Pokémon: Day Bringer

Chapter 16: Aura

Haru went out of the Pokémon center to get some fresh air, as then he stopped, as he saw the Figure in black robs again, he looked at Haru noting wanting him to escape Haru follows the man, the man was faster but Haru kept running he felt the presence again, as he looked at the man, after a while he arrived in a middle of a forest.

As Haru looked around wondering where he then, then it happened a blast of energy hit his body, it was from the group as it went through his whole body, as Haru was sent back, but something was different he felt like there a new breath do air for him, like a noseblock was open.

Haru's heart raced as he stood, still feeling the strange aftereffects of the blast of energy that had coursed through his body. His muscles ached, but there was something else, something deeper. It was like a new awareness had awakened inside him—like a window opening in his mind, revealing an energy that he hadn't fully grasped before. It was as if something long dormant had been unlocked, and he could feel the weight of it.

The figure in black robes, perched high on a tree branch, seemed unfazed by the commotion. His voice, calm and deliberate, broke the silence. "Just a small help, fully unlocking your Aura," he said cryptically, his gaze never leaving Haru.

Haru's mind raced. He was familiar with Aura—the ability to sense and manipulate the life force of all living things. He'd learned to control it over the years, but this... this was different. The energy that had blasted through him felt far more intense than anything he had experienced before.

"What the hell did you do?" Haru's voice was sharp, a mix of anger and confusion. His body still buzzed with unfamiliar energy, and he could sense something in the air—something palpable, like an invisible force surrounding him.

The figure only shrugged, his voice calm but edged with mystery. "More like helped you re-unlock it. After all, not every day you meet another reincarnated person who has memories of their last life."

Haru's blood ran cold at the mention of reincarnation. For a moment, his mind went blank, processing the weight of the statement. How did this person know? Was it true? Had something about his past life, something hidden deep within him, been influencing him all along?

"You know about that?" Haru's voice faltered for a second, but he quickly steadied himself. "How do you know about my previous life?"

The figure stepped down from the tree, landing gracefully on the ground in front of Haru. The robe fluttered with his movements, but his face remained hidden beneath the hood.

"Of course I do," the figure said, his tone almost patronizing. "You're not the only one with memories of a past life. There's more to this world than you realize, Haru."

Haru clenched his fists, his newfound Aura flaring around him instinctively. "Who are you?" he demanded, his voice laced with a mix of curiosity and suspicion. "And what do you want with me?"

The figure chuckled softly, as though entertained by Haru's defiance. "All in good time. But for now, you have much more to learn. Your true potential lies beyond what you think you know. Your Aura is just the beginning."

Haru stood tall, shaking off the initial shock of the encounter. He could feel his Aura shifting around him, now more powerful than before, like an untapped wellspring. The energy inside him seemed to resonate with something ancient, something powerful. He wasn't just in control of it anymore; it was a part of him, thrumming in his veins.

"If you're not going to tell me who you are," Haru said, "then at least tell me why I need this power. What am I supposed to do with it?"

The figure, still cloaked in shadows, finally looked directly at Haru. His eyes gleamed with a cold, calculating intensity. "You don't have to do anything... yet. But know this: you're part of something bigger now. The forces at play in this world have been set in motion for years, and your role in it is just beginning. How you choose to wield your power, and whether you embrace it or not, will determine everything."

Haru's mind raced. What was the figure talking about? What role did he play in whatever grand plan was unfolding? He had thought that becoming the Champion of Johto was his goal—something he could prove to himself and the world—but now, it felt like there was a much larger destiny pulling at him.

"Who else is involved in this?" Haru asked, his tone demanding answers. "Is there more to this than just me?"

The figure paused for a moment, his lips curling into a mysterious smile. "You'll meet them soon enough. For now, remember this: you're not alone in this world. There are others with powers like yours, and some of them will help you. Some will try to stop you. But all of them will shape your future."

With that, the figure vanished into the shadows, leaving Haru standing alone in the forest, his thoughts spinning.

The newly unlocked power within him still pulsed, and he knew that his journey was far from over. Whatever this mysterious figure had set in motion, Haru was now caught in the middle of it. But one thing was clear—his destiny was changing, and it was no longer just about Pokémon battles. The stakes were much higher now.

Haru's footsteps crunched against the forest floor as he made his way back to the Pokémon Center, his mind swirling with unanswered questions. He clenched his fists, trying to push the strange encounter to the back of his mind. He wasn't ready to confront what had just happened or the cryptic words the figure had left him with. For now, all he wanted was to focus on his journey.

Unbeknownst to him, high above in the treetops, the robed figure remained, watching his every move with an eerie stillness. Two masked individuals emerged from the shadows, their black outfits blending seamlessly with the darkness around them. The insignia on their uniforms—a minimalist design of the Legendary Dragon Pokémon Kyurem—glimmered faintly under the dim light filtering through the forest.

One of the masked figures turned to the robed man. "Should we keep an eye on him?" Their voice was low and cautious, tinged with both curiosity and unease.

The robed figure's response was calm, deliberate. "No, not yet. We will wait. The prince will soon arrive in Unova, and only then will the wheels of destiny begin to turn."

The second masked figure spoke up, their tone more assertive. "As you wish, but I still say we intervene. N needs to be freed from Team Plasma. His ideals can serve our cause if we guide him correctly."

The robed figure tilted his head slightly, as if weighing the suggestion, but ultimately dismissed it. "No. This is better. The descendants of the two brothers must clash once again. The boy and the prince will both play their roles, as history demands. And this time..." His voice trailed off, his gaze fixed on the path Haru had taken. "This time, we will bring the Dragon back—whole and unbroken."

The masked figures nodded, though a hint of unease lingered between them. The robed figure turned away from Haru's fading silhouette, the folds of his cloak billowing as he moved deeper into the shadows. The masked individuals followed without question, vanishing as silently as they had appeared.

In the distance, Haru reached the edge of the forest, unaware of the unseen players in the game he was now a part of, or the ancient forces stirring just beneath the surface of the world he thought he knew.

Haru lay on the soft mattress of his bed in the Pokémon Center, his eyes closed but his mind fully alert. The faint hum of the Center's equipment and the occasional murmur from the night staff provided a soothing backdrop. With his newly unlocked Aura coursing through him, he decided to try something new: connecting to his Pokémon while they rested.

He let his breath steady, feeling the rhythmic rise and fall of his chest. Slowly, he reached out with his Aura, visualizing it like a web extending outward to the Pokéballs on the nearby table. Each ball contained one of his loyal partners, their energy faint but distinct. Haru could sense them.

First was Marshtomp, his newest evolution. Its Aura was strong and vibrant, pulsing with newfound power and pride. Haru could feel the confidence and eagerness radiating from the Water/Ground-type, ready to take on the world after its evolution.

Next was Elekid. Her Aura was fiery and impatient, flickering like a flame that refused to be contained. Haru chuckled softly to himself, sensing her grumbles about Mudkip evolving before her.

Then came Meowth. His Aura was calm, though tinged with mild annoyance—likely from Haru making him battle earlier that day. Haru could almost hear Meowth muttering something about wanting more respect.

Finally, his Aura touched Scizor. The connection was different—deeper, almost instinctual. Her presence felt like a blazing beacon, unwavering and loyal. Haru could feel her protective nature and the joy she felt from being reunited with him after so long.

Haru smiled, focusing on strengthening the bonds with his Pokémon through this newfound ability. He wasn't just sensing their emotions; he was sharing his own feelings as well. A sense of gratitude, pride, and determination flowed through the Aura connection, enveloping each Pokémon like a warm embrace.

He opened his eyes, the glow of his Aura dissipating as he severed the connection. "This... this is amazing," he muttered to himself, sitting up. "If I can master this, it'll bring us even closer together."

As he lay back down, a faint smile crossed his lips. For the first time in years, Haru felt a renewed sense of purpose—a feeling that the journey ahead was not just about winning battles or collecting badges, but about forging bonds that could never be broken.

Haru stared at the ceiling, his mind still buzzing with the sensation of his Aura flowing freely. He hadn't felt this level of connection since… well, since before he'd abandoned his journey. Back then, he'd been a prodigy, yes, but he'd also been reckless, viewing Pokémon as tools to achieve his goals rather than as partners. That mindset had cost him dearly.

But this was different. His Aura wasn't just a tool; it was a bridge between him and his Pokémon, a way to share more than just commands in battle. It was trust, understanding, and partnership made tangible.

He sighed, shifting slightly in bed. "This changes everything," he whispered to himself. "If I can fully unlock the potential of Aura, not just in battle but in connecting with my team... we'll be unstoppable. And not just that—we'll be united."

Suddenly, a faint flicker of energy drew his attention. It wasn't coming from his Pokémon or even the room—it was outside. Haru frowned, sitting up and glancing toward the window. The energy felt... odd. Not hostile, but not entirely friendly either. Curious, he slipped on his shoes and quietly exited the Pokémon Center, careful not to wake anyone.

The cool night air greeted him as he stepped outside. The streets were silent, bathed in the pale light of the moon. Haru closed his eyes, focusing on the strange energy he'd sensed. It was faint, almost like a whisper in the distance, but he could follow it.

He walked for several minutes, the energy leading him toward the edge of town and into the forest. The trees loomed overhead, their shadows stretching like fingers across the ground. Haru's Aura flickered faintly around him, a soft glow that illuminated his path.

Finally, he reached a small clearing. In the center stood a strange object—a stone tablet inscribed with ancient, unreadable symbols. The energy he'd been following emanated from it, swirling faintly in the air like mist.

"What is this?" Haru muttered, stepping closer.

As he approached, the energy seemed to react to him, growing stronger and more concentrated. His Aura resonated with it, creating a faint hum in the air. Haru reached out, his fingers brushing the surface of the tablet—

A sudden surge of energy coursed through him, making him stagger back. Images flashed through his mind—an ancient battle, a pair of legendary Pokémon, and two trainers standing side by side. Their faces were obscured, but their determination was clear.

The vision faded as quickly as it had come, leaving Haru breathless. He stared at the tablet, his heart pounding.

"What the hell was that?" he whispered, his mind racing.

Before he could process what had happened, a voice echoed through the clearing, low and commanding.

"So, you've found it."

Haru whirled around, his Aura flaring instinctively. Standing at the edge of the clearing was the robed figure from earlier, flanked by the two masked individuals. Their presence sent a shiver down his spine.

"You've begun to unlock your true potential," the figure said, stepping forward. "But this is only the beginning."

Haru's fists clenched, his Aura swirling protectively around him. "Who are you? What do you want with me?"

The figure chuckled, the sound cold and hollow. "Patience. All will be revealed in time. For now, consider this a gift—a glimpse of the power that lies within you."

Before Haru could respond, the figure and his companions vanished, disappearing into the shadows as if they'd never been there.

Haru stood alone in the clearing, his mind a whirlwind of questions. What was the tablet? What had he seen? And who were those people?

One thing was certain—his journey was about to take a much darker and more dangerous turn.

The next, the trio was ready to leave and go to Goldenrod City.

Haru looked at Bugsy. "Hey, so in a few days a trainer name ash is coming I need you to do something".

Bugsy looked at and spoke. "What is that".

Haru looked at him. "Go hard on, hard enough so one of his Pokémon evolved got it, maybe two".

Bugsy just blinked as he just spoke. "Ok?".

As Haru, Jessie and James walked away, as Haru wanted to forget what happened last night, he got Memorys of his last life, but for now he didn't care about he was gonna keep it a secret.

Jessie looked at him. "So what is your beef with tworp".

Haru looked at them. "Who Ash, kid has a lot potential, but he is not pushed to his limits, and I have seen what he did in Folkner gym, he needs to learn and get stronger"

James raised an eyebrow, curious about Haru's reasoning. "You're pushing him to grow stronger? You sound more like a rival than someone who just wants to forget about him."

Haru glanced at James but didn't respond immediately. He let out a sigh as they walked along the dirt road toward Goldenrod City, the towering skyline faintly visible in the distance.

Jessie smirked, crossing her arms. "So, what's the deal? You setting Ash up to be a challenge for you later, or are you just playing mentor from the shadows?"

Haru stopped and turned to face them. His expression was serious, the playful edge from earlier gone. "Listen, Ash has the potential to be one of the strongest trainers in the world. But if he doesn't start learning how to adapt and push himself harder, he'll always be stuck playing catch-up."

Meowth, walking alongside them, tilted his head. "So, ya wanna make sure the kid's strong enough so he doesn't get left behind, huh? Sounds like a lotta work for someone who ain't yer problem."

Haru chuckled softly, scratching the back of his head. "Yeah, maybe it's none of my business, but I can't help it. If I can nudge him in the right direction, why not? Besides..." He trailed off, his tone lowering. "I've seen what happens when someone doesn't push themselves to grow. They get crushed."

Jessie and James exchanged a glance, a rare moment of mutual understanding passing between them.

James decided to change the subject. "So, what's the plan once we reach Goldenrod? Are we hitting the Radio Tower, or are we just passing through?"

Haru smirked, his mood lifting slightly. "Goldenrod City's got plenty to offer. I need to check out the department store for supplies and maybe pick up a few TMs. And, of course, there's the gym."

Jessie grinned. "Ah, Whitney's gym. The so-called Gatekeeper of Johto. Think you can handle her infamous Miltank?"

Haru laughed. "Handle it? I've beaten her before. Let's just say Miltank isn't as unbeatable as people think when you know what you're doing."

Meowth groaned. "Great, another gym battle. I hope ya plan on givin' us some time to rest after all this runnin' around."

Haru smiled, reaching down to pat Meowth on the head. "Don't worry, buddy. Once we're in Goldenrod, you'll have all the time you need to relax."

As the group continued on their way, the looming specter of Haru's memories from the previous night lingered in the back of his mind. The mysterious figures, the revelation about his reincarnation, and the unlocked potential of his Aura—it all raised questions he wasn't ready to confront.

For now, his focus was on the present: reaching Goldenrod City, taking on Whitney, and preparing for whatever challenges lay ahead. But deep down, he knew that his past and the mysterious forces watching him wouldn't let him rest for long.
