Pokémon: A Trainer Who Masters the Six Powers from the Start

Chapter 40: Chapter 40: Reinforcements Arrive

As Ron stepped into the area, he was struck by the sheer scale of the chaos—this was what a riot looked like.

A wall of rangers and supporting trainers had formed a barricade, holding back wild Pokémon that raged within. Behind them stood others, ready to replace the frontline fighters, but just as numerous were the injured—both trainers and their Pokémon, many gravely wounded.

Despite their efforts, the wall would occasionally be breached, allowing some wild Pokémon to slip past. These were the ones Ron had encountered on his way here.

Amidst the chaos, trainers darted through the lines, targeting elite-level Pokémon to prevent them from breaking the defensive line entirely.

When another elite Pokémon broke through, Ron reacted immediately, commanding his Machoke.

"Machoke, Soru, Close Combat!"

The gray figure dashed forward with incredible speed, weaving through the battlefield until it collided with the rampaging elite Pokémon. In the next moment, the opponent was hurled back with even greater force, crashing through several large trees before coming to a halt.

Throughout the advance, Ron had made sure to have Machoke use Bulk Up to enhance its power, and now was the moment for it to shine.

The sight of another elite-level ally arriving on the scene drew cheers from the crowd.

"Persian, use Feint Attack!"

"Machoke, Karate Chop to clear out the surrounding Pokémon!"

As Ron advanced to the frontline, he directed his Persian and Machoke into action. The tight space restricted their movements, making it difficult to fully utilize Soru, but the technique still allowed them to accelerate quickly, avoiding being swarmed.

With two elite-level Pokémon joining the fray, the pressure on the nearby rangers and trainers eased significantly, allowing them to breathe a little easier.

"Bellossom, use Grassy Terrain and support the surrounding Pokémon with Magical Leaf!"

At Ron's command, the Bellossom standing beside him released a wave of Grass-type energy. Vibrant green grass sprouted from the ground, covering the battlefield in a lush carpet.

The Pokémon within the grassy field immediately perked up, their energy replenished and their resolve renewed.

Grassy Terrain not only restored the stamina of allied Pokémon but also amplified the power of Grass-type moves.

With both offensive and restorative support, the trainers in Ron's area rallied with newfound strength, pushing back against the wild Pokémon's assault.

"Everyone, my name is Ron! My Bellossom can use Grassy Terrain to recover your Pokémon's stamina. Please rotate your Pokémon through my area to maximize its effects."

With the situation stabilized, Ron seized the opportunity to spread the word about his support capabilities.

Following the rangers' instructions, trainers began cycling their Pokémon into the Grassy Terrain. Soon, Ron had Bellossom focus solely on maintaining Grassy Terrain, foregoing Magical Leaf to concentrate on healing the Pokémon in the vicinity.

The continuous support from Bellossom tipped the balance, as more trainers began recovering and the number of wild Pokémon gradually dwindled. The pressure on the defensive line finally began to ease.

"Winston! You've been hogging the Grassy Terrain for long enough—let others and their Pokémon in!"

Suddenly, a voice called out, directing everyone's attention to a trainer within the Grassy Terrain. Winston had taken up a prime spot and was refusing to budge.

Ron recognized Winston. On several occasions, he had attempted to steal kills when Ron's Persian or Machoke were about to finish off an opponent, but his attempts had always failed. Winston's contributions had been minimal, mostly targeting weakened wild Pokémon left over from other trainers' battles.

With someone finally speaking up, others who had been silently resenting Wen Tai joined in, voicing their disapproval.

"What gives you the right? Can't you see everyone's fighting just as hard as you?"

"Your Pokémon are barely doing anything, and you think you deserve to stay here all day?"

"If you're so brave, why don't you and your Pokémon take on the elite wild Pokémon like Ron and the others?"

Winston, however, wasn't fazed and fired back, "I'm putting in effort, too! Without Grassy Terrain, my Pokémon wouldn't last! You don't know how much it takes to fight these wild Pokémon!"

"And maybe those elite trainers should just leave Bellossom here and go deal with the stronger wild Pokémon. Better yet, give me their Pokémon—I'll take care of it myself!"

As Winston's words turned pointedly toward Ron, the hostility in his tone was unmistakable.

Ron had heard of people like Winston, those adept at weaponizing moral arguments to guilt others. But before Ron could respond, a ranger stormed up to Winston, grabbing him by the collar.

"Shut your mouth! Do you even realize how little you've contributed? Someone like you has no right to lecture others. You're a disgrace to the League!"

With that, the ranger unceremoniously tossed Winston out of the Grassy Terrain. "Get lost! One more word, and I'll revoke your trainer's license!"

The crowd watched in silence as Winston sprawled on the ground. Instead of sympathy, the other trainers began distancing themselves from him, their disdain evident.

Winston shot a resentful glare at everyone before stalking off to a quieter corner, muttering under his breath. "Damn that Ron... and that ranger. Just you wait—I'll make you pay when I get stronger."

Unbeknownst to Winston, Persian had already locked onto him, its hypnotic gaze narrowing. As Ron leaned down, he quietly issued an order.

Moments later, Winston, lost in his muttering, began to stumble toward the raging wild Pokémon, his movements sluggish and unnatural.

In the chaos of the battle, no one noticed as the enraged Pokémon swarmed him. Within seconds, Winston was no more.

[TL/N: Dang, that was ruthless. Squashing the seed before it could even sprout. I like that, haha!]

With its task complete, Persian returned to Ron's side, as though nothing had happened.

Meanwhile, deeper in the forest, a powerful, champion-level Pokémon unleashed its overwhelming aura, keeping even the elite wild Pokémon at bay.

Finally, the champion-level trainer arrived.
