Pokémon: Day Bringer

Chapter 20: Goldenrod city

The trio finally arrived to Goldenrov city, as they looked around will Jessie and James did, but Haru was always here so there was noting to change for him

Jessie looked at him. "You don't seem supires or on sight seeing move".

Haru looked at her. "Jessie, this is my home town, my house is here".

"Haru"

The trio heard a girls Voice, as Haru knew who it was as they saw Whitney coming to them, as she stopped and looked at Haru.

Whitney looked at him. "Hey, you should have called, I could have gotten the gym ready"

Haru laughed seeing his childhood friends enthusiasm. "Will because not today".

Whitney was a bit confused. "What, so tomorrow right?".

Haru looked at her and shakers his head. "No I have decide that I will challenge you in your strongest, so when I have 6 or 7 badges".

Whitney them giggles. "So what, your feeling home sick so early".

Haru then pointed at her. "No Whitney I cane for you"

Whitney took a few seconds, as what Haru said finally landed as her face went red. "Ethan wh-what you came for me"

Haru looker at her. "I am asking you out on a date, we both have liked Eachother sense we were kids".

Whitney's face turned even redder as she stammered. "Ethan, y-you can't just drop something like that out of nowhere!" She tried to maintain her composure but failed miserably as her cheeks flushed.

Jessie and James exchanged amused glances, with Jessie whispering, "Well, this just got interesting."

Haru smirked, enjoying her reaction. "Come on, Whitney. We've both known for a while, haven't we? So, what do you say? Just one date while I'm in town."

Whitney crossed her arms and huffed, trying to mask her embarrassment. "Fine! But only because you're here, and I don't want you moping around Goldenrod City without me."

Haru chuckled, satisfied with her answer. "Deal. So, tomorrow evening?"

Whitney nodded, still flustered. "Tomorrow evening it is. But don't think I'm going easy on you when you come to my gym later!"

Haru grinned. "I wouldn't expect anything less."

As Whitney walked away to prepare for the date, Jessie nudged Haru with her elbow. "Well, look at you, Mr. Romantic. You had that planned, didn't you?"

Haru shrugged, a rare smile lingering on his face. "Maybe. It's been a long time coming, that's all."

James smirked. "Just don't let this distract you from training. We still need to work on our Pokémon, especially if Whitney's as strong as she claims."

Haru nodded. "Don't worry. Training's still the priority. But sometimes, you've gotta make time for other things too."

The trio continued exploring Goldenrod City, with Jessie and James marveling at the bustling metropolis while Haru led the way with familiarity. Tomorrow promised to be an interesting day, both for training and for the beginnings of something new between Haru and Whitney.

James looked at Haru. "You know, your first name is Ethan so why does everyone call you Haru".

Haru looked at them. "Will my friend like Whitney, Bugey, Folkner and a few other call me Haru, sense I like my middle name more, They also call me Ethan from time to time".

Jessie then looker around the city. "Are you rich, this feels like a rich people".

Haru looked at them. "Will my parents are rich"

James raised an eyebrow. "So you're telling me you're not just a skilled trainer, but also from a rich family? Haru, you're full of surprises."

Haru smirked. "It's not like I flaunt it or anything. My parents worked hard for what they have, and they made sure I understood the value of effort. That's why I don't rely on their money for my journey."

Jessie crossed her arms, eyeing the pristine streets and grand buildings around them. "Still, this place screams 'wealthy.' Are your parents living in some kind of mansion?"

Haru shrugged. "Something like that. They're successful businesspeople in the Pokémon trade industry—rare items, specialty Poké Balls, things like that. But enough about that. I'm here as a trainer, not their son."

James whistled. "Must be nice, though, to have that safety net."

Haru's expression softened. "It's more pressure than you think. Everyone expects a lot when you're from a family like mine. That's why I've always tried to pave my own path. I want to earn my badges and achievements without anyone thinking I had it handed to me."

Jessie tilted her head. "So, Whitney, Bugsy, and Falkner all know you as 'Haru.' Does that mean you were some kind of prodigy trainer here before setting out on your journey?"

Haru chuckled. "Not exactly. I battled them a lot when we were younger, so they know me pretty well. Back then, it was less about winning and more about learning from each other."

James smirked. "Sounds like you've got connections everywhere."

Haru glanced at the gym in the distance. "Maybe, but connections don't win battles. Skill does. Now, let's focus on training. The gym battles ahead aren't going to get any easier."

Jessie grinned. "Still, it must feel nice to be back in your hometown, surrounded by familiar faces."

Haru gave a small smile. "It does. But I've got work to do—both as a trainer and... apparently as a guy going on a date tomorrow."

The group laughed as they continued their walk through Goldenrod City, the city's bustling life a mix of nostalgia for Haru and awe for Jessie and James.

As they walked through the lively streets of Goldenrod City, Haru led the group toward the Pokémon Center to book a room and ensure their Pokémon were in top shape.

Jessie marveled at the towering buildings and bustling markets. "This place is so different from the smaller towns we've passed through. It's like... a trainer's paradise."

James nodded. "I heard they even have a world-famous department store here. Think of all the rare items and TMs we could find!"

Haru smirked. "It's not just the store. Goldenrod has a lot to offer. There's the Magnet Train, the Radio Tower, and even an underground area for trainers looking for a challenge."

Jessie's eyes lit up. "Underground area? You're telling me there's more to explore?"

Haru nodded. "Yep. It's where trainers gather to test their skills in unofficial battles. If you're lucky, you might find rare items or Pokémon down there too."

James raised an eyebrow. "You've been there before, haven't you?"

Haru shrugged. "A few times when I was younger. It's a good place to sharpen your skills."

As they entered the Pokémon Center, Nurse Joy greeted them warmly. "Welcome to the Goldenrod City Pokémon Center! How can I assist you?"

Haru stepped forward. "We'd like to book a room and have our Pokémon healed, please."

Nurse Joy smiled. "Of course. Your Pokémon will be as good as new in no time."

As they handed over their Poké Balls, Jessie leaned closer to Haru. "So, about this date with Whitney... do you actually have a plan, or are you winging it?"

Haru scratched the back of his head. "A bit of both. Whitney and I have known each other for years, so it's not like I need some elaborate plan. I figured we'd just hang out, talk, and enjoy the day."

James grinned. "And what happens if she expects something more... romantic?"

Haru sighed. "Then I'll figure it out as we go. Whitney isn't the kind of person who cares about fancy gestures. She just wants to spend time together."

Jessie smirked. "Still, it wouldn't hurt to think ahead. Maybe a nice dinner or a walk through the park? Girls love that kind of thing."

Haru laughed. "I'll keep it in mind, Jessie."

Later that evening, after settling into their rooms, Haru decided to head out for some fresh air. The city was even livelier at night, with bright lights and music filling the air. He found himself wandering toward the Radio Tower, reminiscing about his childhood adventures in the city.

As he leaned against the railing overlooking the city, he heard a familiar voice behind him. "Couldn't sleep?"

Haru turned to see Whitney standing there, a soft smile on her face. "Something like that. The city's energy is different at night, you know?"

Whitney joined him by the railing. "It's been a while since we've just talked like this. I'm glad you came back, Haru."

Haru smiled. "Me too. Being here... it reminds me of how far I've come. But it also reminds me of everything I still want to achieve."

Whitney chuckled. "Always the determined one. That's what I like about you."

Haru's cheeks flushed slightly, but he maintained his composure. "And you're still as upbeat as ever. It's refreshing."

They stood in comfortable silence for a moment, watching the city lights twinkle. Then Whitney broke the silence. "Tomorrow, let's make the most of it. Whether it's a date or just two old friends hanging out, I want it to be special."

Haru nodded. "It will be. I promise."

As they parted ways, Haru felt a renewed sense of purpose. Tomorrow wasn't just about reconnecting with Whitney—it was about embracing the journey ahead, one step at a time.

The next morning arrived, as Haru came to pick up Whitney, she came out of her house as they looked at Eachother, Haru was wearing suit, and Whitney was wearing a pink dress, seeing how she looked Haru kinda blushes, as he holded he hand

Haru looked at her. "Come on let's go to the place i booked"

Whitney rapper her arms around Haru. "Let's go then, Mr Handsome".

Haru then though to him self. "Damm she really is Raven Reincarnation"

Whitney was expecting a small restaurant not something to expensive, will she forgot Haru was Rich Rich, as he took her to the Goldenrod top restaurant Dragonite vally, will she thought that was it but no he booked the VIP room, which was on the top of the 50 floor building

As they entered the towering building, Whitney's eyes widened at the sheer grandeur of the place. The walls were adorned with elegant designs of dragon motifs, and a massive chandelier shaped like a Dragonite hung in the center of the lobby. Haru guided her toward the private elevator, reserved exclusively for VIP guests.

Whitney looked at him with a mix of amazement and nervousness. "Haru... this place is incredible. You really went all out, huh?"

Haru smiled softly. "For you? Always."

As the elevator ascended, Whitney glanced out the glass walls, marveling at the breathtaking view of Goldenrod City. When they finally reached the VIP room, the doors opened to reveal an extravagant dining space. The room was decorated with soft ambient lighting, giving it a warm and romantic atmosphere. Floor-to-ceiling windows offered a panoramic view of the city below.

A table was set for two, complete with a bouquet of pink roses and candles. The waiter greeted them with a bow and guided them to their seats.

Whitney turned to Haru, her cheeks flushed. "Haru, this is... it's amazing. I've never experienced anything like this."

Haru chuckled, rubbing the back of his neck. "I just wanted to make this special for you. You deserve it."

As they settled into their seats, the waiter presented the menu. It featured a variety of gourmet dishes, from delicately prepared Magikarp sushi to Miltank steak and various exotic berries for dessert. Whitney hesitated, unsure what to order.

Haru noticed and leaned in. "Don't worry about the price. Just pick whatever you like."

Whitney gave him a playful glare. "Easy for you to say, Mr. Moneybags."

They both laughed, the tension easing as they enjoyed their meal. Throughout the dinner, they shared stories from their childhood, reminiscing about their adventures in Goldenrod City. Haru found himself captivated by Whitney's laughter and the way her eyes lit up when she spoke.

After the meal, Haru stood up and extended his hand to her. "Come on, there's one more thing I want to show you."

Whitney raised an eyebrow but took his hand. "You're full of surprises tonight, aren't you?"

Haru led her to a private balcony adjacent to the dining room. The cool night air greeted them as they stepped out. The city lights stretched endlessly before them, twinkling like stars.

Whitney gasped, leaning on the railing. "It's beautiful..."

Haru stood beside her, his gaze focused on her rather than the view. "Not as beautiful as you."

Whitney's face turned bright red as she turned to him. "Haru, you can't just say things like that out of nowhere!"

Haru smiled, his confidence unwavering. "Why not? It's the truth."

For a moment, neither of them spoke. Then, Whitney took a deep breath and stepped closer to him. "You know... I used to think we'd always just be friends. But tonight, you've shown me a side of you I didn't expect. I think... I've always liked you, Haru."

Haru reached out, gently tucking a strand of hair behind her ear. "I've liked you too, Whitney. For as long as I can remember."

Their eyes met, and the world seemed to fade away. Slowly, Haru leaned in, and Whitney closed the distance between them, their lips meeting in a gentle kiss.

As they pulled away, Whitney rested her head on his shoulder, a content smile on her face. "This has been the best night of my life, Haru."

Haru wrapped an arm around her, holding her close. "And it's just the beginning."

Haru looked at her. "And I will charge this moment, as you are my first girlfriend".

Whitney looked at him as she blinked. "First?".

Haru made a nervous laughed. "I am planning on getting a harem".

Whitney looked at him, as he can see a tick mark, as she was glearing bloody murder. "Oh really, huh".

At this moment he knew he fuck up, one comedic chances later, Whitney was bending Haru arm as she looked at him.

Whitney just looked at her new boyfriend as she spoke to him. "I am not ok with this, you can't just leave out yout childhood dream, but I will expected, in one condition I will always be number 1".

Haru felt his arm in pain as he looked at her. "Yes ok".

Haru then though to him self. "Yup, if I had doubts now I don't, she really is Raven Reincarnation down to the same reaction when I said I am getting more then one girlfriend".

Haru winced in pain, his face scrunched up as Whitney twisted his arm just enough to make her point clear. "I promise, you'll always be number one!" he exclaimed, his voice a mix of sincerity and desperation.

Whitney finally let go, crossing her arms and giving him a stern look, though the faintest smile tugged at her lips. "Good. Don't forget that, Haru. I won't let you treat me like some secondary character in your harem dream."

Haru sighed in relief, shaking out his arm to restore circulation. "Trust me, Whitney. Even if I go down that road, you'll always have a special place. You're my childhood crush—there's no replacing that."

Whitney raised an eyebrow, her playful glare returning. "Flattery won't get you out of trouble, mister. But... I appreciate the sentiment." She smirked. "And just so you know, I'll be keeping a close eye on your 'future girlfriends.' They better meet my standards."

Haru couldn't help but laugh nervously. "I'm starting to think this harem idea might be more dangerous than I thought..."

Whitney grabbed his arm again, this time more gently, and leaned against him. "You bet it is. Now, come on, boyfriend. Let's enjoy the rest of our date before I decide to bend your other arm."

As they walked back into the restaurant, Haru thought to himself, She really is Raven reincarnated. Strong, fiery, and absolutely terrifying when I mess up. But... I wouldn't have it any other way.

After that they ordered there food, they didn't order food before but now they did.

Haru looked at staff. "I would like a Mlitank Steak"

Whitney just looked at him a with a deadpan a face. "Why must you make me suffer"

He just smirked at her. "Payback".

Whitney rolled hee eyes. "I will take a Crawdaunt Curry".

As she staff walked away, as Whitney looker at him. "Did you have to make me suffer".

Haru looked at him. "Do you have any idea how many trains hate Miltank because of you, Miss Gate keeper"

Whitney crossed her arms, leaning back in her seat with a huff. "Hey, it's not my fault those trainers weren't ready for my Miltank. It's called strategy, Haru."

Haru chuckled, his smirk widening. "Strategy? More like emotional trauma. Your Rollout spam is legendary. I've seen grown men cry because of you."

Whitney's cheeks puffed up in indignation. "Don't act like you're innocent! You're probably traumatizing people with that Houndour of yours."

Haru leaned forward, resting his chin on his hand. "True, but unlike you, I don't pretend to be innocent. You, Miss Gatekeeper, lure people in with that cheerful smile of yours and then crush their dreams with Rollout."

Whitney's playful glare returned. "You're lucky I like you, Haru. Otherwise, I'd make you battle my Miltank right now."

Haru raised an eyebrow, a mischievous glint in his eye. "Oh? Is that a challenge? Because I'd love to see how your Miltank holds up against my team."

Whitney smirked, leaning forward. "Careful what you wish for, Haru. I don't go easy on anyone, not even my boyfriend."

The staff returned with their food, placing the Miltank steak and Crawdaunt curry in front of them. Whitney glanced at Haru's plate and sighed dramatically. "You're really enjoying this, aren't you?"

Haru picked up his fork, grinning. "Absolutely. Revenge never tasted so good."

Whitney shook her head, but a small smile played on her lips as she dug into her curry. "You're impossible, Haru."

Haru chuckled. "And you wouldn't have me any other way."
