went with Nurse Joy, Volkner tap Ash's shoulder getting his attention.
"Uh, Volkner, how is Jasmine?" Ash asked since the aforementioned wasn't along Volkner.
"She'll be fine, just a little headache from the boom, she went to sleep."
"You care a lot for her, don't you?" Ash asked.
"I do." Volkner admitted. "It's kinda funny, I had a bit of a crush in her when we first met."
"Wow, I didn't know."
"Don't mind it, I kinda lost interest as time went by, we're like brothers now and if she wants to give her trust to someone else then I'm glad that's you."
"What are you-"
"You'll find out later, it's alright, you're a good one...well." Volkner gave Ash a little back slap and started to walk away. "I'll be back to Sunyshore."
"And what about Jasmine?"
"The contest is tomorrow and she said she needed to go, but I'm not a fan of contests, besides, I think it'll be better to let her handle you on her own."
"Handle me?" Ash blinked a few times. "W-Wait, you're not saying she is-"
"Good luck, Ash, you're probably gonna need it." Volkner said as he left the center.
Legendary Pokemon, the gods and kings of their world, each one of them insanely powerful, their power goes from weather manipulation to ruling over time and space, people used to think there were only a few Legendary Pokemon, but as the time goes up, we learn about more and more legendaries, let's take a look at them.
First, things first, most Legendary Pokemon are not unique, but for each species, there's one 'original' which is the strongest of each kind, this original cannot be caught by any kind of Poke Ball, although they can be controlled by other methods, like that, only original legendaries are allowed in the hall of origins, they tend to stay there for most of the time.
In this hall, the original Legendaries are divided into three groups, while this groups don't have precise names we'll refer to them as this:
The first groups are 'The minors' formed by the Kanto birds, Mewtwo, the Johto beasts, Celebi, the Regis, the Eon Duo, Deoxys, Jirachi, Heatran, Cresselia, Darkrai, Shaymin, Manaphy, the Swords of Justice, The Unovan Genies, Meloetta, the Red Genesect, Victini, Hoopa, Diancie, Volcanion, the Tapus, Magearna, Zeraora and our Mr. Marsh.
Then there's a higher group we call 'The majors' formed by Ho-oH, Lugia, Kyogre, Groudon,Rayquaza, Reshiram, Zekrom, Kyurem, Yveltal, Xerneas, Zygarde, Solgaleo, Lunala, Necrozma, Zacian and Zamazenta.
At last, the highest group known as 'The Alphas' formed by Palkia, Dialga, the Lake Guardians, Regigigas, Mew and Arceus itself, before being vanished, Giratina also belonged to this group.
Still, ranks are not what bring us here today, right now, plenty of legendaries were in the living room of the hall of origins watching the chosen one's victory.
''And Ash Ketchum saves the day again!'' Victini cheered on.
''Alright people, hand the bets." Kyurem said. "who said it will take him more than an hour?''
''Zacian, Zamazenta.'' Cresselia appeared behind them. ''Arceus is ready to receive you, please go to his room.''
"Thanks for telling us." Zamazenta replied and looked at Zacian. "let's go, sister."
The hero brothers found himself Infront of a large set of stairs, they walked up to it, where Arceus was in a fully white room without walls or roof, simply looking at the nothingness.
"It's nice to see you, Lord Arceus." Zacian greeted as they both bow down.
"Why did you wished to have an audience with me?" Arceus directly asked.
"It's something regarding your chosen one." Zamazenta stepped in.
"And what is the issue?" Arceus asked.
"Ok, so..." Zamazenta started to explain. "Ash had this nightmare a few days ago, a nightmare where all the villains he's met will join together to fight him, those villains used Legendary Pokemon too."
"...is that so?" Arceus asked.
"Yeah, Zacian and I tried to see about it in our altar but there wasn't anything, perhaps you could tell us about that."
"...I don't know how that vision reached the chosen one's mind but I'm afraid that it's true."
"What? Are you sure?" Zacian asked.
"Team Rocket is planning something... something big...they plan to use the energy created by Eternatus to make a portal...a portal that will bring here Villains from other worlds, worlds from where they have succeed and lead armies and Legendary Pokemon...seems like it'll be too much for him.
"I know Team Rocket is not our jurisdiction." Zacian said. "But if this is something that directly links with Eternatus, why didn't you tell us before?"
"...I'm afraid that the answer is beyond your understanding."
''Don't worry about that, you're gonna help us anyway, right?'' Zamazenta asked.
''Help you?'' Arceus asked back.
''Yeah! When all those villains show up, we're gonna have a big endgame scene with all the legendaries of the hall arriving to help Ash in the fight, right?''
"..." Arceus stood silent.
"...right?" Zamazenta's smile started to die down.
"I'm afraid not." He finally answered.
"Uh, why not?" Zamazenta asked.
''Because it would be worthless.'' Arceus continued.
''Why are you saying that?'' Zacian asked.
''The day Eternatus arrives and Team Rocket appears, it shall be the last day of this earth.''
''What?!"
"WHY?!"
"HOW?!''
''This world's evil is growing every day." Arceus started to explain. "Soon it will hit a no-return point, when all those villains cross the portal, I will wipe out this whole world with all that evil once and for all, then will create a new one, a good one from zero.''
''...But what about the good people and Pokemon who live there?'' Zamazenta asked once he got over the shock.
''They won't feel a thing, they will disappear along this world, everyone with the exception of those who can enter the hall will do as well.''
''But that's unfair!'' Zamazenta shouted.
''And your opinion is irrelevant, I rule it all, it is my duty to decide wrong and right, besides, I've done this plenty of times, although this will be the first time you'll be as legendaries to see it.''
''Plenty of times..." Zacian said. "How many times have you done this exactly?''
''Countless...Both humans and Pokemon let themselves corrupt very easy, but I have to admit, this is the world that has lasted the most.''
''So the humans are right..." Zamazenta lowered his head. "You may be all powerful, but you are not all good.''
''Zamazenta...'' Arceus simply looked at him, knowing his reaction would be something like this.
''You're telling that EVERY time something's wrong, you eliminate the whole world as if it was some miswritten word in a paper, don't you see all that happens down there?! Don't you care?!''
''I care more than you can ever imagine." Arceus answered. "That's why I am doing this.''
''...Zacian, we're leaving.'' Zamazenta started to walk off the room.
''Stop right there." Arceus called him. "I'm not finished with you.''
''No, but I am finished with you!'' Zamazenta shouted.
''Zamazenta!" Zacian was scared by his brother's reaction.
''ARGH! What about the good people like Ash? Don't they matter?!'' Zamazenta kept asking.
''It is true that Ash is a singularity among my resets, perhaps I should bring him here so he doesn't disappear.''
'You think he'll be okay with that? Seeing all his friends die?''
''Then what do you suggest?'' Arceus asked.
''Let him fight!" Zamazenta said. "Let US fight by his side! We will defeat Eternatus and Team Rocket.''
''If you fight, you'll perish.''
''But why? Why does it have to be like this?'' Zamazenta kept asking. "I don't get it, why did you make us bless Ash and Bea if you don't want us to Fight at all?"
''That's the way it's written.''
"WHAT IN THE F*CK IS THAT EVEN SUPPOSED TO MEAN?!"
"Zamazenta, what are you doing?" Zacian whispered to her brother, trying to calm him down.
''Stop overreacting, you'll survive here in the hall.''
''I DON'T WANT TO SURVIVE! I WANT TO LIVE!'' Zamazenta stomped the ground.
''...You don't understand, there are forces that go even over my own power, every success Ash has had was already written by fate, but this shall be the end, he is going to lose this fight, that's why I cant take risks. If either Eternatus or Team Rocket grow powerful enough, they could even reach the hall, they could go against me and destroy all of us.''
''Not if we defeat him before that happens, what if we stop Team Rocket before they can summon Eternatus?!''
''Zamazenta, just because I predicted this, it doesn't make it any easier to me.''
''And what's with that?! What's the point of knowing all that's going to happen...if you can't change it?"
''I think is time for you to leave.'' Arceus said.
''If we defeat Eternatus and Team Rocket-'' Zamazenta tried to talk again.
''That's not gonna happen.'' Arceus interrupted.
''If it happens...'' Zacian decided to stood along her brother.
''If it happens..." Arceus thought for a moment. "If you win, if you manage to overwrite fate and defeat Eternatus and Team rocket, then the world shall stay as it is, but if you fail, or rather; when you fail...you'll have no place in this hall.''
The brothers looked at each other for a moment. ''You got a deal.'' They said together.
''As you wish.'' Arceus replied. ''But one last thing, you are forgiven to tell the chosen one about my judgement day and you are forbidden to intervene with Team Rocket's plan, I need all those villains together in the same place to get rid of them.''
''Why does everyone wants to keep secrets from him?'' Zamazenta asked. "...let's go, Zacian."
The two brothers went downstairs and looked at each other.
"Things just got a lot more complicated." Zamazenta said.
''If we can't stop them, we'll have to fight." Zacian said. "We need to prioritize the search of our sacred items."
"We do." Zamazenta agreed. "But even then, we're in a tight spot, if this has already happened, the other legendaries of the hall must know about it and I really doubt they will help us, since Arceus is not going to."
"So we're on our own?" Zacian asked.
"Not necessarily, we still have our folks in Galar.'' Zamazenta said, pointing out that Zacian and him were the only Galar Legendaries allowed in the hall
''Yeah, but there's a problem with that, The regis hate us, the birds are assholes, the Urshifus are in a vow of peace, Zarude is adopting orphans while 'son of man' plays in the background and Calyrex is somewhere in the mountains wallowing in self pity.'' The Galar Legendaries are pretty much a dysfunctional family.
''We'll have to convince them somehow, the swords of justice may help us too.''
''Why would they?'' Zacian asked.
''The other day I saw Terrakion with a body pillow of you.''
''HE WHAT?!''
''Anyway, let's start with Calyrex." Zamazenta suggested. "He's the strongest of them, but we're gonna need some help to find him."
"Sigh here we go."
Back to the simpler things, May was on her room of the Hearthome hotel looking through the window.
''Hey, honey.'' Caroline called from the door. ''Ready for the big day?''
''Yeah...I think...'' May kept looking at the window.
''I think I have something for you.'' Caroline stood next to her daughter. ''I just remembered that some years ago, Delia and I traded numbers, maybe you could call her and talk with Ash.''
''I don't know, mom.'' May lowered her head.
''Hey, don't be like that.'' Caroline raised her chin. ''I'm sure he'll be very happy to receive a call from you, maybe he can still make it in time to the contest if you ask him to come.''
"But that's the problem, Mom." May sat on her bedroom. "I want him to make the first move, if I call him, he'd feel guilty, he'll only come to the contest because I asked him, not because he wants to."
"I still think you should give him a chance." Caroline took May's phone and started typing. ''Here, done.'' She gave May her phone back, now with Delia's number on it. ''I'll leave you alone dear...I won't force you to call, but if you want to see him so bad, I think you should try it.'' Caroline left the room and May simply looked at the phone.
May had to admit her mom had a point, she sighed and finally called, after a few seconds Delia answered the call.
"Oh, hello May!" Delia quickly greeted her. "It's good to see you.
"Hello, Miss Ketchum, I'm glad you remember me."
"Oh, don't be like that, of all Ash's friends my friends too, is there a special reason for you to call me?
''Well, Miss Ketchum..." May did her best to control her nerves. "I was wondering if I could talk with Ash.''
''Ash?'' Delia asked curious. ''Isn't he with you?''
''Uh? No, why would he?'' Delia's question confused May.
''He told me he was going to see you.'' Delia explained
''W-WHAT?!'' May shouted and then gave out a smile. ''He did? Are you sure?''
''I am, he's been traveling in Galar, but he told me he would go to Sinnoh to see you, although that was days ago, I thought he'd be there by now.''
''Days ago...'' May smiled died a little.
''I'll give you his number, is that alright?'' Delia asked.
''Uh, yes, I'd appreciate that, Miss Ketchum.''
After writing the number on a piece of paper, Delia and May said their goodbyes and cut the call, May then typed the number on her phone and stood watching at it for a minute that seemed like an eternity for her.
''Why don't you just do it?'' She asked herself. ''The contest is tomorrow...if he said he'd come days ago, why isn't he here already?'' May looked herself in a mirror. ''Maybe he forgot...Maybr changed his mind...or most likely..." May looked at her half-ribbon. "He simply doesn't care about me.''
May looked at her phone one more time. ''Why can't you just call him? Don't you want to know at least?'' May was about to call, she just had to press one button and...
Back with Ash.
After the odd talk with Volkner, Ash walked to a couch and sat down to wait for Bea, after resting for a while, Ash received a call on his Rotom phone and it was none other than...
'Hi there, Nessa!''
''If he doesn't wants to see me...'' May said to herself, putting her phone away. ''Then what's the point?''
''Ash! I'm so glad you answered!" Nessa shouted with a worried look. "Are you okay?!"
''Uh, sure, why do you ask?''
''I saw the news that you were in Sinnoh dealing with some Team Galactic and...well, you had me worried.''
''I see, don't worry, I'm just fine.''
''Sure, still, I didn't know you were in Sinnoh, does that means you quit the Gym challenge?''
''Not at all, I just came for a few days, soon I'll get back to Galar.''
''That's good to know, well, I'll go, sorry for being a bother.''
"It's not a bother, it makes me glad that you worry about me." This statement caused Nessa to blush.
"Sure, how's Bea by the way?"
"She's alright, got some injuries, but she insists it's no big deal."
"I see, well, tell her I hope to see her soon too."
''I will, goodbye then.'' Ash was about to cut the call but Nessa stopped him.
''Oh, Ash, wait! There's one more thing I have to mention!''
''Uh, what is it?''
''I love you.'' Nessa said with a smile and Ash couldn't help but blush. "Ha! I got you with guard down, didn't I?" Nessa laughed satisfied with Ash's reaction. "Well, I'll see you once you're back in Galar, bye!'' Nessa cut the call and Ash stood there a moment.
"...bye."
"Hey, Ash." Bea called him back to reality. "Have you seen Flannery?"
"Oh, she's in the back of the center, she said she wanted to spent some time with Pyroar.
"Is everything alright?"
"Sure, I was just talking to Nessa."
"Hmmm..."
"Ash/Bea, can you hear us?''
''..Zamazenta?" Ash asked
"Zacian, is that you?'' Bea asked as well.
''Yes, it's us.'' Zamazenta said.
''Uh, sorry. about this, but we need you to hold your hands together so you can hear both of us.'' Zacian and Zamazenta said at the same time, since they can only talk with their chosen, they needed them to be in contact so the four could talk.
Ash and Bea looked at each other, Bea sat next to him in the couch and the held their hands together.
''There, how is it going?'' Zamazenta asked.
''We're fine." Bea answered. "Is anything wrong?''
''No...not at all guys, but we have a little mission for you two.'' Zacian said.
''How can we help?'' Ash asked.
''Once you get back to Galar, we need you to go to a place called the Crown Tundra."
"The crown Tundra?" Ash asked. "That's where Regidrago and Regieleki come from, right?"
"Correct." Zacian said. "But this is not about them, you see."
"There's a Legendary Pokemon called Calyrex that lives in the Crown Tundra." Zamazenta continued. "We need you to find him, got it?''
''Understood." Ash said. "You can count on us, right Bea?''
''Of course.'' Bea answered.
''Very well, we wish you the best of lucks.'' Zamazenta said.
''Thanks.'' Both Ash and Bea said as the call was cut.
"Ash Ketchum." Nurse Joy called him. "Your Pokemon are fully healed."
"Going! Give me a second, Bea."
Once Ash left her alone Bea decided to call again. ''Zacian, you still there?''
''I am.'' she answered.
''So...my sword.''
''Your sword?''
''It appeared but when I tried to use it, it broke like glass, what was that? Ash's shield is pretty sturdy, why my sword didn't work?''
Zacian thought for a moment before answering. ''Look, it's your typical power guided by the heart, Ash's shield appears when he wants to protect someone.''
''Well, I wanted to take Ash out of there.''
''That's right; And that's the reason why it appeared in the first place, but your mind quickly changed into something else, didn't it?''
''I...''
''There was a reason why you wanted to break that boulder so badly, your heart is still not fully in the right place...but it's starting to appear so you're getting close...good luck, Bea.''
''...You called me Bea.''
''Don't let it get into your head.'' Zacian cut the call and a flood of memories dropped on Bea.
-There was reason why you wanted to break that boulder so badly-
A young girl Infront of a huge boulder
A man standing by her side
The girl starts punching the rock
The man asks her to break it
She keeps punching
Not a single scratch
The girl pleads to stop
The man refuses
Every punch hurts the girl more
The man doesn't cares
The girl starts crying and drops herself on the ground
The man leaves her alone there
The girl didn't get much sleep that night...or the night after that.
"Bea?" Ash called her back to earth, He was infront of him, Bea was about to cry, but she held her tears, she tried to walk away, but something stopped her, she grabbed Ash in a strong hug and without saying a word, Ash returned the gesture.
"S-Sorry." Bea finally talked. "I needed that."
"It's alright, it's been a long day, right?
"Yes, and it looks like we have yet another mission."
"How are your hands?" Ash asked noticing Nurse Joy changed the bandages and these were now wrapping Bea's wholes forearms.
"It's fine, I already told you it wasn't big deal." Bea sat back in the couch.
"Here, squeeze my hand." Ash sat next to her and interlocked fingers with Bea, she blushed by the sudden movement but squeezed Ash's hand with strength nonetheless.
''Ok, ok, enough!'' Ash exclaimed since Bea was pressing too hard, Bea set him free while they both laughed. "Yup, seems about right." Ash said rubbing his red hand.
"Told ya..." All of the sudden, Bea dropped her head softly on Ash's shoulder.
"Bea, you okay?" Ash asked with a light blush.
"Ash, we almost died like 4 times today, I'm exhausted." Bea said as she thought. 'Time to see if all those movies are right.' Bea held onto one of Ash's arms and snuggled with him. "Good night, Ash." Bea said with a smile.
Ash gave in tried to catch some sleep as well, putting his head softly over Bea's. "...Good night, Bea."
'YES!' Bea though for herself.
Somewhere else in Sinnoh, Charon was walking through a valley along some grunts.
"Very well, this is the meeting spot." Charon said.
Suddenly a reflector illuminated them from the sky.
"Prepare for trouble!"
"And make it double!"
"Cut it off!" Charon shouted
"Please man, show some respect!" James exclaimed.
"Just get down here." Charon said as the Meowth hot air balloon descended to them.
"What's up with this?" Charon pointed at the not exactly discreet balloon.
"What? It's a classic?" Jessie said.
"Don't you have something a little less showy?"
"We...don't actually." James answered.
"The boss cut off our budget." Jessie added.
"Just take me out of here." With a bit of difficulty, Charon got inside the balloon, followed by the grunts, the balloon then rose up and after almost two hours of flight, the balloon arrived on Kanto, landing in an unknown location that held the Team Rocket Headquarters, The balloon landed right in front of the building, where a blonde teen along a Liepard was awaiting for their arrival.
"I'll take care of this from now on." The blonde said. "You must be Charon."
"Correct." Charon assured her getting off the balloon. "And you are?"
"My name is Domino, I'm Giovanni's Elite officer."
"Aren't you a little young to be a high rank member of one of the biggest criminal organizations in the world?" Charon asked.
"That's none of your concern." Domino then looked at James, Jessie and Meowth. "You three go away."
"Wait, why did we bring him here anyway?" Jessie asked.
"I'm afraid that's above your pay grade,
honey." Domino answered.
"Well, why don't you give me a raise then?"
"I'll ask you to leave one last time." Domino gave them a cold glare.
"Or else what?!" Jessie shouted.
"You had to ask." Domino took her 'tulip' extending it into a staff and shooting an electric charged blast at them, however, the trio managed to dodge the attack just in time.
"Ha! We saw that coming from miles away!" Jessie kept teasing Domino.
"I wasn't aiming at you." Domino said, this statement caused the three to look back, an opportunity that Domino took.
"Liepard, Burning Jealousy." Domino ordered as Liepard shot a pink Flame from her mouth, exploding onto Jessie, James and Meowth sending them flying. "Hmm, I guess having Pokemon is not so bad." Domino looked at her Liepard who was grooming her fur.
The trio then made her usual goodbye in the air. "Looks like Team rocket is-
"Yeah, whatever." Domino interrupted them, back in the ground. "Those three idiots." Domino then looked at Charon. "Just hand over the blueprints, I'll give them to Giovanni."
"If you allow me, there are some things I have to explain to him personally." Charon was about to enter the building but Domino stopped him with her staff.
"Giovanni wouldn't want to talk with someone like you." Domino said still blocking the way. "He's very busy."
"Why don't you call him to see if he wants to talk?" Charon offered.
"I won't-" Before Domino could say something, her communication device received a call.
"Yes, sir?" Domino quickly answered the call. "Of course sir, he's right here, I was about to...oh, I see...of course sir, I'll be there in a moment."
"So?" Charon asked with a grin.
"...fine, follow me." Domino packed away her tulip and guided Charon to Giovanni's office.
"Excuse my interruption, sir." Domino said from the door as Giovanni ended a call in his office. "I brought Charon, just like you asked me to."
"Of course, please take a seat, Charon." Giovanni offered with a weirdly happy smile. "Some of my grunts wanted to inform me about the mess, but I thought it would be better to hear it from you."
"Well, quick resume." Charon sat down as Domino stood next to Giovanni. "The portal worked, Cyrus was captured and Saturn is dead."
''Interesting." Giovanni answered. "So you brought him back, but in the end Saturn's plan didn't work, did it?''
''It wasn't mean to work, the portal for Cyrus was a mere test and Saturn was simply a distraction, with him down they think the menace has passed, the portal worked and Saturn gave me what I needed before fighting Ash.''
"Ash was there?" Giovanni asked surprised
"Yeah, he defeated Saturn in a Pokemon battle."
"It seems like that is everywhere and Everytime." Giovanni lean his back on his chair. "Heh, it almost feels like world revolves around him."
"You think he'll be a trouble in the future?" Charon asked.
"He already is, but let's not worry about that for now." Giovanni said as Charon nodded. "You still haven't explained me why you wanted some of my grunts to wear your Team Galactic outfits."
"I needed some extra hands and I needed the interpol to believe Team Galactic was doing this on their own, if they had seen Rocket Grunts with us it would have gave it away, although plenty of the men you sent me were caught, I apologize for that."
"It's alright, that was a sacrifice I was willing to take; And don't worry, they won't say a thing."
"Hmm, I'd really like to know where you got that kind of people from."
''Well, enough chit chats, what about our deal?''
''Here it is." Charon handed Giovanni a USB. "The data for the portal is loaded in this memory.'' Charon left the device on Giovanni's desk. ''I suppose your scientists can take care of the rest.''
''Of course, they're quite capable, now Charon, the Interpol will surely be looking for you, to thank you for your services you can stay in our headquarters as much as you want.''
''I appreciate it, Giovanni.''
''Now, if you allow me, there's someone else I need to talk.'' Charon nodded and walked to the door.
''...We're all doomed." Charon muttered to himself as he left the room, Domino stayed next to Giovanni awaiting orders.
"Domino, please leave as well." Giovanni asked.
"Are you sure, sir?" Domino asked slightly weirded out by the request.
"I am." Giovanni assured her. "This call is very important."
"I...Understood." Domino left the room and closed the door, but she stayed very close to it, to try and hear the conversation, Giovanni has never ever told her to leave him alone while doing a call, as important as it was, Domino would always be allowed to hear, so what made this call different?
After Giovanni was left alone, he opened a laptop and made a call, the waiting kept for a minute or so, as if it had bad signal or the other person didn't want to answer, just as Domino was about to leave, the call was finally answered.
''You got them?'' a distorted voice said from the other side of the call, the image wasn't clear either.
''Indeed, they are right here." Giovanni answered holding the USB. "Now that we have the blueprints we'll start building as soon as possible.''
''But we still need to find a power source big enough.'' The distorted voice talked again.
''Our friend Rose already has us covered with that." Giovanni replied. "He just doesn't know the exact details.''
''Seems like everything's going as planned." The voice on the other side turned somewhat clearer. "I'm glad I could trust you in the end.''
''Of course you could, we're one and the same after all.''
'One and the same...' Domino thought for herself. 'what is he talking about?
