Chapter 5: Trouble
The next day...
Sammy's POV
Waiting is boring. Especially when daddy is taking a long time to clean up his car. Look! There's Lana's mom! But she seems to be having a hard time getting everyone out of the car. Maybe I can help. While dad is not looking, I walk over to Lana's mom.
"Hi. Is it okay if I help?" I ask. Lana's mom looks down at me for a few seconds, before looking back at Lana and Izzy who refuse to get out of the car. "Don't worry I got it," she says. Jade is standing by the car, looking around.
"SAMMY GET BACK HERE!" daddy yells. I sigh, being sad that Lana's mom wouldn't let me help. "Don't be bothering strangers. I've told you about this." daddy says. I lower my head. "I know..." Daddy takes my hand, and we walk into the Pizza Plex. Hopefully Lana doesn't take too long.
Meanwhile...
Jade's POV
Mommy is still trying to get Lana and Izzy out of the car. "Come on, Lana, you can't just refuse to go just because of people!"
Finally, after what seemed like hours, mommy was finally able to get Izzy and Lana out of the car.
Lana's POV
I look around for people that I know. There is Klyde over in the ball pit. But where is Sam?
Y/N's POV
"Um, y/n," Lana says seeming nervous, "Do you know where Sammy is?" I glance around the room before responding, "Yeah. I saw him arrive a little while ago with his dad. He might be playing in the activity area or maybe sitting at the table eating. Why don't you go look around? I'm sure you'll find him." Lana nods and goes off to search for Sam, wandering through the different play areas and scanning the room for any sign of him.
Lana's POV
After a few moments of looking, I finally find Sam at the arts and crafts table, drawing. "Hi, Sam," I say quietly.
Sam looks up from his drawing, and he smiles. "Hey, Lana! Look what I made!" He shows me his drawing. I stare at it for a moment. "That looks like two people stacked on top of each other," I point out.
Sam looks at his drawing again, being visibly confused. "I guess it does. But now that I think about it..." "Maybe someone was suffocating the other person." Klyde says. Sam and and I look at Klyde. "What?"
"Hey! Maybe we could ask Y/N what he/she thinks!" Sam exclaims.
"I still think it's two people stacked on top of each other," I say, pushing my chair away from the table.
Me, Klyde, and Sam get up from the table and we go find Y/N.
Y/N's POV
I feel someone tap my leg and I turn around. There's Klyde, Lana and Sam. "Hello children."
"Y/N, we need to know what you think this drawing looks like," says Sam, giving me his drawing.
I look at the drawing for a moment. "Lana says it looks like two people stacked on top of each other. And this other guy-"
"My name is Klyde!" Klyde interrupts.
"He says that it looks like someone is being suffocated," Sam explains.
I chuckle nervously. "Ah, yes. Very creative ideas."
"I told you mine was the bestest," I hear Lana whisper to Klyde. "No its not," Klyde whispers back.
"You know what I think? I think it looks like two people giving each other a hug." I say, giving my opinion.
Lana's POV
"Thanks Y/N," says Klyde. The three of us walk towards the playground.
"I don't like hugs," I admit.
"You're weird," says Klyde.
"So are you," says Sam.
"Oh yeah? Well, well, both of you are weirder!" says Klyde.
"How am I weird?" Sam asks, offended by what Klyde said.
"YOU'RE POSSESSED!" Klyde exclaims, "I wonder when those monsters are gonna kill us."
Sam growls, lunging at Klyde, but before he could throw a punch at Klyde, Mason stops him, keeping him down to the ground. Klyde takes this chance to escape.
"LET ME GO!" Sam screams.
"No. Not until you calm down," says Mason. Sam growls loudly, he looks around, probably searching for Klyde. I watch as Sam screams and growls angrily. I slowly walk towards Sam. "Sammy?" I jump as Sam quickly looks up at me, and he still looks angry.
"What's going on here?" Mr.Sun asks, noticing the commotion.
"Mason, what are you doing on Sammy?" Mr.Sun asks, turning his attention to Mason, who is still keeping Sam on the ground.
"He tried to attack me!" Klyde exclaims, peeking out from behind the playground equipment, Sam gives him a cold glare.
Mr. Sun shook his head. "Get off of him. Let me handle this."
Sam looks at me. Im shaking a lot. He really did scare me. Mason gets off of Sam, and before Mr.Sun could grab Sam, he ran away. Why? I'm going to find him and ask. When I find Sam, he is sad and curled into a ball.
"Hi, Sam," I say quietly
"Leave me alone," Sam grumbles between sobs.
"Why?" I ask.
"Because I...I don't want to hurt you," Sam says, crying
"But...you're my friend..." I murmur.
I pause for a moment before sitting next to Sam and wrapping my arms around my knees.
Sammy's POV
There was a long silence before I finally look up at Lana. "I'm sorry... I didn't mean to scare you."
"It's okay." Lana murmur.
"Lunch time!" Mr.Sun calls. Lana gets up. "Are you coming?" She ask. I shake my head. "Okay," Lana says. Lana gets up and runs to the tables.
Sunrise's POV
I look in a corner where I find Sam huddled. "There you are! I've been looking all over for you! Come on it's lunch time!"
Sam turns away. I sigh and kneel down beside Sam. "Sammy, you have been here for two hours. Come on."
"No." Sam mutters.
"Please Sam, don't make me carry you," I say, unamused by Sammy's stubbornness.
"I'll punch your rays if pick me up," Sam growls quietly.
"Okay, and?" I say. "If you punch my rays I'll put you in time out!"
Sam and I stare at each other, both of us giving each other mean stares. Sam sighs deeply and reluctantly gets up. "Fine..." Sam grumbles. I smile and I bring him to the tables, setting him beside Klyde and Mason. But before I walk away from them, I make sure to tell Klyde he needs to apologize.
