Chapter 19: Not Going Easy Part 2
The two Pokémon hit, as they both are sent back, as Cyndaquil was ready for fait as was ready to call it back, he has two other Pokémon to use but then Cyndaquil then glows as it then evolved
As there standing was a Quilava, Quilava looked at Vikavolt.
Bugsy looked at Ash. "Will I think it is high time we end this".
Ash's eyes widened as Quilava stood tall in front of him, the newly evolved Fire-Type glowing with energy. The once small Cyndaquil was now much more confident, its flames burning brighter than ever before.
"Quilava! You did it!" Ash cheered, his heart swelling with pride. Quilava gave a fierce cry, ready to finish the battle.
Bugsy observed Quilava, his expression serious. "This will be interesting. Vikavolt, let's wrap this up. Use Thunderbolt!"
With a flash of light, Vikavolt sent out a powerful Thunderbolt that streaked across the battlefield toward Quilava. But Ash wasn't backing down. He had a plan.
"Quilava, use Flame Wheel! Dodge and then counter with a Fire Spin!"
Quilava spun into action, its body enveloped in flames as it dodged the Thunderbolt, moving with incredible speed. The Electric-Type attack missed, and Quilava immediately countered by creating a spiral of fire that surrounded Vikavolt, trapping it within the fiery vortex.
"Quilava!" Ash shouted, watching as the Fire Spin began to tighten around Vikavolt.
Bugsy grimaced but quickly called out, "Vikavolt, use Bug Buzz! Break free!"
Vikavolt unleashed an ear-piercing Bug Buzz, the sonic waves rippling through the fire, causing some of the flames to flicker and die down. But it wasn't enough to escape the Fire Spin completely. The fire intensified as Vikavolt struggled to break free.
Ash saw an opening. "Now, Quilava, Flame Charge, full power!"
With a burst of speed, Quilava charged directly at Vikavolt, its body ignited with fiery energy. The move struck Vikavolt with tremendous force, sending it flying back and knocking it out cold.
"Vikavolt is unable to battle!" the referee called.
Ash's heart raced as he looked at his newly evolved Quilava, still standing strong. "You did it, Quilava! We won!"
Bugsy, though defeated, smiled genuinely at Ash. "You've got a lot of strength, Ash. That was an incredible battle. You and your Pokémon have earned this."
Ash grinned. "Thanks, Bugsy! I couldn't have done it without Quilava and my whole team."
Bugsy handed Ash the Hive Badge, his expression full of respect. "Take this, the Hive Badge. You've earned it. Keep up the good work, and who knows? Maybe you'll even surpass me one day."
Ash thanked him, his eyes shining with excitement. "I won't stop until I'm the very best, Bugsy!"
As Ash left the gym, Brock and Misty congratulated him once again. "That was amazing, Ash," Misty said. "I knew you'd win after Quilava evolved!"
Brock nodded, a proud smile on his face. "You've come a long way since your first battle, Ash. That was a hard-fought victory."
Ash looked at his newly earned badge and then at his Pokémon, his heart full of determination. "One down, five to go! I'm not stopping until I catch 'em all!"
With the Hive Badge in hand and a renewed sense of purpose, Ash and his friends continued their journey, eager for the next challenge ahead.
Later that night, Bugsy was on a call with Haru. "And yeah that is how the battle ended, he won and got two evolved Pokémon, is that want you wanted when you said you wanted me to go hard on him".
Haru on his side spoke. "Yeah, this what I meant, but I didn't expect this outcome and yeat you still holded back".
Bugsy chuckled on the other end of the call. "I gave it my all, Haru. But Ash is a quick learner, and I couldn't help but admire the way he and his Pokémon adapted during the battle. That Quilava's Flame Charge was something else."
Haru leaned back in his chair, his mind processing the information. "Yeah, Ash does have a way of surprising you when you least expect it. I guess it was a good test for him, even if I didn't fully expect Quilava to evolve in the heat of battle."
Bugsy paused for a moment, then spoke with a hint of curiosity in his voice. "So, do you think he has what it takes to go all the way to the top? The kid's got a lot of potential, but there's still a long road ahead of him."
Haru's tone turned thoughtful. "It's not just about raw potential, Bugsy. Ash has something special. He has this ability to connect with his Pokémon on a deep level. That bond is what sets him apart. But you're right, the road ahead won't be easy. He still has a lot to learn, and there are tougher battles waiting for him."
Bugsy nodded, his respect for Ash growing even more. "Yeah, you're right. I'll be keeping an eye on him. He's going to make it far, that much I can tell. But, next time, I'll make sure to test him even harder."
Haru smirked slightly. "Just don't push him too hard, Bugsy. He needs challenges, but not ones that break his spirit. He's got the heart, now it's about honing his skills."
Bugsy laughed. "Don't worry, I know the balance. I'll make sure his next challenges are just as tough, but fair. By the way, when are you planning to come by?"
Haru's voice shifted slightly, the tone becoming more casual. "Soon. I've got a few things to take care of, but I'll make my way over there when I can. It'll be interesting to see how Ash handles the next leg of his journey."
The two trainers shared a quiet moment, both reflecting on the journey ahead.
After a brief silence, Bugsy spoke up again. "Well, take care of yourself, Haru. You've got your hands full, I'm sure. Just make sure Ash is ready for what's coming next. He won't get much time to rest."
Haru nodded. "I'll make sure he's ready, Bugsy. Thanks again for the help."
With that, the call ended, and Bugsy set his phone down, his thoughts on the road ahead for Ash. Haru's words stuck with him—Ash had potential, but only time would tell how far he could truly go.
Haru then looked at Houndour and Elekid. "Alright let's continue our training".
Marshtomp and Meowth also noded, as for Jame he was training with his Scyther agents Haru Scizor which wasn't going so well, when a you opponent it a full maxed EV and IV trained Pokémon with the most battle readys moved yeah
Haru watched as James struggled with Scyther. He had seen James grow since they first met, but there was a clear gap between his Scyther and his own Scizor. Scizor was a battle-hardened powerhouse, with perfect IVs and EVs, and had honed her skills over countless battles.
James tried to issue commands, but his Scyther was slower, less precise, and lacked the power to outmatch Scizor in a head-to-head. The two Pokémon clashed again, with Scyther's X-Scissor meeting Scizor's Bullet Punch. Scizor barely flinched, her metallic body glinting in the sunlight as she expertly dodged and countered.
"James, you're going to have to think quicker than that!" Haru called out, observing the battle closely.
James grimaced, sweat on his brow. "I know, but it's like Scizor's anticipating my moves before I even say them!"
Haru nodded. "That's the difference between a Pokémon that's trained at the highest level and one still building up experience. Scizor has been with me through a lot, and she's learned to anticipate the smallest movements in battle. But don't worry, you'll get there. Training with me and Scizor should help you learn the ropes, but you need to work on your timing."
He looked over to his Pokémon, who were all focused on their training. Marshtomp was using Rock Slide to perfect his aim, Elekid was sparring with Meowth, and Houndour was practicing his agility. Each of them had their own strengths, but they also had weaknesses they were working to overcome.
"Alright, let's keep pushing forward," Haru called out. "James, don't be discouraged. Just focus on your next move. Scyther's fast, but your Scyther is still learning its limits. Get into the rhythm, and don't rush."
James took a deep breath, refocusing. "Right. I need to be more patient. Let's try again, Scyther! Use Swords Dance and then follow up with a quick Aerial Ace!"
Scyther nodded, the wings on its back flaring as it performed Swords Dance to boost its attack. But as Scyther lunged forward for Aerial Ace, Scizor had already seen the move coming. With a quick, calculated dodge, Scizor sidestepped and then countered with a quick Bullet Punch, knocking Scyther off balance.
James groaned. "Scyther, you're faster than this! Come on!"
Haru watched silently, then offered a tip. "Try to anticipate Scizor's counters. Don't just react. Think about what she might do next and act before she does."
James nodded, frustration turning into determination. "Got it. I'm not giving up on you, Scyther!"
The battle continued, but with each clash, James was slowly improving, learning to read Scizor's moves and reacting faster. Haru smiled as he watched the progress. "That's the spirit," he thought.
James took another deep breath, his grip tightening around the Pokéball as he focused on his Scyther. The connection between them was growing stronger, and he could feel the improvement in the air. "Scyther, let's try again!" he called out, more confident this time.
Scyther responded, flapping its wings energetically. Haru watched closely, knowing this battle was as much about James's growth as it was about Scyther's.
"Scizor, let's keep it simple," Haru said, his voice calm and commanding. "Start with Iron Defense and prepare for whatever James throws at you."
Scizor stood firm, its metal exoskeleton gleaming as it raised its defenses. It was clear Scizor was ready for anything, but Haru wanted James to learn how to break through that defense, not just rely on brute strength.
"Scyther, use Swords Dance again! Boost your power!" James instructed.
Scyther's body glowed with the energy from the Swords Dance, its speed and attack power increasing. James felt a surge of hope. This time, he wasn't just reacting—he was taking control of the battle.
"Now, Aerial Ace!" he ordered.
Scyther darted forward like a blur, its wings cutting through the air. Haru's eyes narrowed, knowing that Scizor had a counter ready. But instead of letting Scyther get the first hit, he called, "Scizor, use Bullet Punch, and don't hold back!"
The moment Scyther reached striking range, Scizor's claws glinted, and with lightning speed, it struck first with a devastating Bullet Punch. Scyther was sent skidding back, but this time, James was ready.
"Scyther, keep your distance! Use Agility to dodge and get around her!" James shouted.
Scyther zipped through the air with newfound speed, barely dodging Scizor's next Bullet Punch. It was learning, adapting, just as James was. Haru nodded in approval. "Good, that's the way."
"Now, Scyther, follow up with a quick X-Scissor!" James called out.
Scyther's pincers glowed with energy as it swung them in a rapid X motion, heading straight for Scizor. Haru didn't flinch; Scizor was prepared.
"Scizor, Bullet Punch again!" Haru countered.
This time, Scizor met Scyther's X-Scissor with a powerful Bullet Punch, knocking Scyther back once again. James watched as his Scyther struggled, but he could see the fire in its eyes—the determination to keep fighting.
"Scyther, don't give up!" James shouted, encouraging his Pokémon. "One more time, let's try a Fury Cutter!"
Scyther, with its newfound confidence, swung its pincers rapidly in succession, aiming for Scizor. It wasn't the strongest move, but it was fast, and James had a feeling it might catch Scizor off guard.
"Scizor, Iron Head!" Haru called.
Scizor's head glowed as it charged forward, its hard metal skull crashing into Scyther just as the Fury Cutter strikes landed. Both Pokémon staggered back, breathing heavily, and for the first time, Scizor was showing signs of wear.
"Alright, James," Haru said, a proud grin on his face. "You've done well. Your timing's getting better, and Scyther's learning. But remember, it's not just about the moves. It's about how you read the flow of battle and keep up the pressure."
James was panting but smiling. "I... I feel like I'm getting it! Scyther, you're amazing!"
Scyther nodded, equally exhausted but happy. It was clear that, though they hadn't won, the battle had brought them closer together.
Haru walked over to James and patted him on the back. "You're on the right track. It's all about patience and building that connection with your Pokémon. Keep training, and one day, you'll be able to take on the toughest opponents, no problem."
James, now filled with renewed confidence, nodded. "Thanks, Haru. I'll get there. And Scyther, you're not giving up either, right?"
Scyther chirped and gave a thumbs-up, ready for the next round of training.
With the sun beginning to set, the two trainers and their Pokémon packed up, their spirits high. The road ahead was long, but it was clear that James and Scyther were on the path to becoming an unstoppable duo, just like Haru and his team. And Haru, watching his friend progress, couldn't help but feel a sense of pride.
