Chapter 4: Sammy
Lana's POV
I sit in a corner and watch. They can say all they want, but I'm not going over there. Y/N looks at me. She/he taps on someone's shoulder and points at me. They nod, and take a box of markers and crayons, then put in some glue and scissors, as well as googly eyes. They walk over and sit down in front of me with a smile.
"I'm Sammy. But my friends call me Sam...well now that I think about it I don't have any friends," he says. "So why did you say that your friends call you Sam," I ask. Sammy gives me some paper and puts the box in between us. "Weellll...I don't know," Sammy says, "....Sooo y/n said your name was Lana, right?" "Not was. 'Is'," I say, correcting him.
I grab the scissors. Y/N is watching us closely. "What are you drawing," he asks. "I'm drawing a picture of when it becomes night," I reply. "It looks nice," Sammy murmurs, "it looks better than mine."
I look up from my drawing to see Sammy's. "It looks like someone became dead and now someone is trying to cover it up," I admit. Sammy looks at his drawing again. "Well, now that I think about it, it kinda does. It reminds me of when I lookeded out of the window and I saw mommy fall and then daddy digged a big hole in the yard and put her inside of it. I hope she's okay."
Sammy's POV
Lana smiles...a little bit. "Does this mean were friends," I ask. "No," Lana replies.
Jade's POV
I look at Lana. She seems to enjoy her company.
Y/N's POV
I watch Sammy and Lana. Sammy's hand starts shaking violently and his gaze slowly turns to his hand. I go to Sunny and tap on his shoulder. "Hi y/n...I-i-is everything okay?" "I think something is wrong with Sammy..." I answer.
Sunny and I look in Sammy's direction, but by the time we do, Lana is panicking and Sammy is tremoring on the floor. "Oh dear." Sunny says quickly before running towards them.
Sunrise's POV
I sit beside Sam, gently rolling him onto his side. Other kids look back and stare with judging eyes. It's been nearly an entire week. His parents had originally brought him here in hopes he'd make some friends. So far he's gotten nothing but judgement.
Well, of course he has me...until he grows up. "Is...is he going to be okay?" Lana asks quietly. I look back at Lana and smile. "Of course he will." I answer. I look at y/n, she/he is trying to revert everyone's attention.
Sam's shaking stops, he is now very still and seems to have stopped breathing....this is normal...I think. "Did he become dead?" Lana murmurs. I hope not. "No, no. He's just...very sleepy." I say trying to assure Lana.
After a few minutes, Sammy starts whining loudly and punches at me. He is strong for a little guy...I think there's a dent in one of my rays. Sammy then growls, as he attempts to get up, only to fall against me.
Lana's POV
I fidget with my hands nervously. I wonder if this is why Sammy has no friends. But maybe...I could be his first. Sammy stares at me, his dark brown eyes are crossed, but they seem curious. I stare back.
Sammy sighs, closing his eyes and holding on to Mr.Sun. His breathing slowly turns into a quiet snore. He will be okay.
Later that evening...
Y/N's POV
"Sammy! Your daddy is here!" I call. Sammy runs to his dad with a smile on his face. "Can we come back tomorrow?" Sammy asks. "We'll see." His dad replies. Jade's mom arrives a few seconds later.
"So how did my girls behave?" she asks. "Oh they were amazing," I say smiling, "And we would love for your girls to come back again tomorrow." "Well I'm most likely going to bring them up here anyways, seeing as I have work tomorrow."
I call Jade, Izzy and Lana over. One by one they come walking to the door and stand by their mom. I kneel down in front of the little girls and smile softly. "You three be good girls, okay?" "Okay." Izzy murmurs.
Notes: This one took a while cuz I was constantly thinking about why Lana would be scared of him, and then become his first ever friend...aside from Mr.Sun.
