Chapter 168: Chapter 168: CP9?
"Hey!"
"There's trouble at Dock No.1! Some pirates are making a scene!" Suddenly, a loud and excited shout rang out.
"Really?"
"Let's go check it out!"
"Looks like we'll get to see the shipwrights in action again..."
As soon as the shout echoed through the streets, people immediately got excited and rushed toward Dock No.1 on their Bulls.
In just a few moments, the once lively street became eerily quiet.
"W-What just happened...?" Daisy asked, confused as she looked around.
"Seems like some pirates are causing trouble… should we go take a look too?" Kuina's eyes sparkled with excitement.
"I'm in! Let's go!" Ryuen quickly agreed.
With that, the Dream Crew hurried toward Dock No.1.
---
Cut to Dock No.1.
A group of pirates, led by their captain, was trying to get away without paying the shipyard's repair fees.
"Hahaha!"
"I don't get what you're saying. We thought it over carefully—really carefully.
Even though we asked you to fix our ship, the repair costs are just way too high." The pirate captain smirked as he spoke to a blond shipwright.
"You're getting in the way of my work," the blond shipwright said impatiently, turning his head.
But the pirate captain didn't care. He placed his sword against the shipwright's neck and continued, "So, we've decided not to pay the 100 million Berries. But still, thanks for fixing up our ship."
"Hahahaha..."
As soon as he finished speaking, all the pirates burst into laughter. It was obvious they had no intention of paying.
A crowd of people from the commercial district had gathered nearby, looking excited, as if they were waiting for something interesting to happen.
The Dream Crew stood on higher ground, watching the scene unfold.
Just then, two figures slowly approached from the distance. The onlookers moved aside to make way for them.
"Mayor Iceburg!"
"And the beautiful secretary Kalifa!"
People in the crowd greeted them one after another, and Iceburg waved back in response.
"Well now..."
"Kalifa, what's going on here?"
Iceburg stroked the little white mouse in his chest pocket while turning to ask Kalifa.
"Mayor Iceburg, please mind your behavior. You're standing too close—that counts as sexual harassment," Kalifa said seriously as she adjusted her glasses.
"Oh?"
"My apologies, Secretary Kalifa. How about I take you out for dinner tonight to make up for it?" Iceburg suggested.
"I refuse. That would also be sexual harassment.
That man over there is a customer from Dock No. 1. Even though his ship was repaired, he refuses to pay. That's basically harassment too," Kalifa said flatly.
"Well... I guess you could call it harassment," Iceburg agreed.
The group of pirates, instead of leaving, kept provoking the blond shipwright. Their arrogant laughter echoed throughout Dock No. 1.
"Sir, messing with the shipwrights here is only going to get you in trouble," the blond shipwright said without even looking up from his work.
"Shihahaha!"
All the pirates laughed even louder, as if they had just heard the funniest joke in the world.
Just then, a shipwright carrying a massive wooden beam walked by. The end of the beam smacked right into the pirate captain's neck!
With that one hit, the captain's mouth stretched wide open, frozen in shock, his eyes bulging and turning white.
He struggled in place for a moment before collapsing to the ground.
"C-Captain?!"
"Captain!"
The other pirates panicked when they saw their leader fall. They immediately drew their swords and pointed them at the shipwright.
"Huh?"
"Oh, my bad. I didn't mean to..." The shipwright turned around casually, looking completely unfazed.
"You bastard!"
"Watch where you're carrying stuff!" the pirates yelled in anger, still unaware of the real danger they were in.
Suddenly, a shipwright wielding a long saw dropped down from above. The sharp blade slashed straight into one of the shouting pirates.
"Ah... My bad, I didn't mean to either," the long-nosed shipwright smirked.
"You... You bastards!"
"You wanna fight?! Do you even know who we are?!" The pirates' legs trembled as they tried to sound tough.
"Agh!"
"That hurts!"
"Help!"
"Please, let us go! We didn't mean it..."
At that moment, another shipwright suddenly appeared in the middle of the pirate crew. Within seconds, one pirate after another was sent flying into the air, only to land perfectly in the same spot.
"That's the shadow of Marine Rokushiki!"
From above, Kuina narrowed her eyes as she watched.
The rest of the Dream Crew also focused on the shipwright who had charged into the pirates.
As for the other shipwrights at Dock No. 1, they didn't even react. It was as if scenes like this were just part of their daily routine.
"Hey~~"
"Has that cannon been properly tested?" A Whitebeard shipwright asked the young worker who was wiping down the cannon.
"Uh~~~"
"Not yet, I'll test it now~~~" The young worker replied.
"Damn it!"
"What do you guys want?"
"Don't think we'll just let you off easy..."
The surviving pirates looked terrified, but they still tried to act tough.
"Yikes~~~"
Suddenly, the sound of a cannonball cutting through the sky echoed, making everyone look up.
The cannonball landed right in the middle of the pirates—both the ones already down and those still standing!
"Boom!!!"
"Ahhh!!!"
A loud explosion erupted, followed by several screams. In an instant, every pirate was knocked unconscious by the blast.
As the smoke cleared, the shipwrights who had just fired gathered around, looking down at the fainted pirate captain with disdain.
"This is shipwright territory. No way we're letting pirates run wild here," the blond shipwright said calmly.
"Wow!"
"That was awesome!"
"Shipwrights are as reliable as ever!"
"Ahhh!!"
"Paulie, I love you!"
"Kaku, you're so cool!"
As the shipwrights took down the troublemaking pirates, the onlookers burst into cheers, and some of the fangirls even started shouting their love for them.
"Hmm!"
"They really are strong," Leah said seriously.
"Well, they are part of the World Government's CP9. They have to be at least this good. But their boss is Spandam... Robin, what do you think?" Ryuen asked, turning to Robin.
The others also looked at her.
At the mention of Spandam's name, Robin's body trembled slightly, as if she had remembered something terrifying.
She understood what they meant—if she gave the word, they would take care of Spandam right then and there.
