Chapter 312: Chapter 312: The Power of Companions, Infinite Thunder Abyss

'Yeah, Usopp and the others seem to be in some trouble.'

On the empty second floor, Roman, disguised as a magician, stood atop the ruins, watching the battle below.

Earlier, after blocking the attacks from Chinjao and Cavendish, Roman redirected the impact into the building beneath his feet, leaving the entire second floor looking like a brittle cookie, full of cracks and holes.

Aside from someone like Roman, no one else dared to stay in this crumbling "tofu" building. Not to mention, being near someone as dangerous as Roman—who wouldn't be afraid of getting taken out on a whim?

'Go give them a hand. If things get messy, you can call me...'

'Leave it to me. I've been working hard on developing my abilities, after all.'

Since Nami was so confident, Roman didn't say anything further.

'Stay safe.'

"The strong contenders in Block C are down to just ten people. Who will be the last one standing?"

The host's voice snapped Roman out of his thoughts. The fight below was nearing its end. Happo Navy's Chinjao was locked in an intense battle with "Destruction Cannon" Ideo!

Ideo's fists were like a torrential rain, striking relentlessly with the force of cannonballs. Each punch landed with explosive energy, creating continuous blasts that scorched the surrounding area.

Chinjao, on the other hand, moved with footwork as light as the wind, but his kicks were as heavy as a mountain. Each kick came with a strange high-frequency vibration, sending waves through the air that left Ideo's arms feeling numb and weak.

Destruction Cannon! Hasshoken!

The two combat styles clashed fiercely, shattering the arena and sending debris flying everywhere. Each move was terrifyingly powerful, drawing the attention of everyone watching. Even the host exclaimed,

"It's like the final showdown of the entire tournament! Which of these men will—"

"Out of my way!"

"Move!"

In the heat of battle, Chinjao was kicked away by Luffy, while Ideo was sent flying by Chinjao's punch!

For a moment, the arena fell silent. Only the sound of Luffy and Chinjao exchanging blows echoed in the air.

Nice, Luffy's taken the third match.

If this were the old "Drill Chinjao," Luffy might have had to put in more effort. But now, with "No-Drill Chinjao," using Gear Third was already being generous.

With Bartolomeo in the mix, the finals were practically turning into a showdown among the Straw Hats...

Thinking this, Roman squinted and focused on projecting his attention to another "battlefield." This made Rebecca, who had been cautiously observing him, pause in surprise. Could it be... he didn't even consider a legendary pirate like Chinjao to be a threat?

"My goodness! Facing a Warlord and an Admiral at the same time..."

Although Usopp kept yelling nervously, his hands didn't stop moving. Various plant seeds shot out, but against Doflamingo, they were nothing more than,

"Fufufufu, looks like the real fighters aren't here."

With a casual wave of his hand, Doflamingo shredded everything—whether it was the explosive "Cactus Bomb," the fierce "Vine Thorns," or the foul-smelling "Green Star Rafflesia."

Against Doflamingo, who had mastered both Observation Haki and Armament Haki at a high level, Usopp and Robin couldn't even retreat. The gap in power was just too large. But—

"I'm a companion of the future Pirate King!"

"Keep dreaming—"

As Doflamingo sped toward him, sneering, Usopp glanced at Robin behind him and, resisting the urge to back down, planted his slingshot firmly into the ground. He then assumed a stance for hand-to-hand combat!

"Do you have a death wish?"

A mere sniper, daring to face him barehanded—was this a desperate struggle at the end of the road? Doflamingo licked his lips, not disliking such people. Even if they couldn't win, having the guts to at least leave a scar on their enemy... fine, he'd end it quickly and cleanly!

[Five Colors—]

As Doflamingo raised his hand, five transparent threads trailed behind his fingers, ready to strike! But at that moment, Usopp suddenly charged forward at full speed, meeting Doflamingo's claws with a straightforward palm strike.

"Hm?"

Interesting. Trying to stop my threads ahead of time? Then I'll grant your wish! In an instant, Doflamingo's five fingers were covered in Armament Haki. With a loud crash, his strike, reinforced by Haki as powerful as Vergo's, was capable of crushing iron into dust and grinding steel like clay! Usopp wasn't supposed to be able to withstand it—sure enough, in an instant, Doflamingo's Haki left over ten bloody gashes on Usopp's arm. But:

["Enhanced Impact Shell—Elephant Gun!"]

"What?!"

In Doflamingo's brief moment of shock, an overwhelming force erupted from the long-nosed sniper's palm, which had been pinned down a moment ago, reversing the pressure. Suddenly, Usopp, who seemed like a long-range fighter, transformed into a close-combat powerhouse, sending the unprepared Doflamingo flying backward!

"Impossible!"

Doflamingo, stunned, felt something he hadn't in a long time—pain! The sheer strength from Usopp's attack overwhelmed even his Armament Haki, jolting his muscles, nerves, and bones. For a moment, he couldn't figure out what had happened.

Meanwhile, Usopp, with his bloodied arm hanging limp, didn't hesitate. He rushed forward and kicked into the air, sending a blinding slash toward his opponent!

["Enhanced Slash Shell—Lion's Requiem!"]

A sharp blade of energy, fine as a single line, lit up the air, instantly reflected in Doflamingo's eyes! The slash tore through the island of Green Bit, leaving a smooth hundred-meter-long fissure in the ground before slicing into the sea, parting the water cleanly in two.

!!!

Even Law, pinned to the ground by Fujitora's gravity blade, was dumbfounded. You had this kind of power? Why didn't you use it sooner?!

"Usopp,"

Robin hurried over and caught the long-nosed sniper, whose arm and leg hung lifelessly, covered in blood. Seeing Usopp's state, it was clear he had only been able to manage a desperate last effort.

Is this… some kind of forbidden move?

"Hah… haha… I'm… a brave warrior… of the sea…"

"Fufufufu, who would've thought,"

As the dust cleared, Doflamingo emerged, using his Haki-coated coat as a shield.

"You were hiding such a trump card. Interesting."

While standing back up, Doflamingo discreetly hid his injured right hand beneath his coat. Meanwhile, Fujitora tilted his head slightly, as if listening to something.

"What is it, Fujitora?"

"Nothing. Just wondering—do you have any large flying beasts around here?"

"...Fufufu, today really is full of surprises."

Turning his head, Doflamingo saw a pirate ship speeding toward them through the air, the large symbol of the Straw Hat Pirates emblazoned on its sail—The Sunny Merry.

"Fujitora, is that your doing?"

There were quite a few ways to fly in this world, but few that allowed an entire pirate ship to soar through the sky. Conveniently, the blind Admiral standing nearby happened to have the ability to make such a thing possible.

"Why would you say that? I'm just an old blind man—though, are all your 'birds' here so enormous?"

Probably not. If this blind Admiral wanted to interfere, there'd be no need to capture Law in the first place. Could it be a devil fruit user from the Straw Hat crew? I did hear rumors that their navigator could 'control' the weather, but—

Doflamingo's gaze locked onto the pirate ship, propelled by a fierce wind and followed by storm clouds flashing with lightning, looking like the arrival of some apocalyptic final boss. For the first time in a long while, he felt a sense of crisis. This doesn't make sense. Wasn't the Straw Hat crew's main force supposed to be distracted at the arena?

"ROOM—"

While Fujitora and Doflamingo were distracted by the pirate ship speeding toward them, Law quickly used his ability to escape!

"Slaughterhouse!"

*Swish—*

A rock appeared under Fujitora's sword, shattering instantly under the force of his gravity. Meanwhile, Law had already teleported next to Robin and the badly injured Usopp, placing his hands on their shoulders.

"I'll move you out of here. Leave the rest to me—"

"Let's go back to the Sunny together,"

Usopp, who had temporarily lost control of one hand and one leg, looked seriously at the hesitant Law.

"Trust my crew!"

"…Alright,"

*Swish—*

With another use of his teleportation ability, Law brought the three of them back to the deck of the Thousand Sunny. He collapsed to one knee, panting heavily—his powers consumed a lot of energy, especially when carrying two people.

"Usopp! How did you end up like this—"

Chopper frantically began treating Usopp, while Usopp gave Nami a thumbs-up with his working hand.

"I marked him! Time to show that turkey what the Straw Hats can do."

"Got it,"

"Here,"

Nami nodded and handed two bright green pieces of paper to Law. As Law instinctively took them, his expression shifted—he felt a refreshing energy flow through his body, rapidly restoring the stamina he had lost during the battle and retreat.

"This is…"

"Roman's creation," Nami explained. "Since we're allies now, we should look out for each other—besides, you didn't abandon Robin or Usopp back there."

"I see,"

Feeling a bit more recovered, Law stood up immediately.

"Doflamingo is coming!"

"Don't panic,"

A slender arm blocked his way. He turned his head instinctively and saw Nami's confident expression beneath her flowing orange hair.

"I told you before, didn't I? I'm strong."

…?

"Doflamingo, huh? Try this! Usopp gave me the perfect chance—"

Nami raised her hand, and thunder gathered from the thick clouds above. A massive lightning dragon, crackling with energy, shot straight at the approaching Doflamingo!

"Tch, just lightning—"

Completely unfazed, Doflamingo shifted to the side, dodging the fierce attack. Then—

*Boom!!*

Blinding electric light engulfed him, filling the sea with deafening thunderclaps and silencing everything else.

"This makes no sense!!"

After the strike, Doflamingo emerged, trembling and numb. His hair, standing on end, had turned partially charred, giving his blond locks a grayish hue.

His Observation Haki had clearly tracked the lightning's path—

there was no reason he shouldn't have dodged it!

But it wasn't over. The lightning dragon didn't weaken after the first hit; instead, it became even more brilliant and aggressive. It twisted through the sky and charged at Doflamingo again with renewed force.

Not daring to be careless, Doflamingo flicked his finger, propelling himself dozens of meters sideways, far from the lightning's path.

*Boom!*

Yet the lightning dragon curved again with impossible speed, striking Doflamingo once more. Even though his entire body was coated in Armament Haki, wisps of smoke still rose from him.

"This…"

As Law stared in shock, Nami clenched her fist as if she had Doflamingo in her grasp from a distance.

"It's not over yet!"

Before Nami's words had fully settled, an even stronger third strike followed! The twisting lightning dragon attacked Doflamingo relentlessly, ignoring all his attempts to dodge. Thunder roared, lightning flashed, and explosions resounded as the storm turned the entire sea into Nami's domain. The scene bore a striking resemblance to Enel's Ark Maxim with a touch of divine wrath.

As the unending lightning dragon continued striking without any pause, even Doflamingo's Armament Haki started to wear down. The electric current surged wildly, making him see stars, his entire body twitching and convulsing. His blood felt like it was boiling and might evaporate at any moment. If this kept up, he would be seriously injured—or worse, killed—before he could even get close to his opponent. That was something he absolutely couldn't let happen!

"Hmm?"

Just as the situation seemed to be turning in their favor, the Thousand Sunny suddenly lurched downward, causing everyone on board to stumble. Nami looked up and saw the blind man walking along the shore.

"Admiral Fujitora?"

Noticing the slightly drawn blade in his cane and the increasing pressure bearing down on them, Nami frowned briefly before saying,

"Let's go."

The Thousand Sunny turned around, riding the strong winds and carrying the storm clouds above as they calmly sailed away. Meanwhile, the charred Doflamingo finally managed to escape the relentless lightning strikes. Without wasting a second, he rushed straight toward Fujitora.

"Fujitora!!"

"Why is your Marine's 'Weather Queen' on a pirate ship?!"

Faced with Doflamingo's furious question, Fujitora sighed helplessly and rolled his eyes.

"Sorry, I'm just a blind old man. I can't even tell if my enemies are male or female~~~"

!!!

You're just shamelessly lying with your eyes wide open?!

*PS: This is a powerful move that requires a complicated setup. The next chapter will explain how it works. Nami is now the main ranged attacker of the Straw Hat crew, but her close-combat abilities are still quite poor… (End of chapter)*
